Hello, our names are Jeff and Julie and we are co-hosting this listing for our neighbors Todd and Dorothy Ann. We look forward to having you stay here and experiencing all the beauty northern Arizona has to offer.
Jeff is a professional educator originally from Chesterland, OH who currently works for Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ teaching biology and anatomy/physiology. Julie currently works for the Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals (ITEP) as a Senior Program Coordinator. ITEP strengthens tribal capacity and sovereignty through culturally relevant education, research, partnerships and policy-based services. In her part time, Julie works as a backpacking guide for the Wildland Trekking Company running multi-day trips into the Grand Canyon.
Together, using our passion for the outdoors and grassroots organization, we run the Flagstaff EcoRanch. It is our goal to further integrate the EcoRanch into the Flagstaff community in order to raise awareness about environmental and sustainable issues. We are highly motivated individuals who love being in the outdoors hiking and exploring with our two young boys, Journey and Quest.
The money received through our own Airbnb listing has funded the Flagstaff EcoRanch and supported our student led projects like water catchment systems, greywater and irrigation projects, setting up a local CSA, and designing educational programs for local schools and organizations. Although we are taking a break from the EcoRanch this year, we will (of course) be growing as much of our own food as possible and continue to experiment with new systems for sustainable agriculture and indoor sustainability projects.
We look forward to having you stay nearby and hope that while here, not only will you be able to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the area, but learn more about the Flagstaff community.
Have a great day and we hope to see you soon!
