Karen's flat is a very well situated apartment in a delightful and homely district of Rome. There are good local amenities, including the wonderful Linari Pasticceria for breakfast, a good pizza joint a few feet from the front door and the famous Felice's Trattoria just a few minutes away. The flat is also a short bus ride from all the major attractions. The flat is roomy and fashionably furnished. It is well air conditioned and the beds are comfortable. One is living amongst local Romans. Karen also helpfully organised airport transit for us which is very good value if there are more than two of you travelling. Thanks again Karen and we will be back.

great apartment, great host, absolutely great time in Rome, full of wonderful memories thanks to this beautiful apartment: we walked to all parts of Rome, but city buses are near by to take you to the center as well. The pizza place right next to the apartment is definitely a thing to do.

Nice, spacious apartment with irks and quirks in a central and trendy area of Rome. Before arrival communication with Karen was a bit tenuous (either no reply or just with yes or no) which leaves you with a bit of uneasy feelings before arrival. However, on arrival we met Karen, a very nice person, and from there communication improved substantially. Only thing is that there is a mayor constructions site right on top of Karen’s apartment which seems to be ongoing for quite some time more and makes it hardly impossible to use the apartment anytime during the day. Obviously, it’s not Karen’s fault, but I think it would just have been fair to advise us before arrival, especially as we stayed for a complete month and were travelling with our two toddlers who need to take a nap at some point during the day. Shouldn’t be a problem though, if come to Rome just for sightseeing and are out during the day anyway.

Very well located - good area - can't go wrong. The apartment is clean - light & airy - good size bedrooms. Not to everyone's taste but it is a very good base that can be used as the launch pad to see the rest of Rome. Most things are within walking distance & Rome is such a great walking city. Karen was a tremendous host and we used her airport car service as well - which worked well. Happy to recommend Karen & her apartment - Greg & Laura

Karen's apartment is reflected particularly well on her Airbnb page. It is old, however that adds to its charm and authenticity. If you are looking for a five star experience with new fixtures and fittings this will not meet your needs. However, if like us you seek a property with character and warmth, you will love this apartment ideally located in the middle of Testaccio directly opposite one of the two Piazza's in Testaccio that hum with the happy sound of a diverse community from morning until late into the evening. We loved this! For the fit traveler who loves walking, the apartment is also ideally located and accessible on foot along the Tiber River, to all of Rome's amazing and breath-taking sights, monuments and attractions. Or if you want to save the soles of your shoes, hope on the river boat which allows you to hop on hop off or, of course walk to the closest Hop on Hop Off Bus stop. All really accessible form Amazing Testaccio. Our day started with a wonderful cappuccino at either Mercato Testaccio or the cafe opposite the local Basilica and ended with us returning to our neighborhood for dinner in one of the local, however renowned Pizzeria's/Tratatoria's. Remo on the square for brilliant pizza and fun friendly service and La Bucatina, literally around the corner, which you will read about in many reviews and blogs on Rome and Testaccio in particular. Karen also arranged for a driver to collect us from Fumicino Airport and pick up the keys for us. At 45 euro one way this saved us a great deal of hassle at a very reasonable price. Karen then re-booked the service for our return flight. Staying at Karen's apartment gave us a unique opportunity to experience Italian inner-city living at it's best! One small mention in relation to the bed in the second bedroom. It was described as a "bed" and looked like a double bed in the photos. It is actually a fold out futon bed which for one night would be OK but over 8 nights it was less that suitable for our adult son. The layout of the apartment however is fabulous and even more spacious than we had hoped for. The two small balconies are also a bonus and we enjoyed Prosecco, Birra and Vino Rosato on them on a nightly basis! Thank you Karen for sharing your very special pad in Testaccio. We are planning a return visit already!

Karen was a perfect host who arranged our transfer from the airport and met us at the apartment which was very good of her as it was 01.30. It was just as well as there was no electricity working in the apartment when she let us in, she tried everything to sort it out but was unable too, fortunately it wasn't a problem as we just wanted to sleep. Karen called in an electrician first thing in the morning who sorted the problem. We loved Karen's apartment but it is very rustic, its light, airy and spacious, it could do with updating but we were very comfortable. It is perfectly situated for the city approximately 30 mins walk to the colleseum. The piazza that the apartment is on is very lively and has everything you need. We loved our stay and would go back again. Grazi

The appartment was really nice, cosy and clean. It was even bigger than what it seemed on the photos ! We didn't meet Karen but she was really helpful whenever we had a question. Testaccio is very calm and not so far from the touristic places, there is good places to eat and have a drink next to the flat. I would definitly recommend Karen's appartment, we loved it !
