Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Deborah was very welcoming, very helpful (sent us emails during our stay etc). The kitchen was available to us at all time, the house was very quiet, and not far from the subway (red line, 5-10 minutes walk, and 20 minutes from the city center). The neighborhood was very safe and close to Harvard square. However, the house wasn't spot on clean, and it was way to hot in the other rooms (there was air conditioning in our bedroom, so that was perfect!).

  • Our host, Deborah Lee, and our stay were just what we wanted. A quiet, beautiful room in a lovely house in a neighborhood full of shops with the subway a few blocks away. In the short time we stayed with her, she made us feel as if it were our home . Fruit, cereal, bagels and other food for breakfast; towels, extra blankets and so on. The room was bigger than the photo shows it. She was helpful when we needed her, and leading her own life when we wanted to be by ourselves. We much preferred staying at her place to a hotel. The best of both worlds.

  • I had a conference to attend at Harvard. Unfortunately, all the hotel rooms were booked up (not to mention ridiculously expensive). I found Deborah's house near campus and made the decision to stay with her.

    An awesome decision.

Deborah is so sweet and accommodating. She waited up for me when I arrived late. I was starving, so she let me chow on some Cheerios. She showed me around and is very generous in the use of her place. She even had the air conditioner put in during my stay because it was unseasonably warm in Boston.

The room was perfect for my needs. The room is a little smaller, so if you're traveling with more than a few, it might be a little squeezed. Perfect for solo and couples, though. The room has a desk you can work at and some storage for your clothes and stuff.

The location is perfect. You're a 5' from the north end of Harvard's campus. The Porter Station subway stop is a short walk away. There's a grocery store, coffee shops, bars, restaurants all a very short walk from her street. The neighborhood is so charming, you'll find yourself just wandering around to look at the architecture.

Simply put, Deborah's amenities and hospitality made me wish I was staying longer than two days. I went intending on it being a short trip, but I found myself wanting to stay longer. If you're looking for a place to stay, look no further and book her room now.

  • Nice and clean room in a really nice neighborhood. Deborah is a great host, very welcoming and sees that you are comfortable although you don't her around so often. She made sure that I have no problems in check-in late night. The place is really close to Harvard square which makes it even more appealing. I would definitely recommend to stay here. Better than expected!

  • I had such a fabulous experience staying with Deborah - she is generous, kind, and incredibly welcoming. I stayed at her home for 11 days in April while I attended a course on Harvard campus. The location was perfect - a lovely, scenic neighbourhood with a 10 minute walk to class and 15 minute walk to Harvard square. The room was spacious, comfortable and quiet, and the bathroom was completely available for my use during the trip. Deb and I enjoyed several lovely conversations over tea, and she even invited me to attend a family celebration during my visit. I felt completely at home and would certainly stay with her again. Thanks Deb!

  • My husband, 9-month-old son, and I stayed at Deborah's place for three nights for my husband's law school reunion. The location was amazing -- easy walking distance to Harvard and Porter Squares -- and the room was really comfortable and clean. Deborah was a wonderful host. We would definitely stay with her again!

I have lived in my house in Cambridge for nearly forty years, during which I have shared the space with family and first-floor tenants. Though my children are grown, I love my neighborhood and appreciate the sense of community. I know well the advantages of this location, and I always enjoy connecting people with historic and cultural resources. In keeping with these enthusiasms, I volunteer as a guide at deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln and participate in projects at a community art center near my house. Currently a freelance writer and editor of educational materials, I keep a home office but still have one guest room that is not used often enough. I think the room would prove to be a comfortable base for someone attending a conference or exploring the Boston area.
