The space
Private Entrance, Private Full Bath within walking distance to all of Hudson!

Queen-sized bed. The room is approximately 15' x 18'.

This is a budget space in the TRANSITIONAL part of town - clean and comfortable and a short two-block walk to all that Hudson has to offer - Hudson Hall, The Maker, coffee shops, restaurants - all within a five minute walk.

This is a space for people who enjoy their privacy - with a private entrance and a private bath. If you need anything, text me, I live upstairs with my two pups.

The space is located on State Street between 3rd and 4th, a short walk to Warren Street.

Use the park two doors down to walk to the staircase and down to Warren Street - two short blocks, a few minutes away.

The history of the space:

During the Revolutionary War, the British attacked Nantucket and stole the whale oil. The Quaker whalers were like, 'Forget this, we're outta here!'

They bought land in upstate New York and figured, 'Hey, we're traveling thousands of miles on the ocean getting these whales, what's another hundred miles up the Hudson River?'

Hudson is a whaling town in upstate New York, and that's why you see whales on the signs. The whalers picked up everything and moved and founded Hudson - including (and this is debatable) their HOUSES!!

(At least their STYLE of Nantucket/Cape Cod box houses with a second floor of eyebrow windows.)

This house is called a "floater" because it floated over on a whale boat from Nantucket. The house is about 200 years old. The Airbnb space is in the old kitchen (heat rises to warm the rest of the house) and you'll find a bread oven behind the latched panel.

The space was totally renovated in 2015. Radiant heat coils are under the cement floor with hot water on-demand. There are original wood panels and a new bathroom. You will find original stairs showing 200 years of wear and tear.

Enjoy!

Guest access
Private Access via front of the house. Ground level, under staircase.

I will give you a code for the door prior to arrival.

Other things to note
Three small dogs live in the house above, you may hear them bouncing around once in a while.

The hot water is on-demand. It gets very hot, very quickly. Be careful.
The TV is a SmartTV with a Roku stick. You'll have access to Roku channels, Netflix, Hulu, Disney, HBO/Max. There is no cable TV.

Neighborhood highlights

State Street is an up-and-coming Hudson street, similar to what most of Hudson was like about fifteen years ago, prior to all the renovations.

I feel safe walking around this neighborhood, it's a small town. You will see come vacant houses.

This is a simple, comfortable space.

There's a little park two doors down that will take you to the staircase and two short blocks to the middle of Warren Street and the Opera House, making it an ideal central location.

Shop up and down beautiful Warren Street - go out to Club Helsinki around the corner!

Most of Hudson is within walking distance - restaurants, bars, shops!

There are at least a half-dozen restaurants within a two block radius and many more in the rest of town.

EV chargers are located in the parking lot behind City Hall - Columbia Street between 5th and 6th Streets, a five-ten minute walk from space.

I spent over twenty years living in Manhattan - processing derivative trades, reconciling accounts, and implementing systems on Wall Street. Now I live in Hudson, organize events, bake cookies, and run an AirBnB space. No more beige cubicles for me - every day is a vacation day!
