Life in Bali is very casual. Rules don't feature much here. Time is said to be "rubber" and traffic flows by courtesy and intuition. So the rule in Bali is "Be nice to everyone."
We loved everything about this place. It was designed with an eye for beauty. The interior and exterior flowed as one providing an exquisite sense of tranquility. Tasteful decor and art work adorned this home with every turn of the head. The landscaping and water gardens were terrific and the pool a perfect relief at the end of the day. The district was above the business of Ubud taking us into the forest and rice paddies of Ubud's natural world. Noelle was an interesting and helpful host and the house staff were excellent. The Yellow Flower Cafe, only 100 metres away, was a gastronomic treat with quality fresh foods and loving service on the menu.Staying at Noelle's was a great choice. My husband, 17 year old daughter and I would happily return again and highly recommend this listing to others.
My family of 4 (2 kids ages 8 and 11) loved the house and garden. The upstairs bedroom has the most wonderful views of rice paddies and the garden/pool. Lovely outdoor seating areas both upstairs and downstairs where we spent mornings playing cards and other games we'd brought. Evenings kids loved watching the fire flies in the rice paddies.
The house is well furnished with lots of art and carved pieces. House is colorful and airy.
It is is almost next door to a great cafe - Yellow Flower. The house is on a hill which requires you walk up few flights of steps - but manageable. There is a porter to help with heavy bags. And really when you're up there - its stunning. Staff was very discrete.
Special thanks to the driver, Wayan - who was very accommodating. My son had a carving tool accident and Wayan was so helpful getting us to the hospital.
Lovely home and experience!
Juste exceptionnel.
I am happy that Oxana enjoyed her visit. I was not here myself so cannot speak about the dust...but my house is cleaned every day. In the tropics when houses are open to the wind it is very easy for dust to blow in every day. There is someone to help carry bags up the hill if organised, it is because we are at the top that we have beautiful breezes and do not suffer from the heat as many other parts of bali suffer. it is because we are in the rice fields that there is sometimes a lot of water flowing, however I will do what I can to make it sound less when a lot of water is flowing. Best wishes Noelle
Noelle's "Casa des Artistes" is exactly as described - an Oasis amongst the rice paddies and a wonderful retreat form the world - we had such a great stay and the staff where helpful and sweet to us. Very happy we got to meet Noelle, a very talented and interesting person who was a great host. Thanks so much and we hope to return. Michele & Barry May 2013 - On a note just a short stroll into the main streets of Ubud and close to the Bintang supermarket for supplies. Kitchen was well stocked and functional great for me as I love to cook!
