The Space

CASA ERIN is a peaceful oasis off a busy street without noise from the traffic. It is located In trendy NOPA [North of Panhandle] in the geographical heart of San Francisco which is also a very safe area.
Charming 2 bedroom with gourmet kitchen and magical private garden. There is a comfortable queen bed in the master bedroom and a single bed in the smaller bedroom.
The expansive room at the front encompasses the living room, a semi-private office and the state-of-the-art kitchen. It overlooks the beautiful, quiet garden which you are welcome to enjoy. The couch in the living room opens into a sofa bed for 2 more guests, if necessary. There is a brand new 42 inch TV and free wi-fi.
Private washer and dryer on back deck. The bathroom has both a shower and a tub.
The trendy Nopa neighborhood has many restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance. Golden Gate Park, the De Young Museum, University of San Francisco, and Haight Street are also all within easy walking distance.
One block away there are buses to the downtown, the Ocean and the Marina. They run every 3-5 minutes.
Because the owner is a professional art historian, the art on the walls largely consists of reproductions of famous Renaissance paintings -- probably the only such decoration in San Francisco!

  • Overall great experience! The host was very friendly and helped us out a few times with missing household items. There was a little bad smell when entered the apartment. Not a big deal for us, but thought I'd mention this. The place is close to golden gate park and downtown is about 4 miles away.

Again.. good times at this place.

  • We had a lovely time in San Francisco celebrating our daughter's graduation from law school. Casa Erin made that visit very enjoyable because it is well located. The apartment was nicely furnished and equipped. It slept 4 adults by using the sofa in the living room that opens up. We also used the washer and dryer in the back. The only dilemma was the parking which is common all over San Francisco. Fiona was very helpful and answered all our questions. She provided WiFi which helped us do the searches we needed to do. I would highly recommend staying at Casa Erin for anyone who is visiting San Francisco, especially if you want to be close to USF. By the way, I loved the hints of Irish décor and art - it was very beautiful.

  • Fiona went above and beyond! She was very responsive and helpful online when I had questions before I booked. The apartment was exactly as described and depicted in the photos. The bed was VERY comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The neighborhood is great! It was so convenient to have a grocery store a block away and restaurants/cafes/bars so close by. Not to mention the Panhandle and Golden Gate park!

  • This apartment was very well situated for our needs, close to friends and especially close to a grocery store. There were three of us, and we were pleased to each have our own private sleeping arrangements. The kitchen has all modern appliances. Fiona quickly attended to the couple of glitches on day one.

  • My family and I stayed in Fiona's apt for 3 nights. This was our first experience with airbnb, and to be honest the first impression wasn't good. The place wasn't clean and had a strong cat's pee smell. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes and glasses, and the wardrobe of the rooms were a mess. We had to put everything in order by ourselves, to leave the small carpets in the balcony to avoid the smell (it diminished but not dissappeared) and to buy an air-freshener.
Moreover, the apt has a lack of maintenance: 3 or 4 lights didn't turn on, the lock of the bathroom's door was broken and we couldn't roll the roller-curtain of the kitchen. Unfortunately, Fiona never showed up.
On the other side, is fair to say that the apt was spacious, really quiet, with fully equipped (it only needs a toaster) and well located, near a big supermarket and many restaurants. The parking is a bit difficult at all time.
Our conclusion was that in general the apt was fine but the owner has to take more responsability for it and her guests, and definitively do something to get rid of the cat's pee smell !!

  • I stayed at Fiona's place with my wife and three boys for 8 days(March,2014). I would definitely go back. The apartment looked freshly renovated and had everything we needed. Fiona was there(she lives upstairs in a separate apartment) to make sure everything was okay. As you are off of the main street it was really quiet and we all slept well. You can walk to a really big grocery store in literally 1 minute, I think it is about 80 meters away. The bus to downtown is less that one block away. It was really nice to have the washer and dryer and all the soap is there too!! All in all you would be mistaken to not stay here. Fiona is a really nice person who will take really good care of you and make sure that your stay in her apartment is a pleasant one. Fiona, thanks so much for making our vacation in San Francisco such a success, all the best. Philip and Valerie

  • Really great place with lots of room. There were 5 of us and we fit comfortably in the space. Beds were great too with plenty of extra linen for the sofa bed.
Location was also very convenient with lots of bus stops in close proximity. Lots of restaurants and bars within short walking distance too!
    Would definitely recommend.

  • Nice apartment - clean, tidy and nicely tucked away from the street so pretty quiet.

Location is nice and we felt safe. Essentials such as supermarket, bus stop, atm, star bucks etc are all within a block with diners & restaurants within a few blocks. Two parks close by including golden gate park which is really impressive. Some great eateries within walking distance, you'll regret not trying Little Star Pizza before you leave : )

Fiona was very nice and hospitable, and was quick to help out when we needed. Would recommend.
