From our finca you can reach the main road in 2 mins. There you can find a number of local restaurants, and little shops, also you can rent bicycles, motorbikes and scooters. There are a number of short and long hikes you can do. Exploring Merida is best on foot. In the dry season you can walk on the lake shore for miles.
The road that goes towards San Ramon runs along the lake and you can explore little lovely, different and quiet beaches all the way. Nature here is amazing! Walking around you can see howler monkeys, squirrels and many different species of birds and parrots. There are also an incredible amount of old, huge trees. Hiking volcano maderas you walk through sub-tropical forests and rain forests where vegetation is unique.
Merida is one of the most beautiful parts of the island, people here still live on fishing and agriculture.
