We love our home on a dead end dirt road, quiet and private, yet close to all you need and want when you think of VT. Ski (Mt. Snow or Stratton), hike, swim, enjoy local fare at great restaurants or shop the Brattleboro Farmer's Market or food coop. Enjoy a swim at the covered bridge in Dummerston or at the convergence of the Rock and the West Rivers. Or drive up Newfane Hill to Grout Pond.

The space
The apartment has all you need - a comfy queen size bed in a loft space with great views of the tree tops, a small but full kitchen with microwave, a bathroom with a tub and shower. The stairs to the loft are steep and narrow with a sturdy handrail, so be sure you are comfortable with that. The bathroom is located on the lower floor, so you will have to come down the stairs to use the bathroom at night. The apartment is in our home, but it is a separate space with its own entrance.

Where you’ll be

Newfane, Vermont, United States

We live on a dirt road, just a few miles from Newfane and 12 miles from downtown Brattleboro. We are close to great skiing: 18 miles to Mt. Snow, 28 miles to Stratton and 44 miles to Okemo. The Putney School has groomed x-country ski trails free to the public, and Grafton Ponds (fee area) makes snow for x-country skiing. Excellent road and mountain bike options close by, as well as endless hiking. Swim in the West River or Grout pond. Kayak on Sunset Reservoir or the Connecticut River. Great restaurants in Brattleboro and other surrounding towns. Some of our favorites are the Whetstone Brewery with views of the CT river, Panda North, for Chinese or sushi, and the Dam Diner for good diner fare. Or cook in using VT's amazing local food, found at either the Putney or Brattleboro Co-ops, or the wonderful Brattleboro Farmers Market, held on Saturdays year round!

I love to travel and explore with my partner, Chuck. We love getting outside, hiking, biking, skiing, camping, any outside activity. We like to go with the flow and we like to travel light. We live in VT and love it there, but we also love the west.
