I've traveled a lot and know how much it means to have a cozy welcoming and comfortable place to stay. And whether it's been a ger (yurt) in Mongolia, a round thatched roof house by the seaside on the coast of Senegal, a hotel in Istanbul or an apartment in Paris, I like to know that there will be a pot of good coffee waiting when I wake up in the morning. I'll make sure you have coffee & tea in the morning and at the very least, a continental breakfast--with waffles or pancakes on the weekend!
We are close to transportation into the city (a 5-minute walk to the commuter rail--one stop into Boston), and are on several bus lines that lead to Davis Square and other subway lines. If you are from out of town and have family in one of the area hospitals and are looking for a comfortable place to stay with easy access to the city, this is very convenient, Boston is a great city to visit and I have lots of tips for fun and interesting outings--walks in the city, museums, boat rides to the Boston Harbor Islands in the summertime, restaurants, music and theater.
West Medford is a nice neighborhood for walking--with lots of green space and a lake just down the street (great for a swim in the summer, and nice for a brisk walk in winter). You will find just about all you need within walking distance: banks, post office, dry cleaner, drugstore, coffee shops, pizza and sandwich places. Whole Foods is nearby, as are a number of wine stores. And West Medford is home to award winning Bistro 5 restaurant.
This was really the perfect place to stay to visit my son who is studying at Tufts. He also stayed a few days with us in Jennifer's place and it gave him a break from University. My daughter and I felt very much at home and got the hang of the Boston transport system,
taking a bus from the BNB to Davis Sq and then getting onto the Red line to visit Harvard Sq or Boston. There are more buses during the week then on week-ends but if you miss one, Wholefoods is a 15min walk and Tufts is 30min which is very pleasant in good weather .With the bus you get to Davis Sq in less then 15min.
We slept very well in a nice cosy bed and in a quiet neighbourhood.
We had lovely, healthy breakfasts with home made jams.
And I really miss Jennifer's powerful coffee !
Jennifer nous a accueilli chaleureusement dans sa belle maison de Nouvelle Angleterre. Nous avons apprécie les discussions avec notre hôte. Les petits dejeuners etaient aussi excellent;
C'était un séjour charmant!
Jennifer was great! Her home is lovely and a great retreat after our long drive and the days we put in at our conference. Thanks again!
Jennifer is amazing, was there for just one night and even though it was really short notice, she made me feel welcome and was extremely helpful.
Jennifer has been a lovely host during my stay. Her house is really well decorated, cozy, clean, and comfortable. In the morning, she made delicious coffee and waffles for breakfast and I also learned how to make jam that day! Jennifer is a well cultured lady that is very open minded and fun to talk to. I will never forget her hospitality and would definitely stay at her place again. I would recommend her 100%.
We had a lovely time in Medford! Jennifer is a gracious and accommodating hostess. We enjoyed her home. We came to Medford to visit a local university. Jennifer was very helpful in guiding us in our use of the local bus/metro system. Thank you, Jennifer! I'm sure we will be back!
We had a very nice stay in Medford.
The most important reason for it was Jennifer, always friendly and a really good host.
The rooms were very nice and clean.
The house lies in a quiet area with pleasant neighbours. In close vicinity there is a nice lake where you can relax very well.
The connection to Boston is quite good.
I can only confirm the description on airbnb.
Jennifer, many thanks for your hospitality!
I can only recommend Cozy top floor of house in Medford.
I had a great time staying at Jennifer's. She was very accommodating--staying up for me when I arrived late and making me a delicious (and healthy) breakfast. Jennifer was also a delight to talk to...she even gave me an awesome lesson on African culture.
The place was very clean and well-decorated. I highly recommend!
Fabulous stay. Clean, comfortable, and as described. Jennifer couldn't have been more hospitable, offering a yummy breakfast on her sunny porch each morning (working around various dietary limitations!) Her flat is convenient to Harvard Square, trains, and other local sites. The perfect home-away-from-home when in the Boston area.
Thank you, Jennifer, for being such a gracious host!
We arrived in Boston at 7:30am, after traveling for 12+ hours. We were so grateful that Jennifer welcomed us into her home for such an early check in. We got our much needed sleep in her quiet home in a quiet neighborhood. The breakfast of waffles with fresh blueberries, toasted sliced almonds and yogurt was delicious!
Jennifer's home is comfortable and nicely decorated. If you are traveling with young children, as we were, just be aware that there are a lot of interesting things that the little ones will want to touch but perhaps should not. We did expect this, just based on the photos. Since we only planned to stay one night, we decided we could manage. However, this might not be the best place to stay if you are traveling with curious toddlers.
