Alexander's house is in an excellent location, close to the bus stop but also easily walkable to the city centre. Alexander allows his guests the top floor of his home, so it feels very private. The room is spacious and so is the bathroom. The communication we received was excellent. We highly recommend staying with Alexander.

Alexander, is a very pleasant and helpful person, who interacted with us to make our stay comfortable. Found the accommodation quite cosy, comfortable in a quiet road, to enable us to relax after a city tour. It was like coming home to find the rooms and accommodation nicely placed which enabled us to feel quite homely. Once, the location was found it was easy to relocate the next time. It's an ideal place to enjoy the city, that was quaint and not far away.

Staying at Alexander's house was great. It was located in a central area, minutes away from the city market. It took us maybe 15 min to get where we needed to go.

The room is as described and what it looks like in pictures. Easy bus access to old city center and it is walkable if you don't mind walking (around 20 min). Didn't actually meet Alexander but he has laid out everything to be useful for staying there. If you're planning a stop in Bruges it is worth the visit.

The place is a beautiful short walk from Bruges old town and Ezelpoort, the large gate over the water is right by their home. There is a supermarket and a bus stop right around the corner which was perfect. The bus arrival times per day of the week are posted inside the bus shelter so stop by and take a picture so you can know when the bus will leave each hour. I would say that walking from the Bruges central bus/train station is a bit of a trek, about 30 mins and 2+ miles so I'd recommend the bus if you have luggage. Otherwise, the walk is scenic and only has two turns so not bad for daytime travel to Brussels etc. There is a train that goes directly from the Bruges station to the Brussels airport which we used and were grateful for. The space is clean and private on the third floor of the home. (They call it the second floor which confused us a little because in Europe the ground floor is a living floor with kitchen and isn't included in the floor count). The bathroom was a nice size, clean, included toiletries, and had great water temperature and pressure. The city is EXTREMELY safe. We walked around late into the evening when everything was closed and never felt in danger at all. We barely even ran across other people. It's the least crowded tourist city we visited. Keep in mind that Alexander and his family are environmentally conscious so they ask that you are mindful of energy use and waste produced. They are up front with this so make sure you read all their notices so you align with their expectations. The room has a door that leads onto a small balcony where there are flowers and a great opportunity to get some fresh air. The TV is big but we didn't use it so I'm not sure about the channels available. There's a kettle and tea supplies in the room which was helpful. I would stay here again immediately if I were in Bruges. The hosts leave your to your privacy and the key box makes check in and check out nice because it's at your leisure. Make sure to know their check in time is 3:00 pm which is later than many other hosts, so plan your travel time accordingly. Excellent location, size, and cleanliness!
