Hi, welcome to my beautiful 1930s, 1800-square-foot rowhome in North Baltimore, located on what was voted the "prettiest street in Baltimore." The large front bedroom features hardwood floors, a large closet, and a full-sized, antique mahogany bed. This can be for a short-term stay, or I have flexibility in terms of a longer-term lease, and I can offer a month-to-month lease (rates would be less for a full month lease). The house is very comfortable, and well decorated and fully furnished with towels, cooking utensils, etc.
HOME AMENITIES AND SET UP:
There are two bedrooms upstairs with a large, shared bathroom. The rest of the house is shared and includes eat-in kitchen and granite counter tops, gas stove/oven, central A/C, radiator heat, hardwood floors, washer/dryer, wood-burning fireplace, fenced in back patio area. It has finished, newly carpeted basement with a full-size futon bed, and a 1/4 bath (a Baltimore thing), TV, and the space can be used as a gathering space for workshops or as a healing space for healing practitioners such as reiki, etc.--please note that if you're interested in this set up, it would be at an additional cost to cover expenses associated with using the space in that way). Lots of old world charm with updated amenities. Beautifully decorated and furnished. It is also set up with wi-fi and basic cable.
LOCATION: 15 minutes from downtown and the Inner Harbor, 2 minutes from Towson, 15 minutes from Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, 45 minutes from Washington, DC., and 5 minutes driving distance from light rail and I-83. The house is on a lovely tree lined street (voted prettiest in Baltimore) in a good, well established neighborhood near restaurants and shops, walking distance to Belvedere Square. I'm within 10 minutes of most of the major universities in the area (for families coming to events on campuses), including Johns Hopkins, Loyola, Notre Dame, Towson University, Goucher, and Stevenson, and I have a full guide to the neighborhood and to the house, including take out menus from local restaurants, directions to local museums, shops, and eateries (everything you'd want is within minutes). It's a great, quiet alternative, but close to downtown and all the activities you might want to enjoy in the city. And I'm about 35 minutes from BWI airport.
PARKING: There is plenty of street parking directly in front of the house.
TRANSPORTATION: A car is needed, but I'm a 5 minutes' drive from the light rail, 10 minutes' drive to the Amtrak station, and 5 minutes to the major highway running into downtown (I-83 and 695).
SAFETY: It's always a concern for anyone who knows Baltimore! My neighborhood is a well established neighborhood with families who have lived there for generations. I've lived here for six years and have always felt safe.
OTHER: No pets or smokers, please.
I'm easy going, clean, respectful, friendly (but also understand about personal space needs!). Right now, I'm working from home during the day, but that could change, and I will likely be traveling quite a bit in the upcoming months.
Thanks for your interest!
No smoking or pets, please.
Refundable full month security deposit required only for rentals over one month.
It's really a great, comfortable house! I would just ask that you leave it how you found it and treat it as you would your own. I've put a lot of care and love into it and I hope you enjoy staying here!
Beth is awesome, her place is awesome, and the area is awesome.
I stayed with beth for a week and was pleased to not just share the space, but to share conversation and stories. She is accommodating and fun with great stories. Coming from Texas, I loves the Sycamore lined street. I wish Id gotten to explore the area more, but at the least, Belvedere Square Market is wonderful. I may be booking another stay shortly.
We had a great time at Beth's place, it met all of our expectations and Beth was an excellent host! The location couldn't have been better, conviently located close to our son's workplace and other attractions, including the Baltimore Museum of Art. We took a cab downtown to Camden Yards to a ball game, for four people the total fare was about $30.
Beth is a very interesting and gracious person, we were lucky that she happened to be home while we were there, she says she most often rents the entire house when she is traveling on work.
Great experience, great time!
Beth was a wonderful host -- there to chat, but giving me plenty of space as well. The house is great, and an easy drive to Johns Hopkins, which is where I was visiting my daughter. Will go there again next time I am in town!
A charming home in a lovely neighborhood. The bed was extra comfy and there is an air purifier unit in the room for white noise, which helped me sleep well even on the first night of my stay. There is a generous closet with hangers, and a bookshelf with an nice selection of guidebooks and novels. Bathroom is convenient and well equipped. Beth is a friendly and interesting person, who at the same time gives her guests plenty of "space'.
Note however that there are quite a few steps between the street and the front door and the room is on the upper floor. Beth graciously assisted me with my bags as I have a bad knee. Parking is on the street, but there was always plenty of space (unlike my home neighborhood!). Overall it was highly satisfactory experience.
We were in Baltimore visiting our son and his wife. Beth's home is warm and airy with a feeling of peace and tranquility. It is located in a great neighborhood with easy access to Belvedere Square. We had no idea that Belvedere Square is so much fun. The parking is perfect and we were able to get down to the harbor (where the kids live) in less than 20 minutes. Very easy commute. The bedroom is spacious with a large closet, plenty of hangers and storage bins for clothes. Great water pressure in the shower, too! The entire home was immacculate and Beth made us feel welcome and comfortable. You won't be disappointed!
Beth offers a delightful home away from home with all the amenities we are used to. She is accomodating in every way, and I would highly recommend her as a place to lay your head while in Baltimore.

HI! Thanks for checking out my home! My work background is in marketing communications, but I left the 9-5 world last year to pursue a passion--working with indigenous cultures and endangered big cats. I love yoga, traveling and photography.
I wear a few hats at the moment, working as a U.S. representative for a South African-based non-profit white lion conservation organization, and I also work as a part-time program manager for a non-profit that works helping conserve indigenous cultures around the world. And I do some freelance work, too. It keeps me busy and out of trouble, and also on the road quite a bit! :)
Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have about the house, the neighborhood, or the area in general! And I hope you enjoy your time in B-more not matter where you stay!
