Jennifers aptmt was located really central in hcmc and was a good starting point for our explorations of the city! Very prompt and helpful in all requests, easy to find and comfortable for two - would recommend!
We never met jennifer in person though!
One could not find a better location in Ho Chi Minh city - and just for that, it is well worth giving Jennifer's well appointed/designed apartment a try when you next passing through this fabulous city.
The title says it all. Fantastic location with everything within walking distance. The room was well equipped and clean. Jennifer even took the initiative to place some guide books which were helpful. No regrets what-so-ever, we had a wonderful time!
We had a nice stay in this apartment, and the location is great. Prior reviews and the listing accurately describe the place. The shower works well, just need to watch your head if you're 6' like me. Gas stove was nice. View was great, and the bar on the 7th floor is really great for a glass of wine or beer. Jennifer was helpful and responsive. This is a good spot.
Die Unterkunft ist an einer sehr guten Lage. Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Nochmals vielen herzlichen Dank an Jennifer.
Jennifer's apartment was great and she was a great host. My texts and emails were answered within the hour. The apartment was pretty much as described and you couldn't get more central. My only complaint would be the height of the sleeping area. You had to pretty much crawl in and out of bed, so as not to hit your head. This was not a big deal as you are only sleeping there, but added difficulty getting back down the stairs after a few drinks!
We stayed over New Years Eve and up to the lead up to Tet. As the apartment is on the main drag it was very noisy until about midnightish for the evenings surrounding NYE, with plenty of people, scooters, food hawkers and cops clearing people away adding to the cacophony. I imagine it would have been similar as we got closer to Tet. This only will impact you if you want to sleep early.
The flipside to this is that from the apartment you have a wonderful view of the chaos. We stayed in and watched the mayhem below on NYE. Although we couldn't see the fireworks, the partying on the street was exciting enough.
Overall Jennifer's apartment is in a superb location, with amazing views, friendly neighbors and easy access to taxis (there's a Vinasun stand out front) and great food. I intend to stay again on my next trip to Saigon.
Oh, and check out BringAdeira on the 7th floor for cheap Sapporo draft and even better views.
This duplex-style loft is centrally located in District 1, walking distance to plenty of fun bars, clubs, and restaurants. It is in THE area you want to be when visiting Saigon for the first time. The host, a veteran expat in Vietnam, has left a list of vetted clubs, bars, and restaurants - you'll want to go through those instead of relying on a guidebook. The host also gets an A+ in terms of communication. She was always on the ball.
This is a duplex-style loft, where the second level is fairly small, with just enough space to put a mattress and your teddybear. The ceiling is pretty low-hanging, so you'll want to make sure you don't bump your head, especially when going or coming down the stairs. I'm picky about mattresses, but found the mattress very comfortable.
There's a large kitchen, so if you're into making your own meals, this place is perfect. The bathroom has pretty low ceilings, and the heating system to the shower takes a bit of getting used to, in terms of finding where the knobs are and how to turn them.
The living room looks out on Nyguen Hue, a major thoroughfare. It's a quite a sight to look down from the 8th floor at night, and see a hundred motorbikes spinning around like bees. Well-decorated, this flat truly is a home away from home, and a great alternative to just another antiseptic hotel
A little bit of getting used to is the doorman situation - basically, the doorman locks up the front gate after midnight, but if you slip him a dollar or two he gladly and groggily gets up to unlock it for you.
I really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend this flat for anyone who wants to have the experience of having their own home in Vietnam.
I spent the first nights of my trip to Vietnam in Jennifer's apartment. It was a perfect spot for a home base while exploring downtown Saigon, and it is walking distance to everything in District 1. Jennifer, though I didn't get to meet her, was very helpful with tips for food and bars, and when I had questions about the apartment or the city. Also, it's a bargain compared to the hotels nearby!
What a fun place to stay in such an interesting city with so much in reach of this great downtown location.
Through an old building, up an elevator, past a family cooking dinner into a luxurious flat, impeccably decorated with an amazing view.
We enjoyed ourselves so much, and found that two nights was not enough. Definitely do some restaurant research in advance because of so many great options within a kilometer, and give the world class cafe L'usine a try for breakfast or lunch.
Jennifer was in excellent communication the whole way through, from airport through checkout. Overall, a highly recommended stay.
I was there a couple of days. Jennifer is a great Host. The place is in the heart of the city and I can recommend it strongly. The Building itself it an old one but the room is very niced designed. Jennifer is availabe if needed and responds quickly via Whats Up or Phone.
