Please check our detailed description! we are not a typical place to stay, it is unplugged as far as wiFi, green as in composting toilet and organic breakfasts, and a very "tiny-house" type of experience. Requests for 2 night weekends, only please.

The space

Small Graces B&B. Our family rents our small timber frame cottage at the edge of a wood, on our 18 acre farm. Built very "green", with composting potty, no VOC paint and finishes. Ships-ladder style steps to upstairs loft room, that we do not recommend for elderly or children!!! Includes full bathroom indoors with antique roll-top platform tub, kitchenette includes microwave, sink, mini fridge and toaster oven, indoor and outdoor eating areas, upstairs antique iron full bed, downstairs Queen size futon. Outdoor private sparoom. Simple and local decorating. We welcome you to take a hike in the nearby state forest lands, or drive to Cayuga lake in near-by Ithaca, NY. (Fingerlakes area)
We are out in the country, but a beautiful drive to Ithaca, Binghamton, Watkins Glen. Great places to eat in Owego and Ithaca, including the famous vegetarian Moosewood Cafe.
Your kitchenette is stocked with many local items, and organic items for a yummy breakfast. Outdoor spa-room with a shower hanging from a tree makes a romatic getaway for two!! Our family welcomes children, for an additional small fee.
Our farm features horses, sheep, poultry, cows, a tiny fruit orchard, a greenhouse and honeybees. You need to schedule farm tours at the time of booking.
Our goals this year are to add an outdoor grill and two vintage bicycles and helmets. Keep your fingers crossed that this works out!!! We do not allow pets since we strive to keep the cottage as allergy-free as possible.
And please note: this listing is including all applicable taxes!

Guest access

Guests are welcomed to their own private drive leading to their cottage in a little wood. From memorial day to Labor day guests are welcome to use the outdoor spa room, with an antique roll top tub and a shower that hangs from a tree, sparkling lights and candles. There is a deck for outdoor breakfast weather permitting and two bicycles that guests are welcome to use in our neighborhood.

Interaction with guests

As much as needed, we always try to welcome our guests and of course take care of any needs they have, but most people come here for a get away and need time to themselves. So we try to be very aware of how much interaction our guests are needing. One way some guests like to get to know us is having a farm tour. (Please ask for the tour at reservation time so we can plan ahead)

Other things to note

please, no pets. we are a farm.
there is a COMPOSTING toilet. Sunmar brand, please research this brand on the internet, if you have never used one before so you can know what to expect.
Ship style ladder, which will not match up well with Elderly or Children. Thank you!

Jennifer's house was beautiful, cozy, and secluded. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch at night with the great little hanging candles. The only difficulty we had was that with no way to cook dinner, and a long drive to town, we were lost as to how to eat a decent dinner. Our hosts did kindly lend us an electric stove but still, there were no pots and pans. I'd suggest just planning ahead for this.

The cottage was charming, clean and very comfortable for us. We had a very pleasant stay, and the hosts were friendly and professional. Breakfast in the mornings was delicious! We highly recommend, especially if you're looking for a quiet place to stay a bit out of the way of the bustle of town.

Thank goddess for "Small Graces," aka Jenn & Dean's tiny dream cottage in the woods. This little slice of heaven is nearish enough to Ithaca (& Bingo, etc) to be the ideal home base for whatever you've got planned. Jenn & Dean were SO accommodating (we arrived in the middle of a snowstorm hours later than planned), hospitable, and warm. At the close of our two-day stay consisting of exploring Ithaca, chilling in the tub, and reading/napping in the cozy loft, we awoke on Valentine's Day to the most magical special breakfast (they made chocolate! & breakfast pizzas!). It was a memorable stay, and I hope to one day return!

This is a wonderfully unique place to stay. The hosts are warm and welcoming. Peaceful and just rustic enough. We only stopped for the night while passing through but I can tell there is so much more here.

A great, semi-rustic cabin. Delicious organic breakfast. The location is very secluded and quiet, easy to find, and close enough to area attractions. Don't be put off by the composting toilet, really not too intimidating. Great hosts.

Response from Jennifer:
Thanks, you two! We really appreciate your kind words! We hope you enjoyed your stay, sorry about the bed, its just a double! With your input we will talk about the size and see what we might be able to change. Maybe a homemade frame that would fit?! Now I am brainstorming...its tricky finding the right fits in such tiny spaces.Have a great rest of your summer! peace and love, Jenn

Lovely little house, and a delicious breakfast delivered to your door. Many little grace notes abound, from the pitcher of water thru to the covered porch.

The tiny cabin is a lovely get away. Our family of three loved the quiet, as well as the easy access to the parks for swimming ( waterfalls) and local farmers markets, which made perfect evening dinner locations and fun for each of us.Jenn's family is welcoming and was kind enough to include our daughter in playing with kittens and camp fires. It was a lovely connection.
