The Space

Hi! Welcome to my place!
I will gladly help you optimize your stay in my city and answer any questions about it and the accommodation.

I have a luminous and modern studio apartment with a cozy balcony and most amenities you could ask for, incl Wifi. It is on a 5 minutes walking distance to the absolute centre of Gothenburg and in addition you have several tram lines ( and busses) passing just outside the gate, connecting you with touristicly attractive places like Ullevi, Liseberg and the Swedish exhibition and congress centre at Gothia Towers in a few minutes. Or just talk a walk as they are in walking distance :)
There is also a bicycle renting place 100m away.

The flat is furnished with a double bed (160x200cm), a large comfy sofa, foldable dinner table able to sit 4 persons, Flatscreen TV, Wifi and a modern kitchen with all the appliances you need. The apartment house has three bookable laundry rooms plus an "on call laundry" which is first come first served. You can also book the spacious sauna for a relaxing bath.

The neighborhood is a safe one with lots of restaurant around and you have a grocery store just around the corner on the paralell street. A visit to the popular and "aptly" named sports bar Glenn is a must, as the football chant goes; everyone's called "Glenn" in Gothenburg! And don't miss the breakfast at the charmy Cafe de Paris just across the grocery store COOP - It's also a must when staying here in Svingeln - the staff is friendly and you get a great breakfast for a low price!

Olskroken, which is just one stop away has a small fish market, grocery stores and plenty restaurants. From there I also recommend visiting the cemetery and some of its impressive views and graves. Not to mention the Indian restaurant Marsala on Nobelplatsen.

Check in & out times are flexible depending on availability and If I'm off to sea on the particular dates that you want to rent my place I'll have my girlfriend Cathrine or dear friend Markus give you the key and show you the flat. They can also answer questions about the city and Cathrine keeps a good track of what goes on around town.

The apartment is animal - and smoke free. I have no cleaning fee because I expect you too leave the place as tidy as it was upon your arrival.
And please take the time to make a substantial profile because I only accept guests that feel genuine. It only takes a few minutes to update it with your offline ID etc. As you can understand, I am renting my home out and want to make sure I can trust my guests.

Feel free to ask any questions!

  • We (with my boyfriend and two of our kids) had a great stay in Viktors apartment!
Both before and during our stay it was easy to communicate with our host with messages.

Stina, his friend, was the one to meet us and show us around. She was also serviceminded and assured us it was no problem to contact her if we needed something, or would like some traveltips for exploring Gothenburg.

This time our main "mission" for our visit was to watch and follow up our third child, who was part of a team participating the handball-cup called Partillecup.

We were around the city and the Partillecup-fields from early morning to early/late nights. It felt reel good to come "home" to an apartment where we could cook our own food, and had a balcony we could sit talking after the kids fall asleep. Much better than the experience we have with staying at hotels.

Another guest writing here before us wrote that it was terrible with the sound of the trams passing by outside. We tought about it the first night, but then got used to it and fell asleep easily also with the balconydoor open. When we book a place to stay in a big city we know it will be some outsidenoise.

If/when we are going back to Gothenburg we will definitely check out if Viktors studio apartment is available!

Thank you Viktor and Stina :-)

  • This apartment is not near anything, it is a good 15-20 minute walk to The Avenue in the city center and though there are trams, they cost about $4-5/journey (Sweden is expensive) which adds up rather quickly. Even the least sensitive of sleepers will have trouble with the extremely loud noise the trams make late at night and early in the morning as they go directly by the balcony. Since there is a turn in the tracks right outside they make a terrible screeching sound that I can still hear as I write this. I asked Viktor if he could please provide me with a fan to cool the apartment during the warmer summer months instead of opening the door at night, but he simply said no, unlike all my other hosts in Scandinavia who were willing to make the gesture. Apparently this was a sign of things to come. For the entire stay I was provided with a small dirty bath towel and the cutlery and dishes were filthy as well. My advice is to stay at an apartment or hotel in the center where you may pay a little more but not have to deal with staying so far out of town. The cost of the trams will add up to be more expensive than a place in the center anyway, and hopefully you won't have to constantly hear them the way that I did. I lost so much sleep I was like a zombie my entire stay in Gothenburg. If you can find a decent hotel in the center for less than $150 it would be a much better deal than this place.

    Response from Viktor:

I've been a Airbnb host for one and a half year and I've had 31 great guest in total that have stayed in my place. Bradley was number 32 and unfortunately the first one I had to write a negative but honest review of so that other Airbnb hosts would get a true picture of him as a house guest. Please disregard his vitriolic review above and read all the true reviews from my previous guests below and feel free to ask me anything via message.

  • Viktor's place is in a great location to explore Gothenburg. It's about a 15 minute walk or 4 minute tram ride from the train station, and easily accessible to other parts of town. The apartment itself is very nice, clean and well furnished. It's in a secured building so it felt very safe. A great spot in Gothenburg!

  • Viktor was an excellent and a very helpful host. His friend Markus was the one who let us in, everything worked smoothly. The location is great, a 5 minute walk from Ullevi and trams passing just outside the building, taking you anywhere in the city.

  • Viktor's apartment is the most beautifully furnished and cozy I have ever stayed in. His amenities are incredible, and he has compiled this great "guest manual" in which you can find anything you need, from where to rent a bike to how to book the sauna. It is fantastic.
I had the chance to meet his girlfriend first, because he was out of town, and she was amazing also, even calling me to let me know about fun things going on in town!
I also got to meet him on my check-out, and he is really easygoing and fun.
I enjoyed my stay at his place immensely, and hope to be back soon!

  • Viktor and Cathrine were very helpful and easy to communicate with. The apartment is very cosy and perfect for a couple. It's a really handy location and super easy to get anywhere using the trams or bikes. Also close by is a department store and some pizzerias and cafes. I would stay here again and would recommend to others.

The apartment was clean and we have really enjoyed staying there. There is also a very nice place to have breakfast just around the corner (across the road, in front of the coop supermarket)

Hi! I'm a sailor and music lover from Gothenburg, Sweden who is currently studying the master mariner program at Chalmers Uni. As you might surmise from my line of work I'm very interested in traveling and not only on the high seas. I find myself away from my flat on and off and because of that, my little gem of an apartment in central Gothenburg seeks new tenants. If I'm off to sea on the particular dates that you want to rent my place I'll have my girlfriend Cathrine or dear friend Markus give you the key and show you the flat.
