Response from Matt:

OK. so where do I begin...
Let me first say that Teresa did not read my listing accurately. I very clearly say in my listing that any guest will share the front door with me, and will see me from time to time, not very much at all ( please see other reviews to attest to that). They did not say anything to me about any having any issues until midway through their stay, they only brought it up when they wanted cash from me... but will return to that later...

First: i've never had any mis-communication like this in over 3 years of hosting, because everything about me and the space is written in the listing, perhaps it is a language barrier since they are from Spain, or I am giving them too much credit...
That being said, Teresa booked her stay for her plus 1 guest. However, she arrived with 2 guests ( so 3 total). However I did not complain about this and gave them extra towels, linens and pillows which I didn't need to do. I don't care about making a few extra dollars if my guests are happy, and they seemed to be.

Secondly, midway through their stay, I had asked the girls for permission and if they wanted to come to my barbecue. Now i see that was a mistake.. BUT They agreed, invited their friends, drank and ate the food I had provided. It was fun, but unfortunately they complained to airbnb upon their leave saying I had disrupted their stay, had guests over, used the kitchen, etc etc.. NOW, i can understand if i did not ask them first for permission, but I did. - not only that, but they gave me the okay, they attended while bringing friends and ate and drank my food.. doesn't seem fair to me to complain about that.

But the main reason for their complaint was because they failed at blackmailing me! I refused to give them money back in person after they had threatened me for 3 days for cash back, insisting that I lied to them, etc etc... They said they would give me a bad review if i didn't, and they didn't want to get airbnb involved, AND they believed they deserved MORE than half their money back. I know the policy and I know I must go through airbnb for any issues, I cannot give cash to guests OR accept any cash from guests, period. I refused and told them I'm letting airbnb resolve this.

The TV not working? hmmm, no I didn't teach them how to use it. But i would have if they asked. It has wifi and connects to netflix which I told them.

Most of my experiences with this site have been great. I like hosting and I've made many friends from all over the world. This experience was the anomaly, and throughout this public response I'm trying to be as polite as possible... it was NOT a pleasant experience. I thank airbnb for helping to resolve the entire situation.
