One morning I was awakened by a vibrantly red cardinal pecking at my window. There is a bird sanctuary very close by. Also enjoy a continental breakfast with fresh coffee, rolls, fruit and orange juice each morning. Harrahs casino, Aquarium of the Americas,, plantation tours, swamp tours, voodoo tours, and the fabulous French Quarter are 6-8 minutes away by (website hidden) downtown New Orleans. Great for Mardi Gras and any other festive occasions. Boomtown casino and a swamp tour are also near my condominium. Swimming pool, fireplaces, friendly atmosphere, and gracious host. Can pick you up at airport and bring you back There is also WIFI and cable tv. Children and pets are welcome. Beautiful colored lights at the doorway illuminate
your pathway at night
There are two bedrooms to choose from-The "Angel Room" master bedroom with the angel tapestry overlooking the queen-sized bed is decorated in the old New Orleans tradition and has an antique 40's vanity and a beautiful fireplace at the opposite wall. The mattress is a posturepedic and is "heavenly" to sleep on. There is also an Oreck air purifier to provide crisp clean air. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed with a memory foam mattress. It is decorated in white with a beautiful rose crochet bedspread. massage chair that is free for one guest at a time.
My sister especially enjoyed the theatres. " Streetcar Named Desire" by Tennessee Williams actually produced here was a very special and unique play she will always remember. Movies are often filmed in New Orleans during the warmer months and I have ran across "movie shoots " in progress while taking guests around to see the sights. This was quite exciting and you never know what you may see while you are visiting. My mother and myself had the opportunity to be extras in a commercial a few years ago and it was quite an experience and fun to do.
The horse and buggy is a great way to visit the French Quarter and the drivers will often give you a colorful description of the history of the city and surrounding areas.
I have even had a couple who spent their honeymoon here and a few celebrated their birthdays. If you do need rides
I have taken the guests on tours myself and would gladly drop you off or pick you up If I am available.
Guest will have access to the kitchen and can
cook if they wish and keep items in the refrigerator.
Interaction with Guests
I will be on my cell phone 24/7 if my guests need
me for anything.
Beautifully landscaped and well kept
Of course there is a taxi service and the city bus if
need be. Also, if guests need a lift into the French
Quarter, etc, I will be glad to do so if I am available.
Other Things to Note
Children are welcome at no charge. Pets are fine if they are well behaved and house trained. Please give a 24 hour notice so that I may prepare your room properly.
Though the condominium will be shared, it is a two bedroom with one hollywood bathroom, Everyone's privacy is greatly respected. Smoking is allowed but only outside on the covered patio where you can sit and enjoy a cup of
coffee or a glass of wine and take in the beautiful garden.
Southern hospitality at its finest! She was welcoming and went above and beyond to help us out. She picked us up from the French quarter even at late hours. The room is just as is shown in the pictures but the bed...so comfortable! It was cold while we were visiting but she made sure we had everything to keep us warm, even gloves!
This was our first trip to experience Mardi Gras parades and Linda's place was a perfect place to stay. She made us feel welcome in a very warm way. She left a gift bag in our room with goodies and a welcome card. She was very outgoing and accomadating for our needs. Last minute we had an extra guest and Linda was very helpful to add her in as well. She gave us a breakfast every morning with fresh fruit, bacon, eggs, cheese etc..and gave us lots of information about what to see and do in NOLA. Linda took us on a tour of the city and the cemeteries and it was greatly helpful! At Linda's place, we felt relaxed. It's in a gated community and the ride to the city is less than 10 minutes. She offered rides back and forth to the city, which was very kind of her. Thank you for being a great host.
My cousin and I stayed in the "Angel Room " , this also expresses my view of Ms. Linda . She was more beautiful than New Orleans to me . Southern Hospitality is truly an understatement for then pure love and kindness received . Ms. Linda was a lifesaver , breakfast was delicious.
Teatime was awesome , and don't skimp on the fitness center Jacuzzi and steam room if your stay allows the time . So glad she was able to accommodate us and we cancelled our reservation at that hotel . This was a far better experience for the money ,and only 10 minutes away from the French Quarters . Has already started recommending everyone . I have family in all of New Orleans but would stay Here for the quiet and space every time I am down . Thank you Thank you . This was my first air BnB stay and wow .. what a great choice ! A definite MUST ! if your searching like i was , don't hesitate and miss your chance to book . A++ all the way : ) . Look forward to my next visit , thanks for being a host and friend on my our visit , again thanks.
We were pretty curious to know what "Southern Hospitality" meant when we read Linda's blurb on her BnB post.
To actually understand it...............it is a MUST that you saty with Linda. My girlfriend Su and I have just felt that staying with Linda was almost as if we were visiting family. She was the most amazing host .....taking us out to various places, making us feel totally at home and giving us a tour of the slave plantations in New Orleans. She even picked us up from the airport and had some lovely X'mas goodies ready for us in her home. Thank you Linda for your lovely hospitality and hope that you will visit us someday.
Linda welcomed me like I was one of her family. She was so considerate as I was driving from Washington, DC to New Orleans and reassured me that she would make sure that I could easily get to my meetings at the Convention Center. I was delighted to find out she would provide me a sumptuous bacon and egg breakfast accompanied by a variety of very fresh fruits and delicious fresh coffee. Linda is a wonderful conversationalist about many things of mutual interest including New Orleans and old movies. She even provided me with on-demand cable TV in my room! Her condo is tucked away in a nice quiet section of a gated community. A wonderful stay and good value.
Linda is a lovely and caring lady who is all about looking after you. She offered us drinks on arrival and lifts to and from town. She made a lovely large breakfast and lots of offers to take us places. Like an aunt she makes a fuss over you. The house is in a gated community so very safe with your car.
Linda was absolutely amazing. She went beyond her duties as a host and provided such a wonderful experience. I ended up on a last minute flight to New Orleans from Europe and found Linda. She was responsive and helpful with providing an alternative option for staying with her since both of her rooms were booked. Beyond that Linda provided transportation to french quarters and picked me up afterwards. She is absolutely wonderful.
