The Neighborhood

Neighborhood: BERNAL HEIGHTS. San Francisco's back yard, lovingly cultivated in a loose patchwork of neighborhood gardens and stairways by residents. Bernal Hill offers one of the city's landmark wraparound views. Is frequently warm and sunny when the rest of the city can be cold and foggy.

This is the ideal location for visitors in San Francisco, whether they are tourists looking to see the city with a relaxing home base, or business people looking for a place away from the hustle and bustle of downtown but still in a convenient location.

The property is conveniently located a few blocks south of Cortland Avenue, the heart of sunny Bernal Heights, which includes a wonderful selection of restaurants, cafes, bakeries and independently owned boutiques and shops. Within the vicinity, we have our own library, fitness gym, dry cleaner, pet store, video store, florist, as well as beautiful parks and closeness to the Mission neighborhood.

A few short blocks away is San Francisco’s famous Alemany Farmers Market (Sat) and Flea Market (Sun). Urban hikes are plentiful in our beautiful Bernal neighborhood, with the highlight at the top of Bernal Heights Park, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the city and the Bay.

Local residents are a friendly, eclectic mix of families, professionals, dog lovers and young couples with babies.

  • Had a great weekend in Bernat's comfy and cozy studio! The deck outside is gorgeous and an absolute pleasure when the weather is nice! Thanks for everything!

  • Bernat's place was great. Such a beautiful neighborhood. Walk one way and you hit the mission, walk another and you're on Cortland street with cute shops and coffee houses. The apartment was clean, and comfortable. Really, a good crash pad for a weekend in San Francisco.

  • Clean and in a great area just minutes from Mission District. The apartment is low on amenities for example there is no kettle, cheese grater or strainer so if you plan to cook, make sure you bring everything you need to do so. In addition the apartment is in a shared building on the ground floor which can be very noisy at times, especially in the morning from 7:30am. Road parking is available but you will have to drive up to a mile to find it. Despite these minor shortcomings, we did enjoy the stay as it gave us a good base to explore the beautiful SF.

    Response from Bernat:

Thank you Niall for your comments regarding the amenities. We are sorry to hear that you did not find everything needed in the kitchen and we have now buy the cooking items that were missing. We also got some K-cups for the coffee machine and will make sure that it will be refilled. For the parking it's usually pretty easy to find a spot but during rush hour can be little tough. Again, thank you very much for your feedback, they are very accurate and helpful in order to improve future guest's experience.

  • While visiting San Francisco recently, my friend and I really enjoyed staying at this beautiful home. The location was perfect for our needs and experience during our vacation. Bernat values his guests and truly offers a hotel like apartment. I highly recommend first time and returning visitors of SF. Cleanliness , Location , communication 10/10 !! Thank you so much.

  • This was the perfect base for us in San Fran-good local amenities.easy access to transport links to the airport and downtown.
The flat was the perfect size for two and felt like a home away from home.
Would stay here is we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to come to San Fran again.

  • Location was excellent, stay was problem-free and exactly as described. Pretty much the smoothest part of our trip! Thanks!

  • Bernart's was prompt at answering messages/calls, his instructions were very clear and detailed, and the studio was very tidy.

  • This is a sweet apt in a sweet location.
Very clean and cozy. Little dark, but its ok.
Backyard is shared but still cool!
Parking on the street is easy.
We also got a crib for our son for extra 40 and it was super useful.

  • The apartment was functional and clean...more like a hotel than most AirBnd places. There were a few problems but they were quickly resolved by the owner. Super conveniently located to the Bernal Heights restaurant area. Access to the freeway was also simple and easy.

I love my wife, my parents and my brother, without them nothing would be the same! I like to provide people accommodation during their stay in San Francisco. I also have on Airbnb one cute apartment in the heart of Barcelona. San Francisco is such an amazing city surrounded by history, unique culture and special events throughout the whole year, and I want to make sure my guests enjoy their stay as much as possible! My favorite places in the world are San Francisco, Menorca, Barcelona and a place I haven't been yet. I love the Mediterranean sea and its magic. My motto is: If you can dream it, you can do it!
