The only thing I had in mind about my recent San Francisco trip was that I wanted to stay in or as near to Bernal Heights, where my daughter lives. The Cozy Home hosted by Daryl Wells was a fantastic find! We were so lucky it was available. The two bedrooms; master and downstairs guest, were roomy and wonderfully decorated with art. The baby's room was delightful, complete with changing table, if you need to use it. The two bathrooms were upscale with black & white tile and glass partitions. The kitchen, dinning & living rooms give a great place to visit with perfect energy flow. The huge patio, which is off the kitchen, has a beautiful view of the hills and waterways toward the south. The only drawback is parking. But the walk to Cortland Ave and it's community life is so convenient (with terrific restaurants), you park once and don't really need your car again until you leave. It was our first AirBnB experience and we found it a joy! Thank you! Lvon Halle, from Arizona
This is a truly fantastic place! I live in Bernal Heights and needed a nearby place for my mother to stay over the holidays. We could not have found a cozier, cleaner, cuter house than this for her visit. It has the personality and charm of an artist's home (you'll see when you stay: Daryl has a great eye for color and proportion) ... along with practical, high quality amenities (fabulous shower, nice kitchen appliances, BBQ + huge deck.) It's also in a great part of Bernal Heights (think sunshine, walkability and food!) On several mornings, my mom and I took a short walk to a sweet French/Japanese Bakery owned by a local couple. Just a few blocks away, Cortland Ave hosts a whole row of amazing restaurants (Italian, Californian, Japanese, Peruvian) as well as several cute little cafes and a bookstore. We loved the regular Sunday bluegrass band at one of the local bars - The Lucky Horseshoe. There's also a park on the top of the hill with some of the best views in town, and, if you have kids, two lively playgrounds. Daryl and Thomas are lovely, low key and welcoming hosts and I'm looking forward to recommending their home to visitors in the future.
