SF charm - in a great neighborhood

Apartment - Private room · California Street, San Francisco, CA 94115, United States

The Space

We live in a large, very quiet 1906 apartment with 13' ceilings, a working fireplace, sunny rooms with lots of plants, and an aquarium. There are always orchids in bloom. I am an art rep and the apartment is filed with original artworks.

We have a great kitchen, lots of cookware and staples if you want to cook. There is always coffee and tea for the mornings and local wines to share with guests. I am happy to provide some breakfast items in the morning - ( let me know what you would like ahead of your arrival - bagels, yogurt, cereal, etc). If you prefer there are several cafes right outside on the street that offer a full breakfast menu.

Your private room is fully furnished with a very comfortable twin size bed, TV, working fireplace, wifi and fresh linens. The room is very sunny and warm. There are also two plush chaise that are great for reading and sipping wine by the fire - just ask me and I'll build a fire in the fireplace for you to enjoy! Everyone loves the sunny, shared bathroom which has lots of hot water and great water pressure.

**If you are a couple traveling together and looking for a double/full size bed accommodations - please look at my other listing at the same address - 'Charming, sunny room, best location')

'Lower Pacific Heights' is one of the best areas in San Francisco:
On this block there are lots of cafes, bars and restaurants, yoga studios, (Solstice Restaurant & Lounge, Tataki Sushi, The Mindful Body, Cumicia Coffee)
Short walk to upper Fillmore Street, and Laural Village & Sacramento) - these are upscale shopping and eating and drinking...
Laundry and a cleaners are directly across the street from apartment.

" The apartment is in a fabulous location where a vehicle is not necessary. Everything you can possibly want or need is walking distance or a short bus ride away! - Ruth

  • Johnny was a fantastic and generous host and I found the place to be very clean and comfortable. He was swift with his communication and very easy to coordinate checking in and out. I would recommend a stay here to any friend!

  • I had a lovely stay at Johnny's apartment. He was very communicative before I arrived to ensure that we would conveniently connect on picking up the apartment key and getting the tour of his apartment. Johnny made me feel very much at home in his cozy apartment. While I did not have time to use it, it was wonderful to have access to Johnny's kitchen to prepare food. Johnny also gave me good advice about parking in the area and where I could find good breakfast coffee. I would recommend renting Johnny's apartment to anyone who would like a cozy, quiet room in an lovely apartment in San Francisco.

  • Johnny has a gorgeous old apartment. It was a beautiful place to stay, with lots of original art, light and space throughout. Johnny was kind and accommodating to my needs and stored my luggage while I took off for a few days. I stayed longer than planned as everything was made really easy and the location is great. I'm a light sleeper so the only issue for me was street noise and the bed being too short for my six foot long self. I knew these things in advance so they're not complaints, just a heads up to others who may prefer silence at night. Thank you all for a great, memorable stay in San Fran!

  • Had a great stay with Johnny in SF! The apartment is located in a wonderful neighborhood of the city, close to great restaurants and shops. He was welcoming, prepared for every need I might have had, and an incredibly gracious host. I highly recommend staying with Johnny if you find yourself in need of a room in SF!

  • I really enjoyed my stay at Johnny's home. The neighborhood is very safe and location close to restaurants and coffee shops. Fillmore is just 4 blocks. It is street parking and once I got the hang of it, I did not have issues finding a spot to park unlike some other SFO neighborhoods. Both he and Mark were very helpful ... giving me as much information as I asked for yet giving me as much privacy as I wanted. The place has beautiful artwork with exotic plants. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils/tools, tea etc. The shared bathroom was not an issue since everyone had a different schedule.

I loved it and will definitely be back.

  • We really enjoyed our stay with Johnny in SF. He was very helpful and accommodating - he was friendly but also gave us as much privacy as we wanted.

The bed was a little small, but we knew that before we arrived and it made for cozy sleeping. The kitchen is well decked out, as is the rest of the house - beautifully decorated.

One thing we really enjoyed was looking out the window onto the street and waking up to the bustling activity below.

The house was in a good location, very easy access to transport and its a fun city to walk around & observe. Pacific Heights is a slightly ritzy suburb but if you're exploring the Mission and Castro, you'll get a true SF experience.

We loved it and will be back for sure.

  • Johnny was an awesome host with a very outgoing and friendly personality who always made sure I had everything that I needed. The place was exactly as advertised including a very helpful housekeeper who always offered coffee or breakfast. The neighborhood is central to many places as I enjoyed great food on Filmore Street, morning jogs through parks and a very timely bus (#1) right outside of the apartment. Excellent value.

I am originally from North Carolina (yes, i still have my 'southern' accent even after 27 years living in San Francisco. I am fine art and commercial photographer ((website hidden)), and I have founded and run several 3 galleries in San Francisco ((website hidden)) and produced many art events to raise money for non-profits. I am also an artist coach and still maintain my connections to sell art by local artists. I love traveling when time and finances permit. I've been to Egypt, Turkey, London, Paris, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Costa Rica, and Mexico. Hawaii of course if you live on the west coast ! I want to go to Asia or Peru next..... I must have my coffee first thing in the morning and have been known to get coffee across the street....so that I can meet a friend for coffee later. I will eat pretty much anything unless it is really hot and spicy. I love red wine, wine tastings.....and who doesnt like margaritas. However, martini's at "The Top of the Mark" is what you drink there.
