Interaction with Guests
We live on the floor located above this room and work from home so we often run into our guests. However, there are many times when schedules do not align and we miss our guests entirely but are always available for questions and recommendations.
Do note that you might run into another Airbnb guest staying in their own private room on the same floor and sharing the bathroom with you.
Our neighborhood is diverse and friendly with quaint vintage shops, quirky bars and excellent restaurants. It is conveniently located near I-5 and public transport.
Just 5 miles north of Downtown and nestled in the historic Kenton community close to shops and dining, we are within easy walking distance to public transit (Yellow Max line and several buses) and a 20 minute car ride downtown with great N/S-bound freeway access.

Bus: 4 and 75 are less than a block away and the Yellow Max line is only 6 blocks from the house. All will take you downtown in about 25-35 minutes.
Car: Parking is free and easy curbside at the house.
We are in the Car2Go zone and several Zipcars are in the neighborhood making shared transportation readily available.
Airport: From the airport, take a taxi for $20-30 and spend 20 minutes or take the Red Max train from the airport to the Rose Quarter and change to the Yellow Max train to Kenton Station then walk to the house. It usually takes 1-1.5 hours and costs $2.50.

What a lovely home! Carrie and I stayed in the yellow room for three nights, and unfortunately did not have the pleasure of meeting our hosts as they were out of town. We had everything we needed at the house - cozy backyard, french press, heavenly bed, close to some cool bars and delicious grub. Also very easy and safe to get into the house with a security keycode at the front door and a key to the bedroom. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!
This was our very first Air BnB experience and it was great. The home is really easy to find and in a nice neighborhood. The home is super clean and Maylene and Charity were fantastic hosts. If we come back to Portland, we would definitely stay here again.
This was an amazing experience and exactly what we were looking for during our week in Portland. The house was clean and very cozy! Loved having people around and in the same token loved the private relaxation time. The neighborhood was perfect atmosphere and beat the hotel experience. Communication was fantastic and if ever back in Portland we would love to stay here again! Thank you so much!
Neat as a pin, really easy to find, clear instructions, easy walking distance to restaurants and bus stops, very quiet.
Everything was great! Very clean, nice shower, and Maylene and Charity were super nice. Would definitely stay again
I had a good visit with Maylene and Charity. Both ladies were a delight to talk with and spend time around. They have an easy going manner and their overseas travel experiences make them good hosts.
The house was as described and the photos of everything were accurate and did not give any false impressions. It was a tastefully restored house from the late 1920's, much like the houses in the town I grew up in. A nice detour down Memory Lane.
I didn't have a car, and walking to the MAX trolley station was easy, with good, well lit sidewalks the whole way. It was six short blocks, not the long ones.
Should I return to Portland again, I'll definitely check and see if they still have an AirBnB listing.
Awesome stay. Home was clean and very welcoming. In a great part of town near public transit.
