Michal's house in truly an oasis. We couldn't have asked for a more welcoming, comfortable, and interesting place to stay. Between the house, its furnishings, the incredible garden, and the gracious host, you will not want to leave. We arrived as guests and left as friends.
Michal is a lovely host, and his place is gorgeous! I had a wonderful four nights, and Michal helped with suggestions about food, stores, museums, and directions. It is a great location for me, as it's minutes away from my friends I was visiting. Michal is so kind, and made my stay in Pasadena a memorable one!!!!
If you are looking for a warm and welcoming (but not too intrusive) host and a comfortable place to stay this is the site for you in Pasadena. Just hearing Michal's voice on the phone before you arrive, you know you are about to meet a one-of-a-kind host and make a wonderful connection. I would not hesitate to recommend his place or make reservations again. Flowers in the room, candles and a pleasant atmosphere.
Our bed was so comfortable! The location was great and easy to find. Michal was a gracious host and very interesting to talk with, as well as very knowledgeable about the arts, antiques, and history, He had ample brochures and information about the local places to dine and visit, too. We enjoyed our stay and will be glad to book with Michal again in the future.
Michal is a so special host,he is warm and has a wonderful sense of humor. His house is full of miracle, make you feel like living in the old time, peaceful and sweet. He is always there waiting for help you in all aspects.I am so excited to live in his house and will come back someday. If you want a special experience, Michal's Foothills Oasis is your best choice!
Michal was such a warm and welcoming host. He had a bottle of wine chilling for us upon our arrival. Beautiful setting and so close to all amenities of Pasadena. He had so many suggestions and information about things to do in and around Pasadena. We actually tried Aux Dulce on Sunday morning for a light & delish breakfast and coffee. We found Michal to be a very entertaining conversationalist and very well read. Oh and by the way, Michael has a wonderful sense of humor we really got a kick out of him! Our room was very well appointed. We slept well in a comfortable bed and enjoyed the fresh air and being surrounded by so many trees. For me, it brought back wonderful memories of family cabin vacations. Michal is a wonderful host and we look forward to our next visit.
If you have time for reading only one review, let this be it.
I spent three months at the foothill oasis and it became home away from home. It is a perfect place for those looking for that spot in the universe where they will be comfortable and where the people are incredibly nice. If you are looking for a septic, cold environment then look elsewhere. This house is for those who want warmth - be it by the fireplace or the cordiality of the hosts.
Speaking of them, Michal & Aaron are great hosts. Aaron saved the day when I needed the voucher for Universal City and Michal is a true friend. He goes above and beyond the call of duty and his help was invaluable for me and for my experience in the USA.
Were it not for him, I would have missed on so much. Like the time when he helped me with grocery shopping and they were giving away free sodas to promote a new line of 7-up and whatnot. We got back home with 42 cans and it was such a precious and fun adventure, despite being completely small. But it is experiences like this that made it into such a compelling trip - I didn't feel like a tourist, I felt like a visitor.
That is the thing, I believe. This is the place you come to when you want to go back with a story to tell. This is not the standardized, hotel-like industry, this is the custom-tailored, one-of-a-kind experience.
I wish I had the proper words to recommend Michal's place but as far as I know, there are no words that mash up kindness, thoughtfulness, hospitality, cordiality, fun, adventure and warmth.
Perhaps, as the title states, the "Oasis" word is the most fitting.
Thank you Michal & Aaron for the great stay that I had, you guys are awesome. :)
What a special find during Rose Bowl week! We very much enjoyed our stay at Foothills Oasis #2. We were greeted by our host and were happy to share a glass of wine with him in front of a roaring fire. Lots of great conversation and a very comfortable stay! (Lots of information, too, about things to do and see in the Pasadena area.)
