Dayle and Cary were amazing hosts. They made the process super easy and smooth and anticipated all of my questions. The pictures really don't do that house justice, it exceeded all of my group's expectations!
Perfect ski getaway! The house is very cozy and spacious. Kitchen is well equipped. The host was easy to reach during our stay. All in all a seamless process!!! Thank you so much, Dayle!
We just came back from a wonderful week of skiing in Vail. Our vacation was made even more special having stayed at the Shames’ lovely home. It is spacious and the location right on Gore Creek was a PLUS for the nature lover in me. Even though it was COLD, I loved sitting down by the creek, I even saw a couple of wild ducks swimming around. The place is what I would call 'your home away from home'.... it is luxurious and well equipped with all that you need, right down to the extra paper towels and tissus-paper, which many other places don’t furnish enough of, we always end up buying those. All bathrooms have plenty of towels and the special cachet of the Hot Tub towels beautifully arranged in a basket was a perfect Dayle touch that we all so appreciated. You can tell from the minute you step into the entry to the home that the owners furnished the place with love, for their own enjoyment as well as to share with their lucky guests. I loved the bathrooms, the water pressure was great and everything there was so accessible. There was plenty of storage space both in the bathrooms and in the bedrooms. The Hot Tub was divine after a full day of skiing, just what we needed before going out to dinner. The kitchen is beautifully appointed with all utensils & serving ware, enough for a big group. The pantry had all the spices and condiments needed too, which was so nice! The entire living area was beautifully lit, having dimmer switches for a more intimate setting, and the seating was comfortable & plush. We loved the stone fireplace with french doors, (as well as having our very own fireplace in the master suite). We loved the Huge HD LCD TV. (TVs and DVR in every bedroom) and even though we did not get the chance to turn it on, there is an outdoor stereo system which is totally cool. The enclosed garage was an extra perk with direct access to the house, it was a wonderful place to also store our skis and boots. I must not forget the great Washer & Dryer that were in their own hidden area, conveniently located next to the master suite. Both the top deck and the master suite deck are furnished with comfortable plush seating, and although it was too cold to use them, they did add a lot to the atmosphere. On the top deck was a huge BBQ that we never got to use but that is a wonderful extra perk to have. The neighborhood is lovely, it is a quiet street that is very close to the supermarket & a liquor store that are literally across the divided highway which makes it super convenient. The Shuttle stop is close by and once you figure out the times it becomes easy to catch it going and coming, but I suggest you study those schedules. I...
The house pictures were portrayed perfectly. It is a gorgeous house on a beautiful setting, we loved having the rolling creek in the backyard. The house is big, beds were very comfy!! Upon evening arrival some lightbulbs were out and the host had the handyman attend to it first thing in the morning. Kitchen supplies were more than adequate, towels plentiful, and they even provided toilet paper and paper towels. (I've been at rentals that didn't) The bus stop is close although the bus times didn't always work for us, but the location of the house is such that even taking a cab to the village is easy. Our entire group agreed this was one of our best rentals and I highly recommend it to any family or group going to Vail.
Thanks Marcia for your wonderful review. We love our house too :-). The closet doors in the master do stick once in awhile, and thank you for not trying to force them. They did open a few days before when I was there, but now I will get them adjusted, so thanks for sharing that information - Sorry you didn't have a place for your hanging clothes during your trip. It would be our pleasure to host you in our home again if you plan to come back to Vail!
This house is awesome - comfy beds, amazing proximity to the creek and its soothing sounds, wonderful kitchen and fireplaces and a perfect hottub:) The owner was very accessible and extremely accommodating of all our requests. I would never hesitate to recommend this rental to anyone!
My family and I had a wonderful time at the Gore Creek house or "Vail Villa" as we fondly refer to it. The stream and seating area in the backyard was a pleasant surprise. We loved sitting out there and watching some fly fisherman in action. The proximity to the free bus route was perfect for us and the villa itself was pristine and very inviting. We loved the hot tub and surround sound. We would absolutely come back here in a heartbeat.
Wow. What a wonderful home in a great location. The layout was perfect for our family giving everyone space to have some down time when needed. The hot tub was key and Dayle was great to deal with and even left a game of Yahtzee for us to enjoy. Great experience, gorgeous home and easy transportation.
Thanks Dayle!!! We loved it!
