Simple but cheap in Manhattan! (b)

Apartment - Private room · Broadway, New York, NY 10031, United States

The Space

I have two bedrooms available. This is the "library" room.
To see the other bedroom, go here:
To rent both bedrooms together, go here:

A three block walk to the 1 subway train, followed by a 20 minute ride lands you in Times Square, with easy access to the entire west side of Manhattan - Lincoln Center, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, the West Village, and the World Trade Center. From Times Square you can transfer to nearly every train in the system.

One bedroom with a double bed, dresser, and closet. It's not large, but plenty livable. You are sharing the apartment with me and no more than two other guests.

You have full access to the kitchen (with a variety of Keurig coffee and tea drinks). The living room is also freely available - the TV has basic channels, Netflix, and a DVD/Blue-ray player.

There is free wireless Internet. Sheets and towels are provided. Laundry, if you need it, is located in the building (but with an outside entrance).

The official neighborhood name is "Hamilton Heights" and is located in upper west Manhattan. It's an active residential neighborhood that is safe at all times, even late at night. A predominately Dominican neighborhood, you'll hear as much Spanish as English.

There's a growing number of places to eat, with the sit-down restaurants leaning to Dominican/Mexican. Like any good city neighborhood, you can find 95% of what you need within 2 or 3 blocks. The subway is located just three blocks away.

You will be sharing the apartment with me and up to 2 other guests. I'm in my early 30's, formerly an IT consultant returning to the backstage theater world, and have lived here for nine years. The other guests, if there are any, will be in the bedroom directly adjacent to yours. We all share the living room, kitchen and bathroom.

I, personally, am not the most outgoing person, so I will generally let you be. But I'm more than happy to help you with any questions about NYC. I spend much of my time in my bedroom/home office working on a new startup business.

When and How Much
On the upper-right side of the screen, just above the picture of my pretty face, you'll see a spot to fill in the dates and number of people. This will tell you if the apartment is available and how much it will cost.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Michael's place is an incredible deal for Manhattan. The room was larger than expected, and was plenty of room for my boyfriend and I. Sharing the bathroom was not a problem at all, as it was kept very clean. Conveniently located near the Subway, it was easy to explore all of Manhattan and Brooklyn from Michael's place. As a host, Michael is very kind, generous, easy to get along with, and a great person- highly recommend if you need a clean, convenient, and cheap place to stay!

  • We stayed two times at Michaels apartment. First time in room (a) second time in room (b). We enjoyed his location:
    - beds are comfortable
    - everything was clean
    - enough space for us
    - everything was as described
    - subway is 3 blocks away
Michael is a reliable and a quiet person. As we haven't seen Michael often. He organized everything in advanced which worked absolutely fine.

  • Michael was a great host. The apartment is really cozy, clean and it has all the facilities you need. The location is awesome, just 2 blocks from the subway and 12 - 15 minutes to all Manhattan attractions, also is a safe neighborhood.

    Strongly recommended.

No tuvimos ningun inconveniente.

Es más económico para visitar: museos, Top of the Rock, Empire State buiding...

  • Michael was so awesome! Super flexible with his schedule, checked in on us but didn't hover, etc etc. The place was nice, and right near the 1 train so going downtown was super convenient and took 20 minutes, TOPS. The neighborhood is okay, but for the price pretty good. We made lots of coffee and Michael was even hospitable enough to print our bus tickets for us before we left. The room was nice (bigger than in the photos) and the bathroom and kitchen were clean and well-kept. Great place.

  • We had a great stay of two weeks at Michael's place, it is clean and quiet and very close to the subway. Michael is really friendly and helpful with everything. Totally recommend it!

I'm in my early thirties and have lived in this apartment for over 8 years (that's a long time, by NYC standards!). Having recently lost my job, I decided now is as good a time as any to try airbnb as a host. I used to work as an IT consultant for a small company, specializing in network and server administration. Now, I'm working from home on a new web-based application for Network Engineers. For fun I enjoy hiking, camping, playing casual league sports (flag football, soccer, kickball, etc). And of course the huge variety of events in NYC.
