Your very own Private Cabin on Gated Property, next to wilderness, with hundreds of miles of fire roads, mountain bike and hiking trails in clean open air to refresh your spirit for a day trip or location. Skylights above a queen bed and a beautiful tile mosaic are just two of the many things that make this such a unique retreat. Please ask, obvious questions are welcome

The space
The Guest Cabin is your perfect escape from urban confusion and the stress of social distancing with all amenities for a perfect getaway! We use CDC safe guidelines for cleaning your private shower, kitchenette and bathroom as well as a queen bed with fresh sheets under star gazer's skylights, WiFi so you can work! Only 22 miles from down town Los Angeles it feels like 100 miles from civilization. 15 minutes drive to the beach, 30 minutes to Santa Monica. We have over 70 live oaks on the property to filter the perfect air. So far from the roar of civilization you will think you are in another world!

Guest access
You will have your cabin and ample, beautiful outdoor space all to yourselves with access to hiking trails and fire roads through a private gate. You will have parking for one car directly in front of the cabin with paid parking for a second car, as we have very limited parking!

Other things to note
There are occasional sightings of at least 1 Mountain Lion in the general Topanga area, we don't have pets and haven't seen anything bigger than a Bobcat on our property but the abundance of Coyotes and Bobcats leaves us with a "No Pets" policy. We have a resident Gray Fox family with daily sightings in what is rumored to be the oldest vineyard in Topanga.

We are off of a private road in a wilder part of Topanga. The neighbors are friendly but stay to themselves. Come armed with a smile is all you need. It is a short drive to Red Rock Canyon Park, or if you are fit you can hike 8 mile ridge loop that takes you around the canyon rim before it drops into Red Rock Canyon Park then back up to the cabin on Topanga Skyline Drive.

I am a 30 year veteran of the Adventure Sports/Commercial Television and Film World. I grew up between the Mountains of Colorado, in Vail and Aspen, and a large cattle ranch in Northwest Montana. After a year of school at Prescott College in Arizona and several more shooting ski films in Colorado, I moved to North Hollywood where I lasted about 6 months before fleeing to Half Moon Bay. I eventually made it back to Hollywood because of "The Business" and for about 5 years lived on my sailboat. Throughout this time I was traveling the world shooting films and first kayak descents of rivers and ski descents of mountains. About 10 years ago I met my sweetheart at the Premier of an IMAX Film called "Mystery of the Nile" we shot while making the first "Source to Sea" descent of the Nile. After a couple of years living in the Marina we decided to settle in Topanga with our young family. As luck would have it, we found a magical piece of property, with direct access to over 100 miles of hiking/mountain biking trails through Topanga State Park and adjacent wild areas, while being only 22 miles direct from downtown Los Angeles. Now I am able to work closer to home and family. Airbnb along with some beautiful property with stunning views is helping fulfill that dream.... As far as hosting, I would personally like to make everyone who stays with us a lifelong friend but I am also just happy to share a such a beautiful place so close to the city, yet so far away from all the noise and haste! If you decide to stay with us, you are welcome to request additional services like breakfast, cappuccino or a shuttle to the airport, direction and information on local resources. We will do what we can to make sure our guests have a wonderful stay in a truly magical place with no worries about the small stuff.

During your stay
Usually in calmer times when not traveling I am very available and love to interact with guests, but even outside the age of social distancing, one of the best reasons to be here is the solitude. So though I live on the property with my family and will give you as much space as you like. I will be available if needed by text/SMS, or in person if there is an emergency!
