Come stay in my newly rehabbed house!
There are two bedrooms for rent on the second floor. You can rent one or both depending on the size of your party or sleeping preferences. Pricing is per number of rooms desired, not per guest. One room has a very comfortable organic latex mattress and the other has a very comfortable tall deluxe air mattress. Both rooms have windows, one overlooking a beautiful courtyard and the other with a view of the back patio and flowers. Also on the second floor is a big bathroom with energy-efficient washer and dyer and tiled shower! Use of washer and dryer is available to all guests.
The master bedroom takes up the entire third floor of the house and has three huge skylights that let in beautiful natural light all day. There is a private bathroom as well as desk. If you prefer to stay on the third floor please state this directly in you request and note that pricing will change.
The neighborhood is extremely quiet. The house is located on a small alley in a little nook in Pennsport one block from Federal Donuts, two blocks from The Industry Bar, and a short walk from the Mummer's Museum. All the great bars, shops, and restaurants in Queen Village, Bella Vista, and the Headhouse district are a 5-15 minute walk from here. Riverview Stadium 17 movie theater is just a few blocks away. Easy access to Penn's Landing for ice skating in winter and other music and events in summertime.
It is easy to take public transit to my house and parking is REALLY EASY. There is free plentiful parking less than a block away, available without a permit at all times of day.
I will happily give you suggestions for great places to eat and fun things to do in the city. Looking forward to meeting you!
We have a very sweet Himalayan flame-tipped cat. He is a friendly male.
Note: Only natural and organic cleaners are used in this home. No harsh chemicals. Ideal for someone with multiple chemical sensitivity or many allergies.
Important: I do ask for people to have complete profiles with real pictures and personal information. This is my home, and I like to know who is asking to stay.
Please send me a message with some information about your party and your plans before initiating a reservation request. Thanks!
There are so many great things in this neighborhood -- Grindcore Coffee, Federal Donuts literally 50 feet from the house, the Headhouse Farmer's market on Sundays, the Industry bar, Washington Avenue green and the new Pier Park off Columbus Boulevard, easy access to the Italian Market, East Passyunk/Passyunk Square and much more!
57 Bus runs right outside and takes you to the subway or other bus lines.
Other Things to Note
Close to many great restaurants and easy walking distance from historic downtown Philadelphia.
Absolutely no smoking anywhere on the property, and no shoes upstairs on the carpet please.
Please leave the house in the condition in which you found it.
Please no loud music after 10pm. It's a quiet neighborhood.
Jenny is very nice; she helped me with finding my way around and was always willing to help out. I felt really welcome.
The room is nice and comfortable. There is a private bathroom which is also a big plus. I had access to the livingroom and kitchen and could have cooked if I would have liked to. Wifi is stable.
Within the proximity, there are public transport possibilities and grabbing a cab is also not very problematic. The house is located in a narrow side street which at first might be a little bit difficult to find. To make sure, I felt the whole neighbourhood is very safe and quite. The advantage of a street which is slightly remote is that there is no flow of traffic right in front of the house.
Overall truly recommendable.
Jenny's house is great! I live in the neighborhood and decided to rent her house to accommodate family who were visiting for a weekend. Jenny was quick to respond to our questions and helpful in discussing special needs and requests related to their stay. She was very detail-oriented, and careful to disclose any safety issues we may encounter since we planned to have a small child staying in the house. My family had a good experience staying there and we would recommend it to others.
My family stayed at Jenny's place for a weekend and they absolutely loved the place. It was clean, cozy and she was very accommodating. She was great at communication and told us any problems before hand as well as the steps she was taking to fix them. Overall, they felt very at home in Jenny's place and really enjoyed their stay there.
Jenny has a very nice apartment that accommodated our extended family (six in all) over the weekend of our daughter graduation in the Philadelphia area. We found everything very clean and accessible. We did not get to meet Jenny due to NJ weekend traffic but she was more than helpful in assisting us on check-in. Federal Donuts around the corner a plus (order the hot, fresh donuts, not the fancy unless you like lots of sugar). A great place to stay in a fun and funky neighborhood!
I stayed in Jenny's beautiful home with six other friends this past weekend. First, on the pre-stay exchange: I found Jenny to be professional, timely in her communications, and open and honest about her home, her neighborhood, and her house rules. Booking was relatively straightforward overall! On the stay itself: her lovely home was precisely as advertised - adorably situated on a quiet street near Penn's Landing, a home that was well appointed, obviously decorated with care, class, and personality, and set up to welcome a B&B guest. We arrived to gourmet organic chocolates, local papers, helpful suggestions for food, and helpful hints on the house itself. Everything was hyper neat and welcoming. Check out was a snap as well: efficient, professional, and straightforward. Overall, I would highly recommend Jenny's home for groups of friends of families looking for a low key place to call their home. This is a cozy launching pad from which you can explore the city.
We - a five persons family - thank Jenny for a wonderful two nights-stay in her house. She was very flexible at check-in time and helpful for dinner advices. The house is in a quiet and nice neighbourhood with spacious and well-designed rooms. Everything we needed was available. Try the donut bakery around the corner. We would choose her again as host for our next stay in Philadelphia
So, if you want to spend a nice time in Phili, Jenny's house is the right place to stay and Jenny will do her best to help you.
