We spent a wonderful week in this lovely cottage recently. The cottage was just perfect for my family and I. It has everything you need for cooking, washing etc. The village of Carraigaholt is in a great location for exploring this beautiful part of west Clare. There is so much to see and do around here. The scenery is breathtaking and the people are all so friendly. Highly recommended !

The house was exactly as described. The local area is relatively isolated and quiet but we had no trouble finding the place. The local contact Mary Lynch was welcoming and informative. Email contact with Monika was a breeze. The village has several pubs but The Long Dock which is about 70 metres down the road was a standout. If you are looking for a great house to use as your base to explore the surrounding areas then Monika's place is just right. I would certainly recommend Monika's place to all my friends who are looking for somewhere to stay in a very traditional Irish setting and who love being amazed by all the natural wonders that are within easy driving distance.

It's a cosey little cottage with all the amenities you need. There isn't any Internet and the cellphone coverage is very bad because of the area, but the table tennis in the shed, movies, books and boardsgames that Monika has laid out for her guests will surely keep your mind off your phone, and focus on enjoying your stay. We had a fantastic trip and we're looked after. I highly recommend staying in Monika's lovely cottage for anyone looking for accommodation in West Clare

We (4 Girls) stayed for a week in this lovely cottage in a small village in clare. The village itself is very charming. It has several pubs and a really nice restaurant. We felt very welcome because the locals were so nice. The communication was perfect. Monika gave us all necessary information and Mary (the very friendly caretaker) welcomed us within minutes after arrival. What you see on the photos is exactly what you get. We have nothing to complain about concerning interior or cleanliness. The kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed it a lot to have 2 bathrooms. The best for us was the location. It is so very quite and in walking distance to the sea (it is the best to breath in the fresh atlantic ocean air in the morning :). Furthermore you can reach Loop Head (which we most definitely recommend) and Kilkee within minutes. Kilkee is just perfect for doing long walks on the cliffs before going for lunch to the lovely Diamond Rocks Cafe. We enjoyed the cliffs around Kilkee even more than the cliffs of moher, which are very crowded, because we found so many perfect little spots to lay down on the stones and listen to the waves. The distance to the next supermarket was a little bit far (Monika warned us about that point ;), but that wasn't a problem for us, because we passed Aldi and Tesco nearly every day while doing our day trips. Especially if you are travelling with kids, we recommend you to visit the Bunratty Castle. It has an awesome Folk Park, which has a lot to offer for children as well as everyone who is interested in history. Dear Monika, our stay at your house was the perfect getaway from daily routine and we would love to come back and will recommend your house!

Beautiful cottage in carrigaholt, a small village in Clare. There are four pubs in town, one restaraunt (the long dock-food is superb), one gift shop and a small store for necessities. If you are looking for a quiet town, this is for you. We had a great time visiting the cliffs of Moyer, the local lighthouse, the dolphin watch, and we absolutely loved white sands beach!

Monika's cottage is really lovely and myself, my partner, 2 year old daughter and baby son felt very much at home in the lovely cottage. It was perfect for my daughter having the garden/yard out the back and room with table tennis table. The cottage is spacious and had everything we needed so that we were happy to relax indoors when it rained as well as making the most of any sunshine. Carrigholt is a lovely place to stay as the people in the village are really friendly and the loop head peninsula is beautiful and quiet.
