Ask us to organise your Holiday:
You can let us guide you through our favourite towns and villages: go to the steep and sleepy town of Spello, taking your time over lunch, and enjoy a leisurely afternoon....or take a slow journey discovering the works of Piero della Francesca, from Arezzo to Urbino.
Or again, stick closer to home: enjoy a morning hunting for wild asparagus or fungi in the woodlands near the house. Learn how to make your own gnocchi with a nonna from the village.
At the end of each day, dinner can be waiting for you in Gudiolo. You can spend the evening drinking Umbrian wines and savouring traditional dishes, whilst planning the following day or expand your knowledge of the art and history you experienced during your day by discussing it at dinner with a local expert.
Rates on request (including breakfast, dinner, transportation in a minibus and pick-up from airport or train station if required).
We stayed for 4 nights at gudiolo! master bedroom.
Madeleine is a warm and caring hostess. We enjoyed the interesting conversations, home- made meals, fresh breakfast and all the good tips! The place is located beautifull surrounded by nature and very close to Perugia. If you search for a wonderfull place in the heart of umbria where you feel like home, just book this accomodation. You won't regret it!
I stayed with my husband and two daughters for 3 nights in late May at Gudiolo tower. For those seeking a spectacular immersion in glorious Umbrian landscape and beautiful rooms, it is a perfect getaway. Though it rained for much of our stay, we could easily hang out on the many terraces or in the lovely sitting room, browse through books and enjoy stimulating and interesting chats with our most delightful hostess Madeleine who speaks innumerable languages and, though highly sophisticated, is very warm and incredibly welcoming. In fact, though we arrived unconscionably late - way past midnight on our first night - we were nonetheless greeted with blankets, hot herbal tea and snacks -- and the warmth of an open fire on the terrace! Never expected such a special experience and am looking forward to a repeat performance in the near future. Though the tower is secluded as if in a world apart -- many sights (Arezzo, Cortona, Assisi and even Urbino) are within easy reach. Very highly recommended even for the most sophisticated traveler who has seen it all.
