The master bedroom in the clock tower apartment at St Pancras Station, with its own en suite bathroom and use of the main kitchen and dining room and the clock tower itself. It sits in Scott's gothic revival railway hotel building from 1868.
This flat above St Pancras International is in the famous clock tower. A ten metre high room in the tower looks out on many of London's landmarks such as St Paul's Cathedral. A large kitchen on the top floor looks out over Kings Cross Station.
It is within walking distance of many of London's sights, from the British Library next door to the British Museum and the West End 20-25 minutes away. There are lots of shops in St Pancras Station and the best grocery store nearby is Waitrose in the Brunswick Centre.
As the flat is on the 5th floor and fully equipped with secondary glazing, the road and railway noise is very low and almost nobody notices it but I would advise delicate sleepers to be aware of it before booking.
There is additional bedding available by prior arrangement if you want an extra bed or mattress in the room. Clean towels and soap/shampoo are provided as standard.
Little things are provided in the flat, such as London Oyster cards for public transport (electronic cards for you to use and top up), a UK SIM loaded cellphone, a hairdryer, international plug adaptors, umbrella.
The clock tower's height lends itself to some extraordinary events. See YouTube for a video of an aerialist on a rope (Gisele Edwards).
The clock tower was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott like an Italian bell tower but never held bells. The clock never has and does not ring.
This listing is for the master double bedroom and en suite bathroom (plus the main Clock Tower room and kitchen). There is central hi-fi throughout the house and a hifi jack in a wall in the room. The bedroom has just a small TV in it but there is a larger one in the main Clock Tower room.
If there are more than 2 of you or you want a different bed arrangement from a double bed (eg extra mattresses) please discuss this in advance with me before booking.
The principal guest room in the apartment has its own bathroom and is on a separate listing, and both rooms may be occupied by Airbnb guests. So you will likely be sharing the flat with others.
Occasionally the flat is used for day functions, evening pop-up restaurants or photo shoots but I shall try to inform you of any such appointments. Both bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and lockable doors for security. It is also sometimes used by local community groups but I will let you know if it is.
I am as flexible as I can be on arrival and departure but it is essential that visitors consult me on and keep to their plans, so that I can manage my cleaner and bed changing and make sure there aren't two couples competing for the same bedroom at the same time of day.
I am willing to accept the business of one night bookings but reserve the right to ask you to change the bedding for the following visitor if time is tight.

I am not always at St Pancras because I spend a lot of time up in Cambridge where I am finishing the restoration and conversion of some buildings going back to the 16th century. I try to diary to meet my guests if I can but if I am not there when you arrive, the concierge will supply you with the key to the apartment.
If you want to hold a celebration party, please discuss it with me and please be fair to me in following the basic rules. Any events going beyond 2230 normally require a booking to be made for the whole apartment as it is otherwise unfair on other guests. There may be an additional charge for holding a party depending on the scale and duration. A 500 pound security deposit will normally be required for any groups in excess of 20. The main rules are that loud music does not go on beyond 2330, that guests do not mill out into the corridors of the building, that there is no glitter/confetti/paper string and that you agree to pay for any extra carpet cleaning required by large numbers.
Unfortunately we have had a few guests take advantage of us and I do therefore take the time to agree a clear timetable both for the party and for the clean-up. I expect guests to adhere to this not only for my benefit but also for the benefit of the neighbours.
This is a listing for accommodation. You are of course welcome to take as many photographs as you like but if commercial photography shoots have to be booked separately and a higher rate will apply. Similarly, corporate presentations or product launches or dinners do not come under the tariff for the suite for the night's stay.
It is within walking distance of many of London's sights, from the British Library next door to the British Museum and the West End 20-25 minutes away. There are lots of shops in St Pancras Station. The best mainstream grocery store nearby is Waitrose in the Brunswick Centre. There is more public transport within 100m than almost anywhere else on the planet (buses, metro, rail).
What is really exciting about Kings Cross now is its pace of development. New office buildings will house the European HQ of (website hidden) and many other businesses. As offices are completed, they are fully let such is the demand for space in this area.
The opening of new restaurants and shopping facilities now and over the coming years is transforming a former post-industrial desert to one of the most exciting parts of the metropolis.
The public transport is fantastic. There are 5 underground lines and dozens of bus routes as well as the mainline services to the north (St Pancras to Leicester, Sheffield, Derby), the north-east (Kings Cross to Edinburgh, York, Leeds, Cambridge), the south-east (St Pancras to Canterbury, Dover), the continent (St Pancras to Paris, Brussels) and the north-west (Euston to Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester).
All London airports are easy (St Pancras to Luton or Gatwick), the Piccadilly Line to Heathrow), the Metropolitan and DLR to City), the Victoria and mainline train to Stansted) or Liverpool Street to Southend.

This is a great building to stay in. Please do respect the fact that the building is home to many other residents and be careful not to disturb them if you are taking photographs in the common areas.
You may well have other guests staying in the guest accommodation. They have a self-contained kitchen and bathroom and should be able to be completely private other than sharing the front door entrance.
Please respect the books and if you touch them or move them, please leave them where they were.
Please take outdoor shoes off before going down to the bedroom.
Peter made us feel extremely welcome from the moment we arrived at the apartment which is one of the most stunning apartments i have ever seen. The space, the views, the attention to detail in furnishings are superb. The place is unique in every sense and you really get a feeling of staying somewhere very special and i would strongly recommend it. Thank you Peter for a great experience!
My partner and I had a great night in the master suite. Peter responded quickly and helpfully to all correspondence. The apartment is beautiful, and all for the price of a reasonable hotel room (and some not so reasonable hotel rooms). I would encourage anyone to stay here if they have the chance.
Peter was really easy to communicate with and very accommodating, a great host.
Our short stay was was a surprise for my boyfriend's birthday, and it went down incredibly well. As we both live in London, it was great to be able to stay in such a unique space of the familiar yet incredible St. Pancras building.
The original features combined with the creative use of space and view really make this a really impressive and special place. The whole experience was flawless & I can't recommend highly enough!
Peter is a great homeowner, he is so nice and offer some drinks for us, we are still enjoying his stylish house and happy to talk with him. I hope I have chance to attend his afternoon tea party next time. I must suggest my friend to vist his appartment.
Everything about my trip was perfect. Peter was a great host and such an interesting chap.
I stayed with my girlfriend for one night. Everything was as we dreamed.
Can't thank Peter enough.

Hello. Tim and I are pleased to call the Clock Tower of St Pancras our home. This is part of the fast-growing area which is Kings Cross in Central London. Being so well-connected within London, the UK and Europe, thanks to Eurostar, makes the Clock Tower an ideal base for any visit to London.
We moved to Kings Cross 30 years ago and have seen the area change from a dingy area of deserted rail depots and run-down shops to a district full of new restaurants, hotels and shopping and transport connections.
I am a pensions actuary, but nowadays I am involved in many other things, such as property maintenance and development, charity trusteeships, beekeeping and taking holidays myself in Airbnb properties elsewhere.
As a City of London guide myself, I have a passion about the warp and weft of my town and relish the chance to share this enthusiasm with my guests.
We are fond of books and the flat is well-filled with them. We enjoy travel especially to Turkey, music, Mathematics and the cultural opportunities presented by our capital city. I also have an interest in sundials and their design.
Our flat is always ready for visitors. We like to keep it clean and uncluttered, such as you would expect in a good hotel space. But it is not a hotel - it is a home we like to share with you if you stay. We cannot always be there but we will make you feel welcome whether we are or not.
The motto on our sundial - Numquam advenit dies crastinus - tomorrow never comes. Seize the moment while you can.
