Description

The space

Hi, welcome to my beautiful 1930s rowhome in North Baltimore, located on what was voted the "prettiest street in Baltimore." The large front bedroom features hardwood floors, a large closet, and a full-sized, antique mahogany bed. This can be for a short-term stay, or I have flexibility in terms of a longer-term lease, and I can offer a month-to-month lease (rates would be less for a full month lease). The house is very comfortable, and well decorated and fully furnished with towels, cooking utensils, etc.
Hi, welcome to my 1930s tudor-style, 1800-square-foot rowhome in Baltimore.

It's a cozy, quiet place. I'm a very short drive to most of the major universities in town, including Towson University, Johns Hopkins, Goucher College, Stevenson University, Notre Dame, Loyola University. The house is also very close to many of the major hospitals for traveling nurses—Union Memorial, St. Joseph's Medical Center, GMBC, Good Samaritan, Sheppard Pratt, Sinai, Maryland General Hospital, Kennedy Krieger, Mercy, Johns Hopkins, and more. Belvedere Square, is just two blocks away.

LOCATION: 15 minutes from all the major attractions, Inner Harbor, Baltimore Museum of Art, American Visionary Art Museum, National Aquarium, 2 minutes from Towson, 5 minutes driving distance from light rail and I-83. It's a great spot for parents wanting to check out colleges in Baltimore or visiting your kids who are already here. The house is also just 45 minutes from Washington, DC.

NEIGHBORHOOD: The house is on a quiet, lovely, residential tree-lined street (voted prettiest in Baltimore) in a good, well-established neighborhood. Plenty of street parking. Belvedere Square is walking distance—a few blocks away—and boasts a wonderful summer music festival if you happen to be here on a Friday night in the summer months. It also has a number of restaurants, pubs, and shops as well as the Senator Theater, one of the top-rated art deco style movie theaters in the country, with first-run movies. The house is a 5- minute drive to Whole Foods or Trader Joe's, 5 minutes to the closest mall.

HOME SET UP: There are 2 bedrooms with 1 queen-size bed and 1 full size bed, and 1 futon in the carpeted, above-ground basement. Additionally, the house has 1 large, full bath upstairs + 1/4 bath in basement (it's a Baltimore thing with houses built in this era), eat-in kitchen and granite countertops, gas stove/oven, central A/C, radiator heat, hardwood floors, washer/dryer, sky lights, sunroom/meditation room off the master bedroom, wood-burning fireplace, and much more. Lots of old world charm with updated amenities. Beautifully decorated and furnished. Wi-fi and basic cable provided.

WHAT WILL BE WAITING FOR YOU WHEN YOU ARRIVE:
- Fresh linens and towels
- Hairdryer
- Clock radio
- House manual with everything you need to know about the house and hood.
- Shower and hand soaps
- Directions to and information about local area attractions
- Coffee and teas
- Condiments

PLEASE NOTE: The house has a lot of stairs and is not child proofed, so it's not a great space for families with small children. Also, as much as I love four-legged family members, I have a no pet policy due to allergies! : (

Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. I'm easy going, clean, respectful, friendly (but also understand about personal space needs!). Right now, I'm working from home during the day, but that could change, and I will likely be traveling quite a bit in the upcoming months.

Thanks for your interest!

Guest access

Guests will have access to the full kitchen, full bath, and living/dining room area. There are two TVs in the house--the basement area can be either a bedroom or living space.

Interaction with guests

I'm often on site and try to be available when needed, but also understanding that my guests may want space!!

The neighborhood

This is a well established, quiet Baltimore neighborhood--some of my neighbors have lived there for 20+ years. It's a mix of elderly couples, young families, and single people. It's easy access to just about everything the city has to offer.

Getting around

I'm a five minute drive to the light rail station and there are several bus lines that pick up in the area.

House Rules
Check in is anytime after 2PM

No smoking or pets, please.

Refundable full month security deposit required only for rentals over one month.

It's really a great, comfortable house! I would just ask that you leave it how you found it and treat it as you would your own. I've put a lot of care and love into it and I hope you enjoy staying here!

Beth is awesome, her place is awesome, and the area is awesome. I stayed with beth for a week and was pleased to not just share the space, but to share conversation and stories. She is accommodating and fun with great stories. Coming from Texas, I loves the Sycamore lined street. I wish Id gotten to explore the area more, but at the least, Belvedere Square Market is wonderful. I may be booking another stay shortly.

We had a great time at Beth's place, it met all of our expectations and Beth was an excellent host! The location couldn't have been better, conviently located close to our son's workplace and other attractions, including the Baltimore Museum of Art. We took a cab downtown to Camden Yards to a ball game, for four people the total fare was about $30. Beth is a very interesting and gracious person, we were lucky that she happened to be home while we were there, she says she most often rents the entire house when she is traveling on work. Great experience, great time!

Thank you so much, Dan. It was wonderful to host you and Siri, and I hope to see you next time you're in town visiting your son!! Hope the rest of your travels went well!

Beth was a wonderful host -- there to chat, but giving me plenty of space as well. The house is great, and an easy drive to Johns Hopkins, which is where I was visiting my daughter. Will go there again next time I am in town!

A charming home in a lovely neighborhood. The bed was extra comfy and there is an air purifier unit in the room for white noise, which helped me sleep well even on the first night of my stay. There is a generous closet with hangers, and a bookshelf with an nice selection of guidebooks and novels. Bathroom is convenient and well equipped. Beth is a friendly and interesting person, who at the same time gives her guests plenty of "space'. Note however that there are quite a few steps between the street and the front door and the room is on the upper floor. Beth graciously assisted me with my bags as I have a bad knee. Parking is on the street, but there was always plenty of space (unlike my home neighborhood!). Overall it was highly satisfactory experience.

We were in Baltimore visiting our son and his wife. Beth's home is warm and airy with a feeling of peace and tranquility. It is located in a great neighborhood with easy access to Belvedere Square. We had no idea that Belvedere Square is so much fun. The parking is perfect and we were able to get down to the harbor (where the kids live) in less than 20 minutes. Very easy commute. The bedroom is spacious with a large closet, plenty of hangers and storage bins for clothes. Great water pressure in the shower, too! The entire home was immacculate and Beth made us feel welcome and comfortable. You won't be disappointed!

Beth offers a delightful home away from home with all the amenities we are used to. She is accomodating in every way, and I would highly recommend her as a place to lay your head while in Baltimore.

Hi! Thanks for checking out my home! I've been a host since 2012 and have really enjoyed meeting people from all over the world and reading reviews of those folks I didn't meet, knowing they enjoyed their time at and felt so at peace/at home in my home.

I do work that I love--I'm a freelance contractor in the non profit world, currently working in big cat conservation. And I love yoga, photography, and being in nature. I'm also pretty social!

Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have about the house, the neighborhood, or the area in general! And I hope you enjoy your time in B-more wherever you stay!
