Room with private bath for rent in a lovely home (and garden) in the diverse and active Alberta Arts District.
Our quiet guest room sleeps 2 people in a comfy double bed with lush comforters and blankets. The room is on the main floor along with the full bath, adjacent to the living and dining rooms and kitchen.
The home itself is warm and tastefully decorated with broad windows and fireplace to let in the sunlight and keep you warm and comfortable. The house has wood floors, high ceilings throughout, and a kitchen with an island so the whole group can gather around and cook together. The front porch has either a porch swing or a sitting bench and table depending on the time of year; ideal for a little time outside. You'll enjoy your time here both indoors and out.
The house is fully provisioned. The kitchen is modern with gas stove and all the cookware you'll need to prepare any meal; you can make your own fresh ground cappuccino as well - for those with specific tastes. Washer and Dryer are in the basement.
Pata + Due (two cats) are common company and all they ask is a pet or two and to let them in or out if you're just standing there. They can come and go as they please so you don't have to worry about them at all.
Stroll through the garden or enjoy an outdoor fire! Walk to cafes, restaurants, shops, groceries, theaters and the historic Irvington and Mississippi neighborhoods. Sample the delicious Portland food culture from vegan to omnivorous delights… and some of the best pie in the region! Walk to a movie at the McMennamin's Kennedy School or catch some live music at the Alberta Street Pub or Alberta Rose Theater. If you're lucky enough to be here early Spring to late Fall and it's the last Thursday of the month, our neighborhood holds "Last Thursday" - a free wheeling street festival featuring musicians, singers, dancers, theatre, crafts, art, food and drink, stilt walkers, marching bands and circus performance; it may also feature mud wrestling, free advice booths, and free lavender - you never know what you're going to find, but you'll always have fun!

There are a lot of public transportation options: We are on several major bus lines and one block from a designated biking boulevard. By car we are 10 minutes from the airport, Lloyd Center Mall, Convention Center and Light Rail and less than 15 minutes to downtown Portland.
We have WiFi and one(1) mountain bike you are welcome to use (as long as you keep it locked up).
My partner and I live in the house but our room is on the second floor with it's own bath. We're there so if you need anything, you can let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate you. When we have guests we do try to keep ourselves scarce to respect your privacy.
I work in technology and my partner runs a garden center up the street. We’re in our forties and lead active lives and enjoy the outdoors.
We look forward to having you stay at the house.
We do ask that smoking happens on the back patio or front porch, but not indoors.
Stayed with Chris & Adria a second time because unexpected business brought me back to Portland with very little advance notice. They were wonderfully accommodating. This is such a comfortable, welcoming, and conveniently located house. Great experience all around!
This was an excellent experience. Adria welcomed us and gave us a tour of the house which is absolutely beautiful. Both she and Chris made us feel at home and gave us great restaurant recommendations. Our room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The location is perfect, just one block from Alberta Street. It was easy to reach other parts of the city via bus access and zipcars (several are located within a couple blocks). We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!
