  • Masako was a great host - so helpful. Even disposed of my old (broken) suitcase for me (it broke on the trip). The place itself... First, it was in a perfect location. Such a quick walk to Shinjuku station and all the shopping and restaurants Shinjuku has to offer. As far as the apartment itself, it was a decent size (plenty of room for just me - two people would be fine - three? mmmm... tight). It was clean, but not the cleanest/neatest I stayed in on my trip. There was a slight, lingering "stale-cigarette" smell in the hallway and in the kitchen area of the room. Oh, also, there's no stove - it was removed - so only a microwave for heating anything. But, it was very quiet and so easy to get to sleep.

This building is prohibited smoking and there are 5 smoking area otuside of the building. If someone smokes in the room, alarm starts immediately and 15 security guard rush to where detect smoke.
The hallway, wall paper, carpet of each floor is under refitting now.

Masako is an incredible host, really helpful. In her appartment, there are many map, "to do list", "to visit list". Towels and sheets are changed 3 times in 14 days, thanks a million !

  • We had a very comfortable stay at Masako's apartment. It was very clean and there was ample space for the adults and some space for a toddler to play in. I would describe the details as well thought of -- good quality shampoos, good laundry soap, handwritten notes for reminders, umbrellas in case it rains, and even some candies for the guests. The 7-11 downstairs was packed with food and was very handy for our midnight snacking needs. And I regret having discovered this on the last day, but the apartment was practically behind Takashimaya and there was a shortcut if you go past the building! But most notably, Masako was the sweetest host :) She even gave my baby girl whose birthday is coming up a gift and we really appreciated that. Thanks, Masako!

  • The flat is small compare to western standards especially the bathroom and the furnitures are quite basic.

But my opinion is positive as :
    - Masako is well organized, not problem at all for checkin/checkout
    - The flat is very well located, really 5 minutes walking to Shinjuku station, and Shinjuku is super convenient to visit Tokyo
    - the building is very quiet, good sleep guaranted
    - the flat is larger than business hotels in Tokyo, for 2 people, it is comfortable enough
    - There is a coin laundry directly in the building

So finally for the price, it is a good value, I would do the same choice if I'll come back to Tokyo.

  • The location of this apartment is very close to Shinjuku station, about 5-10 minute walk, which is really very convenient. The apartment is not very big, but enough for three people staying.
There is a 7-11 near the apartment, in which you can buy anything you need even during midnight. There are also many shops, resturants near the apartment.

  • I was waiting for Masako at the first kitchen restaurant and As I didn't get any email confirmation upon arrival , but Masako apologized thousand times for the mistake. Apartment was good, fit right 3 person, but toilet was a bit too small. Understood that it is the standard size in Tokyo. 5 mins walk to shinjuku station so it was perfect! Convenience store and the bento shop is a plus point! Quiet and cozy apartment. Masako was very helpful with the cleaning. We kept in touch via air bnb on weather and for checking out with fast response.

  • The host, Mrs. Masako is very friendly. We stayed with a total of 2 adults and a 5yo kid, a little bit crammed of course...but i think it's normal for a Japanese standard. The most important thing is that the place is very clean and neat. My nose is actually quite sensitive to dust and during our stay, I didn't experience any of that problem. The place provides everyhing we need, including towels, soap, shampoo, and even detergent! The place is only 10 minutes walking from Shinjuku JR station and very easy to find based on her own description. Starbucks, 7-11, restaurants are within 2 minutes walking distance. We'll definitely stay in the same place again when we come back to Tokyo next time.

  • Masako was an amazing host, couldn't have asked for a more kind and helpful person for my first time in Tokyo. The condo is beautiful and is definitely much nicer and bigger than pictured. Comfortable bed, working utilities, working heat/ac, everything you could ask for. There is a 711 downstairs open 24/7 and the Shinjuku train station, a main hub to go anywhere in Tokyo is only a few short blocks away. Also the Narita Express stops there also so you can get there from the airport easily. Great area with lots of great food and shopping. I highly recommend this location and look forward to my next stay. Thanks Masako!!!

  • Conveniently located right near Shinjuku station, very quiet and private. Masako is a great host and communication is excellent. Once you are a confirmed guest, she will message you about a week prior to your stay and will make sure the details of your stay are ironed out. She even provided me with recommendations on how to get to and from the building from the airport. The only thing I will mention is that once you get to Shinjuku station (and exit from the South exit), it's a little difficult to find the place the first time. She no longer sends someone to meet you at First Kitchen. Make sure you either study a map well, or expect to ask someone for directions. Masako will send you a link on the location on (website hidden) maps, but it still may be difficult. However, once you find it, you will agree it's in a very convenient location and just a short walk from access to many train lines. Also, the security of the building itself is not the best. Although Japan is very safe, others can usually enter the building's lobby and laundry room without difficulty.
