About this listing
Charming, comfy Master bedroom available in our pleasant traditional style home in the delightful Crocker Highlands community. Crocker Highlands is an affluent neighborhood nestled between Piedmont in the north and Lakeshore Avenue in the east. Our home is located 15 minutes walking distance to Lakeshore and Grand Avenues and a host of restaurants, cafes, the Grand Lake Theater and shops in the Grand Lake district. We are also a few minutes away from a bus stop for the transbay bus to SF and a busline that takes you to BART/ downtown Oakland. You will have your own privately furnished room which includes a bed, tv with , a small refrigerator and a shared bathroom. You will have access to a Netflix, a fully stocked kitchen, laundry and a backyard with a deck and lots of redwood trees. I have a small friendly, well mannered dog who would love to accompany you on walks in the neighborhood. My home is kid friendly and we welcome guests with children. My children live with me part time...they are also well mannered! We often stay with friends when we sublet the house. I do have one roommate who will remain. I love entertaining and have been told I am a pretty good cook. I would be willing to provide meals for an additional fee. An additional bedroom may be available at an additional cost. Sorry, but I am not able to accommodate guests with pets.
Guest will have access to all common areas of the house.
Interaction with Guests
I am quite busy with work and graduate school. However, I am usually home to greet guests. If I am not able to, then I will make arrangements with each guest for check in. I usually allow guest their privacy and space. I also enjoy engaging in conversations with guests when they are interested in doing so!
Crocker Highlands is a lovely neighborhood with gorgeous homes and beautifully cultivated gardens. It's a wonderful place to walk around and soak in the historic architecture. Each home is really unique.
I also love that you can walk to Lake Merritt or even downtown Oakland where there are plenty of great cafes and restaurants. There's nothing like a picnic on the lake at dusk!
In order to go to San Francisco from my house, you can take a trans-bay commuter bus during the weekdays (departures-mornings and returns- late afternoons only). The bus stop is around the block. Otherwise in order to reach the city, you must take a bus to downtown Oakland then take BART.
Other Things to Note
A mini refrigerator is located in the kitchen exclusively for Air Bnb guests. Street parking is usually available. It is necessary for guests to park partially on the sidewalk because the street is very narrow!
