Only book when agreeing on this, as it is not fair to try to bargain or leave wrong or bad reviews while you didn't see it's a studio or you didn't read the description. We cannot do more then write it clearly and have modified with the comments of guests.... see house rules.
Whole appartment and facilities, furniture, cooking, bathroom of your own.
Interaction with Guests

Walking distance with light suitcases from central train station is 10 min. Tram line 3 (circular line) stops at 200 m. Buses from train station running along river and to Haarlemmer Plein (Plaza).
How to arrive on arrival day:
From the airport the apartment is ideally located at 25 min. by cab (30-40 Euros) or train (3-4 Euros). And then two options:
Arrival at central train station.bus and Tram line 3 (3 Euros) or buses to Haarlemmerplein from central station arriving. Tram stop at 150 m from the house and Haarlemmerplein 300 m from the house. Free parking is not available in whole Amsterdam but you can park at Europarking and take tram line 3 home (please look it up on internet).
Arrival at central train station. Renting a bike on Central Train Station Amsterdam!!!! The absolute Amsterdam feel of life. Do not forget to lock it to something fixed like an iron gutter and to close both locks the bike rental gives to you.
You could even walk from central station. It's a 15 min. walk or so.
So, everything easy to arrive at the home and on touristic track. From the airport:
Take train from Schiphol airport to central station and then bus or tram or a cab, it will be 20 min. train plus 10 min. cab or bus in total. This is the more touristic arrival route.
Other Things to Note
As Amsterdam homes have wooden staircases, we only want socially responsible guests who agree on not talking on the staircase when coming home late. We have great neighbours and want to keep those relationsships.... :-) Once we had tell guests about using the security to make sure they are silent in the hallway.
security deposite: 300 Euros for daily and weekly rent (back min. cleaning 50 Euros)
security deposite: 1000 Euros for monthly rent / longer 1500 Euros
Of course deposite will be returned entirely after receiveing a normally used home (no piles of dishwashing and plastic bags with beer bottles).
Historic homes are built from wood in Amsterdam, so even after insulating againt noise, neighbours hear each other more then in concrete buildings. For this we only accept families or groups who are responsible citizens.
Sorry to say but as we had bad experiences before, we now handle the policy to use the security money in case the neighbours in our home or the neighbours who hear you talk loud on the stairs, the street or roof terrace will file a complaint to me. And we will inform Airbnb of breaking the rules and take you out of the home. Airbnb has backed us up in that case before!
Will be done by worker 50 Euros and on the basis of normal use of the house.
Normal use of the house as a normal guest means taking down your own litter and your own bottles as it is 3rd floor and easy for you as a group to leave the home in a normally used way.
Please note, this is a self-catering appartment. No bed & Breakfast service or hotel. You will fill up needs like toilet paper or dishwashing soap etc.!!!
Yvonne made us feel really welcome which was really nice. She has been really patient waiting for us as our flight and train ended up to be late. The area was well located (15min walk from main canter) in a quite neighbourhood just far enough away from the noise of the center. The flat was big enough for 3 people, just be careful with the stairs as they are very narrow and very steep.
Warning !! There is 50€ cleaning fee however, when we got there the sheets and blankets were stained with blood and bodily fluids. So we are not sure if the 50€ really goes into cleaning or refurbishment of the flat. Unfortunately for us, on the Sunday morning we had no hot water. For the place that we paid knowing she charge everybody that 50€, Yvonne should at least provided clean bedding. We brought it to her attention to make sure the next guest don't get the same surprise.
The problems with my reservation started a few weeks before I was scheduled to leave. On the listing it says that the check in time is 3PM so I told Yvonne that our flight arrives at 9:30AM in hopes that we might be able to check in earlier. What instead happened was that I got a message a few weeks later saying that because I hadn't messaged her saying when we'd arrive, which as stated before I had in fact done, Norber (the other host) would greet us in "the evening". We didn't get any more specifics than that so when I asked about it I was told that it would be between 7PM and 9PM. We only found out exactly at what time we would check in around 3 or 4 PM.
Fortunately, we had a friend in Amsterdam so we could leave our bags there for the day.
Another big issue we had was the state of the apartment. A lot of stuff was dirty and disgusting. A bowl in the kitchen had old crackers in it stuck to the bottom. The utensils were greasy and even dirty. The glasses were dusty and gross. We used plastic ones during our stay. The beds themselves had massive stains of unknown origin and should be replaced. God only knows what people did on those mattresses.
We were charged 50 euros for a cleaning fee which I assume the host just pockets because the entire apartment is so small that it could be cleaned by 1 person within an hour, let alone by someone who does it for a living.
Additionally, there was hair everyone. On the beds, mattresses and sheets. I don't even want to think about the fact that I was probably sleeping on somebodies pubic hair.
I have no idea how this place is advertised as being big enough for 6. When the couch opens there is barely any room for another 2 to 3 people to sleep on the floor. We could barely walk around the apartment to go to the bathroom at night.
The positives about the place are that it's close to the center. The bathrooms were nice and clean.
Definitely do not stay here if you want decent living conditions during your stay. If you consider this to be an acceptable sacrifice due to the proximity of the apartment to the center (20-25 minutes to the Red light district) then go for it.
Great place with a good location not too far from the center if you dont mind walking a bit, the studio is cosy, Norber and Yvonne are two good hoster they will stay in touch with you if you need anything they are clear about the place everything is written on the descriptions, so read well everything and you ll have a perfect time, no surprises. I had a great time, enjoy.
The house was really little, but perfect for a couple.
Clean and in a really quiet place, we had just a couple of little problems with the principal bed, so unconfortable and noisy.
The bathroom and the kitchen are little, but perfectly usable.
Yvonne is a very good host! She is friendly and also can help you with everything you ask.
The apartment is in the quite area that is important for good sleeping. Moreover it is near the center and you can easily reach it in 20 min.
The apartment was good for us (4 persons), because we was walking all day and came back at evening, but I think it is perfect for 2 persons and a lil bit small for 3 or 4. Bed linen and towels were provided that's good.
Anyway, everything is perfect in Amsterdam!
Thank you Yvonne!
Dear Georgy, you were such a perfect group. Well mannered and always answering our questions to make your checkin and checkout just perfect. It was no problem to receive you on odd times late as we know long time before and could suit your needs and integrate in our day planning. Always again, would recommend this group again to all hosts. The perfect guests!!!!!

I am Art and language interested, educated in arts and in university in Amsterdam. Fell in love with Tuscany where I am located. Love to travel and interact with cultures. Great to host like-minded people once in a while. I help friends who also rent out to guests who love Amsterdam.
