We cannot do more then write it clearly and have modified with the comments of guests.... see house rules.

Interaction with Guests

Before hand please ask all questions through airbnb as well as on check-in day personally. After that we leave you in peace but you can ask by sending sms texts and we will respond immediately or come to visit you at the appartment if you really need us.

The Neighborhood

Residential area on one of the historic islands. No sleeping problems with party noise though right in the center. Very light studio-appartment on plaza with big trees. River and canals at 200 m. Distance to night life on Haarlemmerstreet 300 m. Every day need shops and restaurant at 50 m. Tram 200 m.

There are all kinds of deli, wineries and supermarkets, restaurants and take-aways or night shops at 300 m distance on Haarlemmerstraat. Sunday bakery just off Haarlemmerplein. On Haarlemmerstraat you have all kind of night activity from pub, theatres to cinemas. Meanwhile the house is located in a delightfully silent area.

Getting around

Walking distance with light suitcases from central train station is 10 min. Tram line 3 (circular line) stops at 200 m. Buses from train station running along river and to Haarlemmer Plein (Plaza).

How to arrive on arrival day:
From the airport the apartment is ideally located at 25 min. by cab (30-40 Euros) or train (3-4 Euros). And then two options:
Arrival at central train station.bus and Tram line 3 (3 Euros) or buses to Haarlemmerplein from central station arriving. Tram stop at 150 m from the house and Haarlemmerplein 300 m from the house. Free parking is not available in whole Amsterdam but you can park at Europarking and take tram line 3 home (please look it up on internet).
Arrival at central train station. Renting a bike on Central Train Station Amsterdam!!!! The absolute Amsterdam feel of life. Do not forget to lock it to something fixed like an iron gutter and to close both locks the bike rental gives to you.
You could even walk from central station. It's a 15 min. walk or so.

So, everything easy to arrive at the home and on touristic track. From the airport:
Take train from Schiphol airport to central station and then bus or tram or a cab, it will be 20 min. train plus 10 min. cab or bus in total. This is the more touristic arrival route.

Other Things to Note

As Amsterdam homes have wooden staircases, we only want socially responsible guests who agree on not talking on the staircase when coming home late. We have great neighbours and want to keep those relationsships.... :-) Once we had tell guests about using the security to make sure they are silent in the hallway.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • The studio is in a quite and comfortable part of the city. Natives live here and that's why you don't hear any specific noises outside or whatever.

We had a nice stay there.

The only thing you should take in account: it is not that large. We were 5 and I would say the studio is small for this number of people.

  • The person who receive the person is not a good person, really bad bad person. condition of the studio is not much good because it's dirty and full of dust. It's good for a short stay. The place is quite and close to the centre. Price high for what receive. Owner gently but not present.

  • Yvonne great hostess, responsive and friendly. thanks for the help!=)
Apartment is not too big, but very good for four people. Very cozy=) The kitchen is well equipped, supermarket -albert heijn- on Haarlemplein - 300 m. Location - 15 min to Centraal Station walk slowly. However, the street is quiet and calm.
Small negative - the stairs like a Everest, but if you are in good shape and without a lot of baggage - it's just funny.
once again many thanks Yvonne. everything was great!

  • It's a good apartment.
It's not far of the center ... you don't need a car to move, you can walk !
    But it's a studio ... so for 5 persons it's a little small !!!! It's good for just 2 or 3 people !

  • Good place with good interior. Faulty heating system caused some problems to us but all of them have been resolved any way thanks to the efforts of Yvonne and Norber. Cleaning is not top notch but considering the price, it is ok. Place has kitchen utilities that we could have some breakfast and meals in it. Yvonne and Norber were very interested and eager to help.

  • + good location, close to the city centre
+ very helpful, chilled out host
+ some furniture were new and looked nice
+ sleeping couch was quite omfortable

    - we expected better standard for the money we paid
    - apartment was small even for 3 of us
    - host should buy new mattress (one had strange stains) and bedclothes (the one we had were old and had holes)
    - 50 euro for cleaning is far too much for that size of apartment (it wasn't also very clean and we saw a mouse in the apartment)

    September 2013
  • Yvonne was a very nice host, very friendly. The apartment is in a nice area, very close to supermarkets and the central station. The cleaning was the best but considering the price we were very sastified. Overall, a good experience

  • Six of us stayed in this studio apartment; we thought it would be bigger and so were quite surprised when we had to really squish. Nonetheless, our stay was enjoyable if slightly claustrophobic. The stairs are a hazard and various parts of the apartment were falling apart such as the wardrobe. We also felt the 50 euro cleaning fee was excessive and it was average at best, with horrible stains covering the mattresses.
However, our stay in Amsterdam was enjoyable, the location is great and the hosts are very helpful.

I am Art and language interested, educated in arts and in university in Amsterdam. Fell in love with Tuscany where I am located. Love to travel and interact with cultures. Great to host like-minded people once in a while. I help friends who also rent out to guests who love Amsterdam.
