The neighborhood

SNOW SEASON runs from about Thanksgiving until March depending on the year.. the house is at 5500' elevation and typically gets about 5 feet of snow per season. The lot has an excellent slope for sledding with little kids and older kids may walk up the road to a great sledding location at the hangglider launch point. Snow Valley is the closest ski resort accessed by major mountain roads and is 17 miles distance. Very good cross country skiing is found on old service roads at the end of the street about 1 mile from the house - there are few sets of cross country skis boots, poles etc available at the house to use. We also have some sleds and disks at the house for the kids upon request.

SUMMER is terrific in the Crestline area. Lake Gregory is 2 miles from the house and has waterslides, a public beach, paddle boards, fishing and kayaking. The average summer daytime temperature is between 80 - 90 degrees from June through September with clear skies and gentle breezes. 4x4 roads for ATV's and backwoods exploring are abundant. There is great hiking trails and Deep Creek hotsprings near by. Summer is great fun on the mountain and the area has over 300 days of sunshine!

House is very spacious and is a lot larger than it looks in the images. The views are simply incredible, and my favorite part of the home. Very easy to get to using Hwy 18, and a quick 20 min drive to Lake Arrowhead or Crest Park for sledding and playing in the snow. I recommend this home for large groups, however it isn't the safest home for small children under the age of 5. Overall a great stay.

David is a top class host and this place is a little bigger than expected. There are 6 beds and a loft, which for me unexpected. Lots of room for gathering and the kitchen is huge with everything you need. The decor is interesting but the view is amazing. Driving there was much easier than driving to big bear. I would come back again for snow time.

Great place with very eclectic decor. Big enough for a large group and plenty of supplies necessary to cooking, cleaning and relaxation. David was very communicative and had the place clean and heated upon our arrival. We would definitely stay here again!

The house was amazing and the view was even better!! I would definitely recommend staying here and David was a pleasure to work with! It's not too bad of a drive to big bear and the house has an enormous amount of room and plenty of sleeping space!

Response from David:
This was a mistake on my part learning the host system -- I should not have accepted the offer because it was not clear that the requested dates were going to be available. I wanted to reply and accidentally accepted the offer when explaining the situation. My apology to the guests for making a mistake was immediate. Thanks, David
