With 1000 sq feet of downstairs space, you get your own bedroom, bathroom and large comfy TV room. The fenced-in double lot allows your furry kid to run free with no worries. Don't leave your dog at home when you visit Portland, stay with us!
Private Bedroom. Winter Bedding/Sheets. Queen Bed with Heated Mattress Pad, Remote to Raise Feet or Head area Plus Massage Feature
You get a spacious private bedroom, private bathroom and private living room area. Feel free to use the kitchen or laundry room and be sure to hook up to the free high-speed WiFi.
Your rented bedroom has a comfy queen bed with a remote for lifting your tired feet or propping your head/back to read in bed. It also has a wonderful massage feature. Cold sleeper? Your bed is equipped with a heated mattress pad. Crank up your side for warmth while your mate’s side can be off.
Your bedroom has a personal fan, heater and a white noise machine (we all struggle with "new noises" at unfamiliar places). Your bathroom has a complementary set of basic toiletries and a blow dryer is available for your use.
Your living room area has a large HDTV with surround sound entertainment. You even get your own microwave, coffee maker and mini fridge to keep leftovers and your drinks cold!
Your basement suite is close to 1000 square feet in space! So much room!
My house has 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, large open kitchen, dining area, front room TV area and a total of 2600 square feet of space. It is a newly remodeled house, which means a brand new 2012 house sits on a 1912 foundation. Everything is 2012 new: carpet, furnace, water heater, windows, toilets, paint, all appliances...everything.
The garage/workshop is a whomping 1600 square feet and can store your bikes. You can park your vehicle in the garage, as well. Fire up the five burner gas grill/smoker and eat outside on the patio.
I have an adorable, super laid back, Black Lab named Podji and we would be happy to add your doggie kids to the mix. The double lot (hard to find in PDX!) is completely fenced in and ready for your pet to run around! Your furry kid is welcome here!
Your host is a middle school administrator who could make you laugh with some very funny stories. Nothing beats working with tweeners and teens!
I am gay friendly and look forward to sharing this spacious, cozy home with you.
Nobody likes rules. The only two expectations is to have respectful guests and for you to enjoy your stay. I want you to feel at home and be comfortable. Leave your chaotic and crazy world behind and come enjoy Portland!!
We were in Portland for a very quick weekend trip, and had a great time staying at Lori's! Her space is huge - we loved having a big bedroom, our own living room with TV/cable/wifi, a private bathroom, plus access to kitchen amenities and laundry. Also loved having a parking spot in her secure garage. We would definitely stay here again!
I would highly recommend staying with Lori during your stay in Portland. I stayed in her basement with my girlfriend for 4 nights and we both enjoyed the welcoming and comfortable accommodations. The bed is very comfortable - the mattress is on the softer side and is the type of "stabilizing" mattress that minimizes the feeling of movement. The basement suite is very spacious - large bedroom with closet, large couch area, laundry room, and a standard bathroom. Lori has a soap, shampoo, and conditioner dispenser in the shower, and also provided soft towels and wash cloths. There is also a hair drier in the bathroom. The basement was pretty chilly this time of year (mid April), but the bedding is warm and the space heater is very effective in warming up the room. Lori was an excellent host. She was very warm and friendly and easy to talk with. She made excellent hike recommendations. Her home is not in the center of the city, but was about a 15-30 minute drive from most of our desired destinations. There is ample street parking and she also allowed us to park in her garage. Her dog is extremely well-mannered and well-behaved. Overall I would strongly recommend staying with Lori. If/when we go back to Portland, we will definitely stay with her again!!!
My parents had a great time staying with Lori. Her dog poji was sweet and very well behaved. I did not stay at loris, I booked this place for my parents. But they told me to give her a great review :) I did get to visit their home and it's very nice!
It is easy to review Lori "N Podji as it is my Portland home away from home. Home is comfortable, safe, relaxing, cozy, with off street parking. Hosts are gracious and welcoming. This is always my first choice when I go to Portland.
Lori (and Podji) were excellent hosts!!! She was very communicative and friendly about check-in & her plans for the weekend that we stayed (which is nice to know when you're sharing a home). The "room" is more like a suite, with living area, bathroom, and a very private bedroom. It really does feel like your own space. I'm not sure if she was tippy toeing around...but we didn't hear her upstairs at all. She has thought of everything to make your little suite comfortable. It was very clean, extremely comfortable (the bed!!), and much larger than we thought. Nice linens & towels, hot water with good pressure, television, and just enough of a "kitchen" to make coffee, heat up and store food, and even plates & utensils! The larger (and very nice) kitchen is upstairs just a few steps away for any other cooking needs.
We brought a dog with us, and her dog Podji was very welcoming. The backyard was perfect for everyone to romp around, and it was hands down more comfortable than any hotel stays we have had with our pets. This is a PERFECT place to stay with your furry friend! And if you're not a fan of pets, Lori keeps Podji upstairs and the place doesn't have ANY pet "smells". It is very clean.
The neighborhood was nice, and just a quick jaunt over to some good restaurants, coffee & shops & about a 15 minute drive into down town.
I would HIGHLY recommend staying here, and we are already looking forward to going back. :)
huge accommodations with great space, bed, and all the amenities! loved Podji ~ the sweetest dog ever... thanks for the great stay ~
Another great trip to SE Portland, enjoyed everything about being there, Lori made us feel right at home, and podji too and the place was private spacious, and very comfortable.
I purchased this amazing house the summer of 2012. It is a fabulous home and I am so excited to open it up to AirBnB friends. Hosting comes naturally as I have had many friends and family over. Now I want to meet new folks from across the river to across the country and beyond!
I enjoy traveling and prefer to stay with locals in my quest for adventures. I feel renting a room is a key way to keep the cost of traveling/ living abroad low, raise your level of security, have the amenities that allow you to live more self-sufficient and conveniently, have more personal privacy, all while becoming more embedded within the local community that you are visiting.
Lori is an avid hiker and has stood on the top of the highest peaks in the Pacific Northwest. She just recently completed hiking all 148 hikes in the Douglas Lorain Afoot & Afield hiking book. She is currently section hiking the Pacific Crest Trail thru Oregon and has close to 325 miles tromped off. Lori has hiked most of the Columbia Gorge trails and a majority of the hikes in and around Mt. Hood. She would love to show you a map of the hiking areas with every hike highlighted that she tromped.
Lori is an administrator at the middle school level. She is a recovering Physical Education/Health teacher of 13 years before moving up to administration. She absolutely loves her job and is excited to wake up every day knowing she is doing exactly what she is suppose to do.
I invite you to stay and enjoy Portland and Oregon and all it has to offer.
