From the start, Viky's communication and coordination were top notch. He was entirely responsive, helpful and flexible. Upon arrival at Port-Au-Prince, the hotel sent me a driver who picked me up at the airport and transported me safely to the hotel. Because of traffic, it took about 20min. Viky's mom runs the hotel and took care of everything. She made it easy and you didn't have to worry about anything. She handled all the details including providing a mobile phone.
The single room was simple with clean bed and a private bathroom. The shower had only cold water while I was there but no big deal. The place was peaceful. The courtyard has a swimming pool and plenty of outdoor seating where you can use wifi.
The hotel has a restaurant that provides simple good local food.
Good experience for first time visit in Haiti. Thanks Viky.
As a visitor and sometime inhabitant of Port-au-Prince since the Eighties, I was overjoyed to discover this relatively new yet wonderfully warm and welcoming hotel in the foothills of Pacot, one of my favorite (and one of the safest) neighborhoods in Haiti's tumultuous capital. The key to its success and its delightfully informal but caring ambience is Madame Verna, a completely bilingual Haitian "empress" who rules her roost with a kind and ever-spontaneous hand. Mme Verna sets the tone for a hotel that keeps a small and personalized feel despite the fact that it is already still growing, thanks to its hospitable vibe and its reasonable rates. The atmosphere is slow, tranquil, and, by poolside, occasionally filled with the sound of kids having fun as they splash about. My smallish but complete-with-full bathroom room provided all of my basic needs, with the air conditioning working well except for the two nights out of 23 when the city provided zero current. An inverter ensures that lighting is not off for long, and the slight imperfections due to power supply are easily offset by such secret extras as a superb third-floor terrace that commands a fabulous view of the lush local scenery and well beyond. Tasty meals are available at a reasonable price when needed by guests, and while some members of the staff could use a bit more training, they are almost always friendly and helpful once you get to know them just a wee bit. Security is fine, protected by a barriere, and Mme Verna's genuine concern for her guests' comfort can't help but make you an eager return visitor should the four winds blow you back to PACOT BREEZE!.
I had a wonderful stay at Pacot Breeze. Viky arranged everything perfectly and was in touch well before my trip. His mom, who runs Pacot Breeze, was also a big help before the trip, which was very reassuring, since I didn't know what to expect in Haiti. Pacot Breeze itself was a pleasure. The location was close to downtown Port au Prince, but up in the hills surrounded by trees. I loved the rooftop terrace, relaxing by the treetops and watching lots of birds, especially in the mornings. Viky's mom, Madame Verna, is a gem. Her warm Haitian hospitality and beautiful place are unforgettable. A big recommendation from me.
My friend and I were tourist in Haiti for two weeks (two women). The Pacot Breeze is a gem in Port au Prince and during out incredible visit to Haiti. We used the Pacot Breeze as the initial accommodation when we first landed and to get ourselves orientated. We then left our suitcases (as it was easier to travel by public transport with small backpacks) with Madam Verna (Viky's mom, who runs the place) and she is just a delightful, kind, welcoming and very informative woman. She speaks English and was so helpful and thoughtful in our travels. She was like our auntie in PaP. Viky was extremely communicative prior to our arrival and during. The Pacot Breeze is well priced (given that Haiti can be expensive, accommodation wise) and it has an amazing view. It was quiet so we could catch up in between heading north to south and then back north, while exploring the beautiful country. We loved our visit in Haiti and so happy to have stayed at Pacot Breeze while in Port au Prince. Hope to come back! I highly recommend it!
