The Shirttail Bunkhouse is the perfect spot to get away from the city and decompress in the country. Sip your morning coffee from the porch as the farm gets going every day. In the evening grill some steaks out back or head into downtown Brenham to check out several of the great spots our town offers!

The space
The Bunkhouse is a charming and cozy 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom 1935 bungalow with original long leaf pine floors. There are two bedrooms, one with a Queen bed, the other with a full bed and two twin bunk beds. The couch has a Queen fold out bed. There is 1 bathroom.

The house has a private and fenced backyard with a deck and plenty of space to grill, sit under the stars around the fire pit, play a game of corn hole or just enjoy a cold beverage at sunset. The front of the house has a hammock and picnic table located beneath a shady grove of Crepe Myrtle Trees....it's a good spot to sip your coffee and gaze across the length of the farm while watching the daily hustle and bustle of egg collections, feeding the pigs, moving cattle, and whatever else goes on here....it's a little different every day :).

We also just completed our new communal Sauna/ Cold Plunge/ Outdoor Shower pavilion just next to the bunkhouse. It’s communal because we use it too :) if that type of thing is up your alley it’s available to use for our 18+ guests.

Full Disclosure: This is a working farm! You will see and/or hear the goings on of the farm from time to time. Also the building where we house our refrigeration and where we pack eggs every day is located near the Bunkhouse. Our team generally collects and then packs eggs between the hours of 12pm - 6:30pm daily. On Saturday mornings early we load our box truck out front with coolers to take products to Austin farmers markets. We are quiet and respectful when doing that and haven't had anyone complain about it but just want to paint an accurate picture for you!

Guest access
You will have full and exclusive access to the Bunkhouse, the front yard space and the fenced back yard (about a half acre in total). Because this is a real working farm with big machines, electric fences in some spots, and livestock and the liability that comes along with all of that, guests are PROHIBITED from wandering around the farm unsupervised (don't wanna sound harsh but it's super important). Don't worry, in addition to the dedicated space around the Bunkhouse, there are miles of country dirt roads for you to explore by foot or on your bikes (we recommend mountain bikes)....or by car :). Also because a county road goes right through the middle of our farm you can see pretty much everything easily from the road!

WALKING FARM TOURS CAN BE BOOKED WITH THE HOST. PLEASE INQUIRE AT LEAST 7 DAYS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL (be prepared to get your shoes dirty)! We love to share our farm with folks and will do our best to accommodate your needs. TOURS ARE AVAILABLE FOR GUESTS ONLY and cost $50 for up to 4 people ($15 per person for additional people). BOOKING THE HOUSE DOES NOT GUARANTEE A FARM TOUR. If having a farm tour during your stay is a requirement for you, please message the host prior to booking to ensure availability! THANK YOU!!!

Other things to note
Dogs are allowed in the Bunkhouse and the fenced back yard. If you bring dogs, they must stay in the house or yard as we have loose livestock and other farm dogs and cats that roam.
