One bedroom with a double bed, dresser, desk, and closet. It's not large, but plenty livable. You are sharing the apartment with me and no more than two other guests.
There is free wireless Internet. Sheets and towels are provided, and there is a paid laundromat on the commercial floor of the building.
You have full access to the kitchen, with a variety of coffee and tea drinks. The living room is also freely available - the TV has basic channels, Netflix, and a DVD/Blue-ray player.
Interaction with Guests
I, personally, am not the most outgoing person, so I will generally let you be. But I'm more than happy to help you with any questions about NYC. I live here full-time, so any problems are immediately taken care of.
The official neighborhood name is "Hamilton Heights" and is located in upper west Manhattan. It's an active residential neighborhood that is safe at all times, even late at night. A predominately Dominican neighborhood, you'll hear as much Spanish as English.
There are a growing number of places to eat, with the sit-down restaurants leaning to Dominican/Mexican. Like any good city neighborhood, you can find 95% of what you need within 2 or 3 blocks. The subway is located just three blocks away.
A three block walk to the 1 subway train, followed by a 20 minute ride lands you in Times Square, with easy access to the entire west side of Manhattan - Lincoln Center, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, the West Village, and the World Trade Center. From Times Square you can transfer to nearly every train in the system.
Other Things to Note
I'm in my early 30's, formerly an IT consultant turned theatrical stagehand, and have lived here for over 10 years. The two guest bedrooms are at one end of the apartment, my room is at the opposite end of the apartment from your rooms, giving you privacy. We do share the living room, kitchen and bathroom.
Lastly, because of the extended length of stay, PLEASE have a completed Airbnb profile, with a real picture, verified IDs, (website hidden) link, etc. I need to know you're who you say you are!
Please no smoking or candles.
Absolutely no drug use allowed.
Lost keys are $30 per set.
You can come and go as you wish, I only ask that if you come home late at night you minimize use of the kitchen light and cooking - the lights and smell wake me up. The noise I don't care about (do be aware the hallway floors are creaky).
Pillows, sheets and towels are provided. I will provide fresh towels every three days and fresh sheets every seven days. For stays longer than four weeks, laundry of these items will be your responsibility.
I really recommend this place for anyone who is planning to stay in New York. The apartment has everything you may need and the room is very confortable - and quite for those who need to work. The neighborhood is quite safe and easy to move around Manhattan. Michael is a great host, he was very helpful and generous.
Michael was a nice host. Our room was clean and a very convenient location, close to the subway station.
We stayed here for 3 days. Everything was as described. Nice place, good location. We didn`t have any problems staying in this comfortable room. The bed is really large! Michael is very hospitable and reliable person. Great price and excellent place for stay. Thanks for all!
A friend and I visited NYC for four days and our stay was perfect!! The appartment is located in a very nice neiborhood and a few blocks from the subway. Quiet and very safe. The room is exactly as it seems in the pictures, the bed is very comfortable and Michael is really nice and a great host! He wasn't at home most of the time but we had everything we need. We enjoyed our stay so much and if whenever we think about going back we will choose Michael again for sure!
Excellente adresse que je recommande chaudement
Michael est super sympa, on se sent bien chez lui, chambre très propre et très confortable
une ligne direct de métro juste à coté
We stayed here for days and the those five days went by very smoothly. The host (Michael) was great from the begining. The room was perfect for the two of us and we did not encounter any problems what-so-ever. It fit our budget and was located within a reasonable amount of time (~30 minutes) to the major attractions.
We stayed two times at Michaels apartment. First time in room (a) second time in room (b). We enjoyed his location:
- beds are comfortable
- everything was clean
- enough space for us
- everything was as described
- subway is 3 blocks away
Michael is a reliable and a quiet person. As we haven't seen Michael often. He organized everything in advanced which worked absolutely fine.

I'm in my mid-thirties and have lived in this apartment for over 10 years (that's a long time, by NYC standards!). I became an AirBnB host after losing my job, and have now been hosting for 2 1/2 years while in school for a career change. It's been great meeting everyone on here!
I used to work as an IT consultant for a small company, specializing in network and server administration. Now, I'm studying to work in entertainment technology (think Broadway, concerts, etc). For fun I enjoy hiking, camping, playing casual league sports (flag football, soccer, kickball, etc). And of course the huge variety of events in NYC.
