We have rented several times in El Salvador and throughout Central America both with (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) and with Airbnb and found this property to be in the poorest shape to date. We were quite disappointed and felt somewhat misled by the listing. First off, the half bath had no sink. The caretaker explained that it was because a previous guest had ripped it off the wall. There was also a funky smell in that bath and it was very difficult to flush properly. Two other bathrooms had issues, including a strange smell in the bathroom and a slow leak in the wall or sink (there was a bucket under with significant water stains suggesting it has been there for some time). In the other, the A/C plumbing that goes over the bathroom ceiling was leaking water over the bathroom counter and toilet, including around electrical outlets. Likewise, while the listing says it has 6 bedrooms, it is actually four bedrooms. One has two twins, another has two doubles, and the last two have two attached rooms with a door separating them with two twins and a queen. The double rooms had one A/C unit in one of the two rooms, meaning that you could not feasibly close the door between the two rooms without stifling heat in the outer bedroom (without the A/C) unit. The actual A/C units sounded like semi trucks and more than 20 years old and put out little to no cold air until it cooled down at almost midnight each night. It was so uncomfortable for our two children that we moved to a different room the third night when part of our party left. Finally, the kitchen is in very poor shape. The fridge smelled very strongly of fish and was woefully inadequate in cooling and in size for such a large party. Several doors throughout the house do not close all the way (including bathroom doors) and made it difficult to control our children. The pool, while nice, was clearly off in chemicals when we arrived and I don't believe it was ever really corrected. The caretaker did diligently vacuum and clean it daily but was randomly throwing chlorine in at night and did not seem to actually check that the chemicals were correct. Our children had very sore and stinging eyes the second day because there was too much chlorine. The gate at the beach exit is also completely unsafe. There is exposed rusted iron bits as well as an old razor wire fence that was hanging within reach of our children. We also had random people stop by the beach gate asking to see the house while we were there. According to the caretaker, this is a common practice, but I felt unsafe when a crowd of some 15 people were waiting at the back door to see the house without any notice. On a few occasions, children of the caretaker's family wandered through the house and the yard and were playing with...

Our group had an awesome time! The house was exactly what we were looking for in terms of amenities and location. You basically have your own stretch of beach, which was bioluminescence at night!

What can I say? Probably one of the most relaxing and beautiful vacations I've had! Thank you! The house is spacious and cozy, the garden, the pool and the hammock area are all great. But mainly, the house is set on a wonderful beach where you can enjoy nature at its best! Just beautiful! Fatima, the lady who cleans and looks after the house, was great and also a wonderful cook! We bought fresh fish from the nearby fishermen (from the "cooperativa" just 5 minutes away from the house) and she prepared a wonderful fish ceviche, fried fish and grilled prawns. Amazing! It was a wonderful family vacation. We felt safe both at the house and at the beach. Would recommend it to anyone! Muchisimas gracias por todo! Fue realmente un placer y esperamos volver!

Alfonso's house was even better than the pictures. It was so spacious, clean and inviting! Every morning we woke up, we were amazed at the sight of our 'backyard'. You can walk straight onto the ocean where the swimming is amazing, and there are very few people. Sunset from the three hammocks in the yard is breathtaking, and the pool is always clean and inviting. You may even fall in love with some of the animals that spend time on the property, just a plus! The housekeepers were a beautiful family and became somewhat a family of ours as well. They set up a Christmas tree and made us food for the holidays, which was extremely kind. We all felt so at home and are looking forward to renting this place again. Its a half hour walk to the town center but many drivers were kind enough to give us a ride, and there's also the option of renting a car, if you'd like. There are $1 buses to get to the next town (Chirilagua) or to San Miguel, where there are more options when it comes to shopping. It's a beautiful house and you won't regret renting it! Hope you have a great stay!

My family (wife and 2 toddlers) went down to Alfonso's house with some friends during Spring Break. We love it in El Cuco; beautiful, clean, white sand beach with a good swimming ocean. Then, a couple minutes away you have the best surf break in El Salvador! The real reason why we go down there. We found Alfonso's house by searching on the internet and it was awesome! Great location right on the beach, you can hear and see the ocean. Great pool. Great baby pool for our two kids. Great bedrooms with cold AC (it is HOT in El Cuco). The caretakers are super friendly and always keeping the place clean (we never cleaned a dish). The house is very spacious, very open layout. We had 10 adults there and it never felt crowded. The outside patios are also spread out and spacious. Really, just a great design for chilling at the beach. I have rented down in El Cuco before and Alfonso's house is much better then the previous houses we have rented, and it is less expensive. This place is totally worth getting if you are with a family or bringing a group of people. Having your own house, kitchen, and pool makes a vacation for me. 5 star experience all around. Alfonso was on top of e-mailing and keeping in contact during the whole transaction. We will definitely be renting this house again on our next surf trip to El Cuco. Thanks Alfonso!
