Welcome to our happy home at the Lake where living is like vacationing! Apartment has private entrance, 2 bdrms (rented seperately), lg living room with 2 beds + fireplace, kitchenette, 3/4 bath and laundry. We live above & come down for laundry.
Just off the family room, your room has a queen bed and day bed. TV for vhs movies (great movies provided) in closet.
Your private room with a queen and single bed is in a 2 bedroom apartment on the ground floor of our home. You will have the place mostly to yourself. We currently have an exchange student staying in the second room. You will be sharing the bathroom, but not the family room, with him.
If you have a large group, extra people can be accommodated in the family room. It is connected to your bedroom and there is a queen sleeper couch and a daybed there.
We live upstairs. The house is situated across the street from Angle Lake, where living is like vacationing! We have a private beach lot & a public park 1/4 block away. We are 1 mile from the airport (not under the flight path, so it's relatively quiet.)
We offer airport pick up for $10 ($20 late night) and free parking during your stay. Long term parking while traveling is $3 per day.
Basically, the ground floor is for guests. The private entrance opens into the family room and your bedroom is connected to that. Down the hall is our office & a second room occupied by our student. We come down occasionally to use our office and laundry, but we can do that without entering your space.
The bedroom has a comfy twin size day bed and a queen bed. Also available are 2 roll-away beds (one is a pillow top mattress and the other is a regular mattress). Clean pillows and sheets always, plus beds will be sanitized by a UV Light Saber that kills 99.9% of all germs, bacteria and viruses.
In your room, there is a large window to open for fresh air, but it is below grade so looks into a large alcove with a nice tree in it.
The rooms get crowded with more than three people, but you can extend into the family room which can sleep up to 4 more people in a queen bed couch sleeper and two singles. We do have screens you can use to shield a sleeping person from view.
A small kitchenette (8' x 9') attached to the family room has a toaster, toaster oven, egg cooker, electric fry pan, induction stove top cooking element, George Foreman grill, dishes and utensils.
Down the hall painted as a stream is a restroom and laundry room. The shower has a great rain head you will enjoy.
The laundry room has a washer, dryer, microwave, espresso machine, drip coffee maker, hot water pot, refrigerator and laundry sink.
You have your own entrance on the right side of the house through to the back of the carport. There is a bank of windows and then your door. You can use the code to open the door and enter into the apartment's family room. Your bedroom is to the right. As you have your own entrance, you can come and go as you wish.
If you wish, you can continue through the carport to the stairs up to the back yard and huge deck with tables, a porch swing, a fire pit, a barbecue, badminton and ping pong. You are welcome to use all.
Interaction with Guests
if I am home, you will be greeted warmly and shown around and given the tour. If not, you may check yourself in using the combination lock on the door and our house information guide.
We will leave you to enjoy your apartment on your own. We may pass through to the office or laundry. If you are in the sitting room, we may say hi. You can request total privacy.
Don't be shy about asking for our help. Call or text me and if I don't respond immediately come upstairs. Please ring the interior door bell to the by the stairs first.
I come and go and often work from home, but love interacting with guests, if you desire; that is what the BnB experience is all about.
FUN THINGS TO DO NEARBY
You will love this home in a safe, friendly neighborhood, just steps from Angle Lake and it's beautiful park. Swim or fish in one of the cleanest lakes in the city (boats are restricted to 8 mph.) The park has a separate water feature for little ones. There is a playground, several picnic areas and fishing.
A YMCA is 3 blocks away with a pool and large work out center. The mall and movie theaters are 3.6 miles away. A fun center and indoor skydiving are just a bit further.
Within 1/2 mile of the house there are several hotels with restaurants, a Jack in the Box, a Taco Bell, Dave's which is an old fashion diner, a new Mango Thai place, 13 Coins, Sharp's Roaster, a Denny's, and a 7-11. Just a walk through the park is a Casino.
It's a half mile to the entrance to SeaTac Airport terminal and 1.3 miles to the Light Rail for Downtown Seattle. Buses to both are a short walk through the Park. I provide transportation to and from both for $5 to $20 depending on time of day or night.
Other Things to Note
There are no children here, but 2 cats rule (Butter Nuggets and Feral.) Our Collie dog, King, loves and protects. Animals can be restricted from the entire basement upon request. Note to those with allergies; although pets are now restricted from your bedrooms at all times they pass through the family room when we aren't looking. If you wish to chance it, I will clean like crazy before you come. So far, one guest with cat allergies had an allergic reaction while another did not.

Tani was a great host and the place was fabulous. Nestled below the main house, it is a very cozy, comfortable, and quiet space. The main bed in the guest room is super comfy and everything is neatly labelled so you won't confuse what's yours to use and what's the exchange student's. I found this very helpful. The place is easy to get to from the airport, a quick cab or Lyft/Uber ride.
This was one of the greatest experience ever, they were very friendly, very helpful, always checked on us to see what else they could do for us to make it better.
Bottom line,I would love to go back there or encourage anyone to use them in the future.
We arrived at SeaTac with unexpected colds & coughs and Jonathan was right there to pick us up and even offered to stop at the drug store for us if we needed anything. We had left our new car in their driveway for the duration of our trip and everything went smoothly--it had been well cared for--what a wonderful option.
Great room, comfortable bed, in late and out early with no problems. Convenient location between the airport and Des Moines. Easy to find.
Tani Rae was incredible amazing. We arrived from SeaTac airport very late; however, she was there for us waiting with a big smile. Her place is nice, cozy, clean and very comfortable. We totally enjoyed our time at her place and we will love to go back again. If you need to be near the airport, this is the perfect place . Thank you, Tani!
Tani Rae was great. we changed our arrival time at the last minute realizing we needed to eat some dinner first & she was very helpful with many suggestions via texting. So great. When we arrived, Tani Rae was very welcoming, showed us around, made herself available if we needed anything at any time, and then let us just settle in. The sitting room was so nice and cozy and the modern shower was great. Another really nice touch was the bowl of fresh fruit Tani Rae brought down to us in the evening! Even though we couldn't take advantage of their kayak or bicycles this trip, we hope to in the future. Next morning, Tani Rae helped us with our luggage--over and above the call of duty--and drove us to the airport making it very nice & relaxed for us. Thank you!
Tani Rae was very welcoming. She came down and greeted me even though I arrived fairly late in the evening. She showed me a couple things about the place and introduced me to the exchange student sharing the apartment. He was very quiet, I would not have known he was there if she hadn't asked him to come out. The neighborhood was great, close to the airport and she is across the street from a small lake. There is even a kayak to use on the lake if you are there long enough.

My husband Jonathan and I are a fun and loving couple... and funny too. (well, we think we're hilarious) We love our house and our neighborhood (big back yard with ping pong & badminton, the lake and the park each 100 paces from our door). We think it is all too wonderful to keep to ourselves. Such a great place should be shared. And in sharing we are blessed by meeting amazing people. We loved hosting kids studying here from other countries. We hosted 27 over the years. We hope to visit them all when we retire.
My husband loves to cook and golf. I work from home on my website, ilovemymind. I research brain health and human potential and maintain a blog on how to keep your mind young and sharp as you age. I am fascinated about health, archaeology and marketing. Jonathan is fascinating, able to speak on almost any topic and is (as he puts it) full of useless facts. He wants to learn guitar. I want to improve my Italian language skills. We are positive and accepting people. Our family motto is; to respect, protect and empower.
We live across from the cleanest swimming lake in Seattle. I swim across it (and back) in the summer. Jonathan would love to golf more than work, but for now Boeing wins out for his time as a project manager in Employee Engagement. He mentors young people and is writing a book "Mentoring, Changing the World, One Person at a Time." We have been married 26 years (thanks to the golden rule, which we follow.)
We lived in Italy for three years, while in the Navy. We have great photos and love to talk about it. We are in our 50's with a ballerina daughter who lives in North Seattle. We currently have an international students from Taiwan who is like the son we never had. We have hosted many people in our home over the years and have had wonderful reviews from them all. People kept saying, you should open a B&B. Voila. Here we go.
