We frequently give tours on our farm where we do things as organically as possible. Our farm features horses, sheep, poultry, cows, a tiny fruit orchard, a greenhouse and honeybees.
Our goals this year are to add an outdoor grill and two vintage bicycles and helmets. Keep your fingers crossed that this works out!!! We do not allow pets since we strive to keep the cottage as allergy-free as possible.

Guests are welcomed to their own private drive leading to their cottage in a little wood. From memorial day to Labor day guests are welcome to use the outdoor spa room, with an antique roll top tub and a shower that hangs from a tree, sparkling lights and candles. There is a deck for outdoor breakfast weather permitting and two bicycles that guests are welcome to use in our neighborhood.
Interaction with Guests
As much as needed, we always try to welcome our guests and of course take care of any needs they have, but most people come here for a get away and need time to themselves. So we try to be very aware of how much interaction our guests are needing. One way some guests like to get to know us is having a farm tour. (Please ask for the tour at reservation time so we can plan ahead)
It is rural in a wild and beautiful way. State forest lands are so beautiful to hike and there are old farm houses and hill top views as you are driving about.
NO! anything but, we are very rural, please expect that along with the peaceful buffer of beautiful land around us comes a somewhat long drive to eat out or shop!!
Other Things to Note
please, no pets. we are a farm.
Our family welcomes you to tour the farm, with a family guide. (Please let us know at reservation time so we can plan ahead) There is no smoking inside, and we prefer no children upstairs as it is a loft. The hours to come and go are totally flexible if you contact us beforehand, so we know what to expect, but you cannot check in before 3pm, as we may still be cleaning from previous guests. Come to the blue far house to check in and we will get you settled!
A perfect place for a romantic get away! Cozy, peaceful, beautiful surroundings, and extremely pleasant hosts. The breakfasts were amazing. A nice area for country drives and hikes, but to be honest, we loved just being in the cabin!! We were sad to leave and will definitely return!
We had a great time at the Small Graces cabin over New Years. Jen, Dean and their amazing family provide a great place to stay with excellent breakfast and lots of ideas for things to do in the area. We had some awesome hikes! Would definitely stay here again. We had a great time, Thanks you!
This is a perfect weekend getaway for two. The cottage is quirky (think compost toilet, a pull-down ladder, a cute old iron bed in the loft) and cute. The location is private but still close enough to the Whitmore's house, where you can walk to it or see their lights twinkling in the night, so as to not be entirely creeped out. It's close to Ithaca and various hikes so you have things to do in the day.
I guess my only advice is that in the winter hunting period you can't really go hiking or walking in the nearby State Forest, so be prepared to drive a few miles to hike, trek etc.
Oh and the Whitmores make and deliver a delicious fresh farm breakfast to you every morning. The cranberry bread is to abslutely die for!
We loved our stay at this little cabin in the woods. It was comfortable and clean, and it stayed warm with the gas stove. We really enjoyed the breakfast every morning, it was such a luxury to have a delicious breakfast delivered to our door! We will definitely stay here again the next time we're in the Finger Lakes region, it was the perfect place to rest and relax.
A warmest welcome and cozy cabin - couldn't help but relax. Truly there are many highlights.... the kind hospitality of our hosts and their family, a delicious homemade breakfast to start each day (french toast and goat sausage were my favorite!) , the surrounding pastures were so soothing, waking to distant sounds of the farm animals. A down to basics, unplugged get-away! Thank you! and hope to see you again soon!
We arrived late on the check-in date (around midnight) and Dean (host's husband) was more than accommodating. They left on all of the lights for us, since it is on the edge of the woods, and even came over to make sure we knew how to work things. The cabin is an adorable, romantic little dream. It is small, but cozy, and the scent of the timber throughout is relaxing. For being in the woods, this place is pretty spotless. The outdoor spa was also romantic and unique, and even made me face my fear of spiders! And the breakfasts? I have no words. All locally sourced ingredients prepared into a fresh hot breakfast delivered right to the door each morning. Your choice to eat inside or outside. All with a side of organic french press coffee and fresh orange juice, and you've got the breakfast of champions. You can tell this place is maintained with love. Thank you, Whitmore family, for making our 4th anniversary such a special one!
If you are looking for a romantic getaway away from the hustle and bustle this is perfect. The cabin is really comfortable for 2 adults. We had the best sleeps we'd had in decades, waking up to the sounds of the farm animals daily. The outdoor spa is ingenious and lovely - lots of great hot water and candles to create a lovely mood! The breakfasts were amazing, much of which was homemade or locally sourced and were sufficient to tide us over to dinner. Eating outside every morning was a wonderful way to start the day. You really don't need to bring anything. Basics were in the cabin like a coffee maker with filters and coffee, matches to light candles and piles of towels. We did take a portable bbq which we used in the evening to grill fish or cook a burger. We've already told many friends about your wonderful hideout. BTW we visited the farmers market in Ithaca en route home. We bought lots and enjoyed it +++ Thanks Jennifer for your kindness and hospitality. We will be back for sure.
About the Host, Jennifer
I am a momma farmer artist. My hubby and family built our B&B from scratch. We love cooking, vintage, recycling, organic, gardening, reading, creating, thrifting, hiking, rock climbing and our family always comes first. We homeschool and we are an adoptive family. We love living in the country and we try to source our food locally because we think it tastes better fresh and from farmers that we know.
