Our apartment - lovingly named ZAK House - is known to be the most modern condominium in Chiang Mai.
1. NEAR MODERN FACILITES
With Big C Extra just 3 mins walk from the condo, it doesn't get anymore convenient to shop for grocery, dine at restaurants or food court, run banking errands (with no fewer than 3 banks), get a haircut, browse at the bookshop, shop for snacks, anything! It's also a place where you can easily hop onto a "Red Bus" that will take you to the city centre for about 120baht.
2. NEAR OLD AND CHARMING STREETS
Surrounding our condo are streets where life moves at a languid pace. It's what I love most about living in Chiang Mai. Here, the hawkers of the roadside stalls are also friends to their customers - lots of smiling and free sampling of food. No English is spoken here, you will have to get by with hand gestures. I guarantee that you will cherish the sometimes funny memories of your communication methods with the locals.
The best time to explore the streets is morning. You will see the parents riding with 2, 3 or more kids on their motorbikes to school. Walk past temples and hear children chanting scriptures. Have breakfast like the locals, sitting at makeshift tables along the road and watch the villagers go about their business. Get lost in the maze of streets and then ask for directions, you will be amazed at how helpful the villagers are.
3. NIGHT MARKET
Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, the night market (only 2 mins walk away!) which comes alive from 5pm is the favourite hang out of the locals. You will hardly find any tourist here. Here, you get a real experience of Chiang Mai's culture and the locals' warmth hospitality; taste Northern Thailand's various mouth watering delicacies. (See pictures) Unlike the more commercial Night Bazaar and Sunday Market, there is no need for bargaining here because their prices are guaranteed to be the lowest.
Getting around is very convenient. We are located very near to Super Highway which pretty much links up the major sights of Chiang Mai. Going up north on the Super Highway brings you quickly to the famous Doi Suthep, Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai Zoo, the vibrant Nimman Road, Kad Suan Kaew Shopping Mall, the Inner City (aka Walled City); traveling by bicycle or the mini red bus brings you to River Bin in 10 mins, Walled City in 15 mins; Chiang Mai Bus Station is 1km away, the railway station is 1.5km away, the airport is a quick 15-min drive away.
Old City - 15 mins
Airport - 15 mins
River Bin - 10 mins
Chiang Mai Train Station - 10 mins
Chiang Mai Bus Station - 5 mins

Read what my guests have said about the apartment.
"I had a perfect time in Gideons very nice flat. The location is great, close to big C and plenty of coffee shops and thai food stalls nearby. In the weekend, a small market around the corner is definitely worth checking out, as this is real thai, and much less the usual chang beer t-shirt, thai-boxin stuff etc etc "souvenirs". At the market, we were the only non thai there.
If you dare, it is easy to rent a motorbike and enjoy the city from this. In the apartment complex is a free guarded parking area. Finding back to the apartment is fairly easy, as it is close to the super highway. If you dare not, Gideon offers a perfect taxi service.
To me Gideons place was perfect. I found the city center of Chiang Mai very touristic (not really a suprise), and thus getting home to the apartment gave a small break from all the fuzz of the center. Especially with a trip to the pool.
If you plan to stay in chiang mai, Gideons place is perfect for everyone. The neighborhood feels very safe, most taxi drivers know the apartment (or they can take you to big C, 2 min away) and the apartment itself is just wonderfull. I would definitely recommend it :) " Jeppe
"Our trip in Chiang Mai was wonderful. This apartment is very good. There were all we needed. The apartment was very clean and cute and cozy. We didnt meet with the host Gideon because of his absence in Chiang Mai. But we met his brother Wilson. Wilson is very good host. He picked us up from train station and showed us our home and shops not far away. It was really very nice from his side. The apartment is very good. There is office manager in the first floor. This woman helped us to make laundry and with other stuff. The apartment is very good located. We rent a motobike. And this apartment is not far away from super highway. Because of it we could reach what we want very fast. Big C Extra - very big supermarket where you can buy everything - is only 5 minutes by walk. Thank you very much for this good and cozy apartment!" Larissa
"Gideon Place are Awesome! Very clean, spacious, comfortable. Nice restaurants nearby, and a BIGC a few blocks. The only thing it's far from the old town, but with a motorbike there's no problem. Near the condo, on friday's there's a nice night market, selling everything. We highly recomend Gideon condo if you wanna fell a local thai life."
"Gideon was so helpful and always very responsive. The apartment itself exceeded expectations and was located in a centralized area in Chiang Mai, getting around the city was not an issue." Tiara
"It was great to meet Gideon during our stay at the condo, he started off by introducing us to a local affordable buffet spot and a bit of a walking tour of the neighborhood -- very nice of him to take the extra time to show us around. It's a good location just off the superhighway near the Big C Extra, the condo is spacious, a good layout and secure with access card entry to all amenities. Within walking distance we found some good little affordable Thai restaurants, 7/11 and a Night Market was bustling with shopping options and good food too on the weekends. Overall a good experience, Gideon was new to hosting so there were a few things overlooked that he was quick to come and bring us --- i.e. Towels -- plus he was very accessible via mobile or Line which was great. I'm confident with the feedback we've provided he'll be even more prepared for the next visitors - Thanks Gideon!" Nathan

Gideon's place was very nice. About 10-15 minutes by motorbike from Old City. It's a nice place to stay if you're looking to be a little bit away from the crowd in old Old City or good springing board to head to Lampang for the elephant conservatory. Swimming pool looked very nice but we didn't have time to swim in it. Would recommend staying at Gideon's if you don't want to stay directly in town and have access to a vehicle.
My friend and I stayed here for 4 nights and would rate the room below average. First, there is a clear discrepancy between the photos and what the room actually looks like. The pictures seem to suggest a bright, clean, and welcoming atmosphere however the room is very bare bones and is not decorated as pictured. Further, there are cockroaches in the building we came (email hidden)ly fellow in the washroom as well as on my friend's pillow. Make sure you bring your own bath towels as there were only face towels when we went. Lastly, I found that not many taxi drivers actually knew where Jigsaw was; best bet is to walk to the Big C Extra to grab a taxi. We certainly recommend the $69 baht buffet that is just a 5 min walk and is identified in the map that is provided.
Gideon is really a nice guy.And Zak residence is also good!Gideon 会说中文 中国的朋友可以选择预定 谢谢gideon！
The flat is so nice! Comfortable, modern, spacious and clean. The pool downstairs is good, and the receptionists are really helpful with booking tours, taxis etc. We met Gideon briefly and he was so welcoming and helpful too, advising us on the best tours and things to do in Chiang Mai. The flat is walking distance from Big C (5 mins), a large supermarket complex which has ATMs, a McDonalds and a large food court too. It is also walking distance (10 mins) from Payap University, so this flat would be useful for anyone studying or visiting there.
It isn't very close to the centre of Chiang Mai. We saw this as an advantage, as it was much quieter, more peaceful and much more authentically Thai (though modern) than the centre. Taxis/songthaews to and from the centre are only about 200 baht as well.
Although Chiang Mai can get quite hot, the flat is on the shady side of the building so you don't have to use the air conditioning much. This is good as the electricity for the flat is added on as an extra on top of the cost of your stay. We used about 256 baht of electricity for a week's stay, but we hardly used the air con.
The WiFi is good, with a download speed of 9Mb/s and an upload of 0.9Mb/s.
One thing any guest here must try is the massage parlour in the complex, which is just heavenly and very good value (180-400 baht/hr for various kinds of massages). Although it was only advertised as having the towels and things changed every few days, they were actually changed and the flat cleaned on every working day while we were there.
I would find this place hard to find any fault with, though I did find the bed very firm. The hosts do not use the AirBnb mechanism for a security deposit, and instead ask for a substantial cash deposit which is then returned at the end of the stay. This cash deposit is a fairly large negative, as you're then left with a lot of cash when you may be about to leave Thailand. They should definitely move to using the AirBnb website mechanism.
Although we stayed a whole week here, I really want to come back Chiang Mai again just to stay here, and I would recommend this flat without any hesitation!
Nice location and super friendly staff. The room could use some maintenance and cleaning as it was well used. Location is very convenient, beats the hassle of the traffic downtown.
I decided to try out airbnb for the first time and get a different perspective of Chiang Mai. I had been staying right outside of the walled city, and I much preferred that location. The condo was away from Chiang Mai's charm. Conveniences like the Big C don't appeal to me. I only had 2 nights there and arrived on a Sunday when many of the local businesses and restaurants were closed. I did get a great local breakfast on my last morning there. I did not like the food at the Zak house restaurant. Take advantage of the free shuttle to downtown. I used it for the Sunday night market, and after all that commotion, it was nice to come back to something more quiet. Reception staff was nice. I got my laundry done there. I nearly left without a couple of items. They were still drying in the back, but nobody told me; I just happened to realize a few things were missing. The condo was nice.
Our Stay In Gideons Accom.
well - we needed to be in Chiang Mai at the last minute and Gideon was able to accommodate us in one of his units. the accommodation was quit adequate - nothing fancy but certainly did the job. Rather unusual that they only supply 2 cups - 2 plates (plastic) and 2 spoons etc in the unit. - I guess they have a reason for this but we found it unusual. - the bed was not the most comfortable I have slept in - I am fairly heavy and it is a cheap mattress but it was clean and did the job. it is close to the mall an dnot too far to even walk to the new super mall in Chiang Mai - although no one seems to walk but catch a tuk tuk..
I would be careful with letting them do your laundry tho - they charged us over 3000bt (which is very expensive in Thai terms) and destroyed one of my wife's hand made silk shirts. I had even asked them to be particularly careful with her shirts.. They burnt a hole in it and scorched it with an iron - the lady offered me 30bt reduction the laundry fee - the shirt was virtually new & cost a lot more than that.. :)
It's a very nice condo a little bit outside of the city centre of Chiang Mai. By taxi it's easy to go to the city centre. The only bad thing about the condo was, that it was a little bit dirty. It was ok but it could be cleaner. We didn't meet Gideon. But there is a reception at the front door. They are very friendly and helping you all the time. It's also easy to wash your clothes, have a swim in the pool or go to the fitness room. At all it was a nice stay at Gideon's condo.
Gideon's place was great!
Very clean, neat and tidy, and very comfortable. We used the pool in the condo complex almost every day. For those who want a light workout, there is a basic gym in the complex. For those wanting a more heavy workout, there is a larger gym just around the corner.
Big C is only a few minutes walk away, as is 7-11 and the thai market.
Gideon's kitchen was also great as we could indulge in making our own porridge and having breakfast in bed.
Condo staff are great. Reception has a great washing service which we utilised 3 times a week.
All in all a great place that's only around 4-5 k from Chiang mai centre. We had our own bicycles, so enjoyed the ride in, but Gideon does provide a taxi service if booked in advance.
