Our 1906 Arts and Crafts home is situated in a historic neighborhood with beautiful homes and mature trees in central Springfield. The cozy room with a vintage wardrobe is reminiscent of the Chronicles of Narnia! Just a couple of blocks from eateries, breweries, shops, Cardinals baseball, Route 66, and galleries, and within walking distance of MSU or a short drive to Mercy Hospital or downtown, this location is ideal for a weekend get-away, college visit, or a longer stay for work!

The space
The cozy room is located in the basement of a historic home. It is fashioned with two windows, a full bath, and a private door exiting to a backyard with a patio furnished with outdoor furniture. This cozy space can accommodate two guests. The room is equipped with a TV, a sitting area with table and chairs, and a kitchenette—including a welcome basket filled with goodies—to make your stay comfortable!

Guest access
Keyless entry allows guests to access external door to the room; the code will be given before check-in. In addition to the private room & bath, guests have access to off-street parking and a fenced-in backyard.

During your stay
Host will be available to offer help throughout guests' stay via the Airbnb app.

Other things to note
This private room is located in the basement of our home and will require all guests to walk on sidewalk, enter a gate, go through the backyard and descend a set of stairs to enter the space. Please exercise caution when navigating as the ground is uneven in some spots.

We have one friendly small puppy and two cats. They will not be in guest spaces in general. However, the puppy is in the backyard at times, and you may hear the pitter patter of his paws in the guest space.

Due to allergies and potential issues with other animals on the property, we do not accept pets or Service Animals/Emotional Support Animals.

Smoking of any kind (e.g., cigarettes, vaping, cannabis) is NOT permitted in the Airbnb space or on the property. You may be asked to leave before your stay is completed if this house rule is violated.

Our house is surrounded by other beautiful old houses and mature trees, making it a wonderful walkable neighborhood. It is within walking distance to local restaurants, bars, galleries, and shops. Just a block and a half north, in the Pickwick & Cherry area of Rountree, Skully's serves delicious ramen noodles and bowls; Tea Bar & Bites serves beautiful pastries, teas, coffees, and scrumptious lunches; and Tie & Timber offers craft beer and live music ! Other restaurants in the area offer delivery and take-out options.
