About this listing
After the intensity of the historical center close by, relax in peace and quiet in our beautiful patio or enjoy magnificent views of the medina from the terrace. The house is spacious, full of light and comfortable, the decoration is stunning
This traditional house renovated recently by some of Fez' best craftsmen is a replica in a smaller scale of the stunning palaces which hide behind the high walls of the Medina. The exquisite decoration includes samples of most of Morocco's traditional handicraft: sculpted plaster and painted wood, decorative iron grills, colourful handmade tiles, tadelakt, ceramic, etc...
Furnishing combines the luster of Moroccan tradition with western comfort.
It is ideally situated in a quiet area three minutes's walk from a parking on the main road leading to the heart of the medina and a pleasant stroll away from main historic monuments, craft shops, craftmen's workshops and the famous tanneries. Just around the corner is one of the liveliest food markets in Fez.
On the ground floor two enormous doors open from the furnished patio to a beautiful Moroccan sitting room and to the dining room and the kitchen. On that floor there is also one bathroon. In the sitting room there is a mezzanine with a single bed.
On the first floor two large bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with a double and a single, share a bathroom.
From the roof terrace there are stunning views of the medina with mountains in the background.
Our superb cook will prepare for you to order a variety of dishes and delicious pastry from the exotic fassi tradition.
The price depends on the number of persons. The basic price is for 2 people. From the 3rd person a supplement is applied. Children under 6 free.

Interaction with Guests
Unfortunately we can't receive you ourselves but our friends Amina and Rachid will look after you even better than we would. They live next door and can give you all the help and information you need. Amina comes in every morning while you are there to do a bit of cleaning ( beds, bathrooms and kitchen)
Our area is quiet, not turístic but very close to the historical center. Around the corner there is a very good fresh produce market, banks, taxis and city buses, doctor, bars and restaurants. There is safe parking about 5 minutes away.
Near the house there is a bus stop and taxi stand
The riad is beautiful, clean and very good located. The transfer Dominique arranged was perfect with a kind and helpful driver. The housekeepers Rachid and Amina received us. They tried to sell us dinner, breakfast, guide. It was not really a warm welcome. Didn't even offer us a tea or helpful advice. The second day we called them to tell them 2 friends would come over for the last night. According to the Internet page we had to pay E10 a person but they asked immediately E20 a person until we showed them the page, then saying Dominique must have lowered the price. In short they were complaining about the host. Not really nice to hear as a guest. Internet is only a modemstick for the laptop.
Still would advice the place but be aware! I mailed Dominique about this but she still hasn't replied after 4 days but strangely wrote a review the day after we left.
We stayed in this cozy Riad for a few days over the Christmas holidays. It has a breathtaking view of Fes from the roof terrace and a charming interior. All in all, a great stay with very helpful assistance from Rachid and Amina, who told us everything we needed to know.
Like many Moroccan riads, it was rather cold during the evenings in the atrium, although electric heaters were available in the bedrooms.
We had quite a bit of trouble finding the location. Here is the parking lot near the riad for anyone looking for it:

Very bad experience , I could not stay even one hour ,difficult to get to, bad smile and very old furniture not as in the pic.
Dar Daheb is lovely place to stay in Fez is located in old town (medina) it's near by R'cif place which is a very good place to catch a taxi or bus.
The whole place is in Moroccan style and it's very beautiful, but the steps in house are quite big and very uncomfortable.
Amina and Rahid speak only Arabic and French so it's very hard to communicate in English with them.
The traditional Moroccan food that was served by Amina was very tasty, but one day we've got a problem with our breakfast because Amina overslept and didn't prepare it on time. Later she explained to us that she was tired.
During our stay in Dar Daheb the house wasn’t cleaned even once.
In general we spend a lovely time in Dar Daheb.
Located in old town.
If you want to feel like live in Fez
You stay here is good .
The road is very nallow and complicated .
The another people said same thing , the steps in the house is quite hard to up and down.
And the door go to roof is hard to open too.
And if you speak French or Spanish is ok,
But you speak only English , its quite hard to communicate with maid.
4 of us spent 3 nights at Dar Daheb, a beautiful traditionally renovated Dar w/ lovely modern touches like heating in the bedrooms/bathrooms and a washing machine.
We cooked ourselves and wish there was a blender/pressure cooker in the kitchen.
The only downside was the stairs - they were tough to climb and I don't consider myself to have physical or mobility challenges.
