Response from Pierre:
Thanks for your review Canku, I'm a bit bit surprised about the cleanliness feedback as carpet are rare in the house. The floor is vacuum cleaned with a Dyson + mop afterward, which I did in front of you. About the kitchen, I asked you to go to the beach for an hour but you didn't leave me time to clean it properly as you dropped your stuff all over the kitchen and start to make coffee. Towels and linen where just out of the washing machine a day ago. Pierre

Beautiful view of the sea from the patio, the hammock and the upstairs balcony. House is actually nicer than the photos. Pierre and his wife were perfect hosts, helping us to find beaches, restaurants and the interesting village of Alacati. Visit the bazaar on Saturdays in Alacati and don't miss Asma Paragi Restaurant. We also visited some beaches on the other side of Alacati which were less crowded and felt remote even though they were a few minutes from Alacati.

All in all it was a pleasant experience. The air conditioning, which is only in the basement, was much appreciated when it was nearly 40 Celsius! Unfortunately we experienced several power failures, which is not uncommon in Turkey but Pierre was always helpful in solving the problem and a good communicator. For dinner, we especially enjoyed using the barbeque to grill fish! During the daytime we preferred going to two nearby beaches, which are privately run beach clubs (e.g. Quente) with a rather hefty entrance fee of 80 TL per person. In exchange you get impeccable sandy beaches and water, which are ideal for smaller children, since they are rather shallow for 50 metres+. The public beaches tend to be very crowded and also charge for using their umbrellas. About 1 km away from the flat, there is a bakery and grocery. A little further the supermarket Migros provides all further necessities.

Pierre and Karina made our visit to Turkey very relaxed and enjoyable. The house was lovely and clean and just as described. It is only a short walk to beaches or a swimming platform nearby. They were both considerate and friendly to us, gave us good recommendations for things to do nearby and helped us to make the best of our holiday. Pierre also runs a kitesurfing company and showed endless patience giving us lessons in the lovely warm shallow water along the coast in Urla. We would be please to recommend the area, accommodation and kitesurfing.
