The neighborhood

The village and people who live in this village are quite extraordinary. The village itself has narrow winding cobblestone lanes reaching right up to a magnificent old church. One can spend hours just stopping and staring on the configuration of an archway over an old door or an ancient family crypt. The cafe bar is situated right in the center of the village where you can sit and watch the world go by or there is always someone to chat to as well. It also does superb pizza and a delicious hot baked camembert.

This house has the most amazing balcony overlooking the river - we spent all our nights there counting stars (so many!) and enjoying excellent Saint Chinian Reds from the area. Staying in Roquebrun was the best decision we ever made, we swam in the nearby Gorges d'Heric, canoed down the river orb, visited St Guilhelm le Desert and even Norman Foster's Millau Viaduct. It was easy to find free parking around Roquebrun, and there was a huge Carrefour 15 min away by car outside of Cessenon sur Orb. There are only a few eateries in town with limited operating hours but the house had such a well equipped and well stocked kitchen we cooked most of the time. The house had three bedrooms, two with queen beds and one with two singles in the attic, there were also two bathrooms so it was perfect for six. There was an oven, hairdryer and best of all a fridge which dispensed cold filtered water and ice to keep us cool during summer. The wifi worked great after we connected to the booster units. Anna was so super nice and welcomed us with bottles of beer and a tour of the house. She left detailed information around the house and was a text and phone call away. We loved Roquebrun and cannot wait to come back again!

I had a wonderful stay in this lovely place. The view from Arianna's two balconies is breathtaking and the house is very central. Arianna is kind and helpful. It's definitely a place to stay if you want to enjoy "le charme" of Roquebrun.

What a lovely place !!! A perfect location right in the center, a clean, spacious and very tastefully designed house with a cozy and charming interieur gives you the feeling of home in the middle of this gorgious french village of Roquebrun. The views from the balconies are stunning making the meals such a pleasure and the river is a mere 3min on foot away for a cooling bath, what a treat... The communication with Arianna was 10 out of 10, the WiFi is at speed, the kitchen spacious and very well equipped with everything you could wish for, the beds were new and the bathrooms very clean and modern. Restaurants, a supermarket, bakery and funky vinebar within 5min walking distance, what a privilege.... Thank you so much, Arianna.

Roquebrun is a very nice place to stay and Arianna’s house is wonderful! The view is really amazing! We spent a lot of time on the two balconies only enjoying the landscape, the fresh air and the silence – watching the birds in the sky or people and cars crossing the bridge. It’s a three-flour-house with well-equipped kitchen, comfortable living room, two bathrooms (one with shower/one with bathtub) and very nice bedrooms. I would have liked the blue room to take home and felt like a little princess in this nice bed, opening the shutters in the morning and seeing the sun wake up over the hills. In the off-season Roquebrun is very quiet but some of the bars, restaurants and the supermarket are open. The house is situated on the hill but easy-to-reach and parking nearby was no problem. Last but not least: Arianna is wonderful host, very thoughtful and attentive. We had a marvelous stay and would like to come back soon.

The house owner greeted us with a bottle of champagne and was easy to get in contact with when needed. We spent a week in this charming house in beautiful Roquebrun, perfectly located for exploring the northern parts of Languedoc. The village also has a nice little wine bar/bistro where the friendly owner will guide you through the natural wines of the region (and beyond). If you're looking for a relaxed holiday in an area of picturesque medieval villages, this is the place!

We rented Arianna´s apartment in Roquebrun for a week in July, and had a wonderful time. The village is gorgeous, especially the river beach. There are several pleasant restaurants, and plenty to see and do in the surrounding area (canoes, cycling, Montpellier etc). The apartment itself is perfect: it has three pleasant bedrooms overlooking the river, a nice sitting room and a spacious, well-equipped kitchen. Best of all is the terrace overlooking the river and village, a wonderful place for sunset dinners. Arianna was a great host, always contactable and very pleasant and easy to deal with. She even left us a chilled bottle of rosé in the kitchen for our arrival. We can heartily recommend both Roquebrun and Arianna´s flat. Tobias, Ana & Tom
