About this listing
With 1000 sq feet of downstairs space, you get your own bedroom, bathroom and large comfy TV room. The fenced-in double lot allows your furry kid to run free with no worries. Don't leave your dog at home when you visit Portland, stay with us!
You get a spacious private bedroom, private bathroom and private living room area. Feel free to use the kitchen or laundry room and be sure to hook up to the free high-speed WiFi.
Your rented bedroom has a comfy queen bed with a remote for lifting your tired feet or propping your head/back to read in bed. It also has a wonderful massage feature. Cold sleeper? Your bed is equipped with a heated mattress pad. Crank up your side for warmth while your mate’s side can be off.
Your bedroom has a personal fan, heater and a white noise machine (we all struggle with "new noises" at unfamiliar places). Your bathroom has a complementary set of basic toiletries and a blow dryer is available for your use.
Your living room area has a large HDTV with surround sound entertainment. You even get your own microwave, coffee maker and mini fridge to keep leftovers and your drinks cold!
Your basement suite is close to 1000 square feet in space! So much room!
My house has 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, large open kitchen, dining area, front room TV area and a total of 2600 square feet of space. It is a newly remodeled house, which means a brand new 2012 house sits on a 1912 foundation. Everything is 2012 new: carpet, furnace, water heater, windows, toilets, paint, all appliances...everything.
The garage/workshop is a whomping 1600 square feet and can store your bikes. You can park your vehicle in the garage, as well. Fire up the five burner gas grill/smoker and eat outside on the patio.
I have an adorable, super laid back, Black Lab named Podji and we would be happy to add your doggie kids to the mix. The double lot (hard to find in PDX!) is completely fenced in and ready for your pet to run around! Your furry kid is welcome here!
Your host is a middle school administrator who could make you laugh with some very funny stories. Nothing beats working with tweeners and teens!
I am gay friendly and look forward to sharing this spacious, cozy home with you.
Nobody likes rules. The only two expectations is to have respectful guests and for you to enjoy your stay. I want you to feel at home and be comfortable. Leave your chaotic and crazy world behind and come enjoy Portland!!

Lori's home in Portland is fantastically cozy and comfortable! Everything a guest could possibly need is at hand and on the off chance that something is not readily available, Lori is more than happy to help you out. The room and bathroom were both immaculate when we arrived and we had all of the toiletries we needed for our stay and a bevy of local guides and maps so we could figure out what to do during our stay. The icing on the cake is definitely Podji, who is the friendliest dog in the world and could never have enough attention and tummy rubs, of which we were happy to provide.
On our trip along the cost, we had an amazing time at Lori's house thanks to her absolutely beautiful place offering us a lot of space and privacy. Everything was perfectly clean and very comfy and welcoming and we slept very well. Lori gave us excellent instructions on how to get to her house and how to enter it while she was hiking. The neighbourhood is rather quite, but even by using public transport you get easily to all the popular ones in Portland. Lori left us recommendations on what to do and where to eat. We would definitely stay here again an recommend it to everyone while in Portland.
Lori left excellent and detailed instructions on the layout of her home. When we arrived we were thrilled to see the space and privacy that was available. The bed was excellent and the house was immaculate. It was only a short drive to all the popular neighbourhoods in Portland. We would definitely stay here again.
This was a wonderful stay! Lori is a most gracious host and we felt very welcome in this lovely home.
The house is SUPER clean and roomy. We had all the privacy we could ask for and had the benefit of hanging with Podji who is the sweetest dog!
The location is a short walk from a beautiful park to stroll in and a short drive from everything Portland has to offer. We couldn't be more thrilled with our introduction to Portland.
Staying with Lori and Podji is like scoring a hat trick! You score on three levels: 1) The Space- An amazing space that is HUGE and feels like an entire private apartment, not just a private room. The living room has super comfy couches to spread out on and with a giant flat screen TV and surround sound system, it was great for watching all of our favorite sports. Beautiful fenced in yard for the dogs and hanging out in the sun. Extremely clean, well equipped, comfortable and quiet. 2)The Location-Just a short 10 minute drive to Hawthorne district. Super convenient to 205 freeway to get to the Gorge, MAX line train station to airport or downtown within a mile, plenty of shops and eateries within walking distance, and easy parking (no circling around and around like near Hawthorne). A park with tennis courts and playground was also within walking distance. 3) The Hosts- Lori is a superb host and very conscientious and friendly. Fast responses to emails, well organized, and really helpful with tour guide tips for food and hiking suggestions. Podji is super sweet, huggable, and wants for you to be part of the family and feel at home.
Overall, staying with Lori and Podji is like having a home away from home, and seeing a long lost friend. Would highly recommend staying here to friends and family and we hope to be back again soon!
Lori and Podji hosted my mom and it was a total, complete, utter success. I cannot say enough about these two - I highly recommend their home.
My wife stayed here on her own and this is her review: I cannot say enough nice things about my stay at Lori's home. What a beautiful place. She was super nice from the start of my stay through the very end. Everything was perfect...super clean and inviting. I was very comfortable with the all the amenities... started to feel like home. And what a sweet dog Podji was. Very friendly and fun to play with. I would highly recommend her place to my family and friends. And I will definitely be staying with her again in the near future. Thank you Lori for a very pleasant stay!
About the Host, Lori 'N Podji
I purchased this amazing house the summer of 2012. It is a fabulous home and I am so excited to open it up to AirBnB friends. Hosting comes naturally as I have had many friends and family over. Now I want to meet new folks from across the river to across the country and beyond!
I enjoy traveling and prefer to stay with locals in my quest for adventures. I feel renting a room is a key way to keep the cost of traveling/ living abroad low, raise your level of security, have the amenities that allow you to live more self-sufficient and conveniently, have more personal privacy, all while becoming more embedded within the local community that you are visiting.
Lori is an avid hiker and has stood on the top of the highest peaks in the Pacific Northwest. She just recently completed hiking all 148 hikes in the Douglas Lorain Afoot & Afield hiking book. She is currently section hiking the Pacific Crest Trail thru Oregon and has close to 325 miles tromped off. Lori has hiked most of the Columbia Gorge trails and a majority of the hikes in and around Mt. Hood. She would love to show you a map of the hiking areas with every hike highlighted that she tromped.
Lori is an administrator at the middle school level. She is a recovering Physical Education/Health teacher of 13 years before moving up to administration. She absolutely loves her job and is excited to wake up every day knowing she is doing exactly what she is suppose to do.
I invite you to stay and enjoy Portland and Oregon and all it has to offer.
