Interaction with Guests
We live on the floor located above this room and work from home so we often run into our guests. However, there are many times when schedules do not align and we miss our guests entirely but are always available for questions and recommendations.
Do note that you might run into another Airbnb guest staying in their own private room on the same floor and sharing the bathroom with you.
Our neighborhood is diverse and friendly with quaint vintage shops, quirky bars and excellent restaurants. It is conveniently located near I-5 and public transport.
Just 5 miles north of Downtown and nestled in the historic Kenton community close to shops and dining, we are within easy walking distance to public transit (Yellow Max line and several buses) and a 20 minute car ride downtown with great N/S-bound freeway access.
We are about 25-35 minutes away from downtown by bus or Yellow Max train line. Both are within six blocks of the house with a bus stop less than a block away.
Bus: 4 and 75 are less than a block away and the Yellow Max line is only 6 blocks from the house. All will take you downtown in about 25-35 minutes.
Car: Parking is free and easy curbside at the house.
We are in the Car2Go zone and several Zipcars are in the neighborhood making shared transportation readily available.
Airport: From the airport, take a taxi for $20-30 and spend 20 minutes or take the Red Max train from the airport to the Rose Quarter and change to the Yellow Max train to Kenton Station then walk to the house. It usually takes 1-1.5 hours and costs $2.50.

Well, where to start? Maylene and Charity were wonderful hosts, from well before our trip even began to days after! The level of contact between us was perfect - we were given all the necessary details for our stay early on, and once we got to the house things ran perfectly smoothly. The house itself is fantastic, very well maintained and incredibly comfortable. It is also in a lovely neighbourhood, and right next to public transport. We had absolutely everything we could ever need and want, and could not be more grateful to the ladies for making our stay so awesome.
Maylene & Charity were great hosts and opened up their home to us. It was a clean and comfortable environment with everything we needed to enjoy our stay.
Comfortable, small room in beautiful home. My husband and I stayed for a week while looking for an apartment in Portland. We had access to a well-appointed kitchen and were given a shelf in the pantry and half a shelf in the refrigerator to use for our cooking needs. The hosts are easily accessible via email or text and made the check in and check out process easy.
The location is within a 10 minute walk to the Max light rail station on Lombard, several bus lines, a grocery store, and a few cafes. It is easy to get into downtown, if you don't mind a 25-30 minute commute.
My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights on our trip through the PNW. It was my first Airbnb experience and it was a good one! They sent me a message a few days prior to my stay with detailed directions and information regarding our stay. Our flight landed late on Friday night and we didn't stroll in until about 11 pm but they were still up and greeted us. We were out and about exploring the city most of the time but ran into them a few times, they seemed really nice. They have a dog that was really friendly but they were still training her so we couldn't play with her as much as we wanted to. The room was clean upon arrival. They had another guest in their other room so we shared a bathroom with him. Their bathroom was fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash which was nice if you forget to pack that stuff. Their house is located about 10 minutes outside of the downtown area, which I didn't mind since we rented a car. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend them completely to other travelers!

We are high school sweethearts who met in Japan over 20 years ago. Many areas of our home are strongly influenced by our time there. We share a common passion for travel and haven't seen nearly enough of the world yet! One day we'd like to compete and WIN on The Amazing Race.
Small business owners and entrepreneurial folk, we work from home so we're available for questions and referrals.
In our free time you'll find us planning our next big adventure, binging on YouTube videos, stretched out on a yoga mat, or curled up with a good book.
