The location is close to Ping river , market and night barzzar.
Very quite with big tree and big garden.

Chiang Mai is quickly becoming one of the most popular destinations in Thailand. The scenic mountain terrain beckons travellers to explore its peaks and forests, while the city is home to a wealth of historic and cultural sites waiting to be discovered.

Whether you’re the adventurous type who loves outdoor activities or a cultured epicure who loves to experience the finer things in life, a holiday in Chiang Mai will more than satisfy you – it will amaze you.

The Night Bazaar is arguably Chiang Mai’s biggest attraction in its self, leading the modern legacy of the Yuannese trading caravans that would stop here along the ancient trade route between China and Myanmar. Historic attractions are a bit thin on the ground around here. The reason people come to the area is primarily to shop and absorb the lively atmosphere.
There is Wat Ket temple, Scorpion long tail on the river, Sam Sen villa restaurant. Night market , weekend flea market.
And 10 minuets drive to bus terminal And train station. Airport is not so far only 20 minutes drive and we have taxi service toO.

Our place has a kitchen for guest if wan to cook simple food and we have washing machine too.

Other pulls of the Night Bazaar are entertainment focused with a varied selection of bars featuring live performances of boxing, cabaret and singing. However, true to Chiang Mai form there are a few temples speckled around the area; these include Wat Sri Dornchai, Wat Chang Kong and Wat Ubokut. Although these are some of the least spectacular structures within the city it is still well worth checking them out. The Ban Haw Mosque built by the Chin Ho, a group of Chinese Muslims during the 19th century, is also within the Night Bazaar area.

The Neighborhood

We have very good location ; close to warorot market,
Wat Ket Temple, Night Bazar, China town. Easy to Sunday market, Friday Farmer market.

Getting around

very easy from airport to my place. Cols to bus terminal and train station. easy to fin taxi and mini bus.

  • We LOVED our stay with Nui! Her place is exactly as pictured. We enjoyed the new fruits she gave us daily and all of her recommendations on what to do and where to eat. She (along with Phen) we're fabulous hosts! I really can't say enough wonderful things. We will definitely be back to stay with them in the future!

If you are looking for a low key place away from the noisy city - this is the place to stay. Nui's place is just set back far enough from the road that there is hardly any noise. Her patio is cozy to sit at with your morning coffee. Book with Nui!

  • Staying with Nui was an absolute pleasure. Her house is very homely and comforting after a busy day sightseeing in Chiang Mai. The rooms are pretty basic but provide everything you need, Nui also provides bottled water every day as well as breakfast and tea. She is very knowledgeable and happy to provide ideas and information about Chiang Mai so that you make the most of your time there. Would definitely like to stay with Nui when we visit again!

  • Nui and her son, Phen, were very accommodating and helpful during our entire stay in Chiang Mai. Clueless as to where to eat and visit, Nui recommended us to numerous eateries and places to visit. She also gave us some tips for more economical travel and deals. They have two dogs which they adopted and you could pet them when you're there. A simple breakfast selection in which yoghurt, muesli, coffee and tea are available. If you're too lazy to cook eggs yourself in the morning, there's always a duck noodle store opposite the house whereby it's superb. The wifi was also very fast, as compared to our other home stays. We had an enjoyable time at Baan Songjum :)

  • I couldn't have wished for a better place to stay in Chiang Mai. Baan Songjum is perfectly located just outside the city center - very peaceful while only a short walk away to anything you need. The rooms are great. Nui is warm and accommodating, always ready to help you out with any question you might have. A home away from home, highly recommended.

  • This is my first time with AirBNB and my first home stay in Chiangmai even though i have visited there a few times.Parichart is a wonderful host as mentioned in all the other reviews. Her traditional home on stilts is charmingly rustic and cosy and the other more recent additions where the guests stay are simple, clean and functional. The location is just by the ping river, walking distance to Wat Ket,Sunday market and short Songteow ride to almost most of Chiangmai city. She serves a simple breakfast of Coffee, bread, butter and jam or you can make your own eggs, which you just help yourself like your own home. There is a Duck/Chicken noodle shop just across the road she recommended and it was superb. What i really like about the place is the ambience, where you can just relax below the wooden house especially in the evenings, watch TV or read your book and have a wonderful chat with Nui and her son Phen about anything under the sun.She even arranged for her own personal masseur to come and give me a relaxing Thai massage which i must say was an unforgettable experience. And if you are a dog lover, there is Frank and Lana, two lovely, friendly mixed breeds to keep you company.Personaly Nui is also a very interesting person, who shares a lot of stories about her former working life and travels. We just felt that we could stay there forever.Thank you once again Nui and Phen and we will certainly stay with you when we return to Chiangmai

  • This is the ideal homestay. Here you will encounter the kindest people and the most authentic Thai homestay experience. The rooms were comfortable with A/C and the staff was willing to help you with anything you needed in the city. I recommend this homestay to anyone.

  • Nui and her son, Pen, make wonderful hosts! They were so immediately welcoming and warm. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer! When trying to find their place, look for the tallest condo building (this also makes for a great visual when out exploring.) Directly across the street is a little alley. If you follow it, you will find her place with no issues. We felt very safe at all times and had the best time! I can't wait to return!

  • Great place to stay, homey, clean and quiet.. highly recommend. The hosts are amazing, attentive, they are always there for you greeting with smile.

The location is also good. There are public transport pass the front street. You can treat them just like a taxi, tell a driver where you want to go and he will tell you how much he would charge. It is normally pretty cheap.. It will pick up ppl along the way but not an issue for us. Overall, it was amazing.

  • I've traveled all around the world, and never have I experienced such generosity of spirit as I did with Nui and her son, Pen. From the moment I came in to the moment I left, they were there to advise me and care about me. This was important to me especially because I was a woman traveling alone. They helped me book trips and a motorscooter, advised me about transportation and what to do in the city. I'd wake up in the morning and before I left, Nui would have some water and crackers for me. I'd come back in the evening, and they would have fruit for me along with some good, fun conversation. I felt at home there, and I was quite sorry to leave. I felt like I had a connection with them, and when I left for Phuket and Bangkok, Nui said that if I had any problems communicating with Thais, I could call her and she could talk to them for me. Who does that? Only the most special of people.
The room itself was sparse, but it was comfortable, the aircon worked perfectly, and I had everything that I needed.
The next time I come to Thailand, I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.

  • Baan Sung Jum was a home away from home for us when we were in Chiang Mai for a few days. The wooden teak house was simply beautiful and the lush green surroundings was even more beautiful.

Nui and her son, Pen were amazing hosts who treated us like family. They were very warm and friendly, always willing to help us out with anything that we needed :) Lanna and Frank provided me with the affection that I needed when I missed my own dogs back home.

I can't think of a better place to stay when in Chiang Mai, we will definitely be coming back to stay at Baan Song Jum! Thank you so much for having us and we will definitely be missing you, Nui and Pen!

Hi my name is Parichart. Everyone calls me Nui. They said my real name is too long and difficult to pronounce. I used to lived and worked in Bangkok more than30 years. Now I am back to my hometown and I am stay at Baan Sonfjum , my birthplace. No one lives in this house for 4 years so I though I have to maintain and renovated this house. People always asked what does it mean Baan Songjum . The meaning is House of Good Memories. Why's that? Because this house has a long histories of one gentleman from Shan State Burma. My grandfather who built this house . He used to work in the jungle north of Thailand and Burma with his British company. He loved wood special Teak . All house is man made and use only axe to curve all pillars. Every year student from Chiangmai University comes to see my house. Because Baan Songjum was one of the Lanna Teak wood house in Chiangmai. Main house is big and made by teak wood . Guests allow to see the structure of the house and I will show all the pillars and photos of my grand parents in old days in the jungle . And I will tell the stories of the houses and Wat Ket our area. Now I change private house to be Homestay for people who come to visit Chiangmai feel comfortable like stay with friend. Every guest can relax and take their breakfast when they wake up . And feel like they are in comfortable place and good feelings.
