GIANICOLO DREAM ART HOME

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Via Felice Cavallotti, Rome, Lazio 00152, Italy

The Space

A place, an apartment in Monteverde, near Villa Sciarra, where for varying periods of time, one week, 2 months..., faraway travelers can find shelter; a place where one can experience the natural feeling of being at home, allowed by the pleasant indoor and outdoor space they are confronted with.

This apartment is now also an art home, through the presence of several contemporary works of art by the artists Oan Kyu and Paolo Di Capua: etchings-engraving by the Korean artist; wooden sculptures and drawings on wood plates by the italian artist.

On one hand, the works are positioned in the living space without disturbing its harmony, on the other they inevitably and willingly create a displacement, triggered by their "way of being" meditative and ambiguous.

  • The apartment is a nice size and nicely decorated. It is a little out of the way but close to bus line 75. There is a dishwasher which is helpful and a decent kitchen.

  • We stayed for 2 and half weeks with small baby. Apartment is ideal for larger group or family. It has 3 separate bedrooms and separate kitchen and separate living room. 2 balconies. Wooden floor which is nice because not cold for the feet even in December. Also central heating works fine.
Kitchen has quite good tools. I think we only missed some wine glasses. Television set is quite poor. Discolored image and about 2 channels could be visible. This was no problem to us since we did not spend time watching television :)
Location is nice and peaceful. No traffic noise. However you should note that this part of city is located at top of the hill. It is not very straight forward to walk down (at lest with baby strollers) or up! Strainght way includes steps and without stepis it is long. So if you plan to go somewhere further you will need to use bus (close, line 75) or taxi if you dont want to sweat.
The flat was just as I expected and Amedeo was wonderful host. There were some problem with internet and Amedeo got help very fast. I will most definetily recommend this flat and Amedeo if you want to stay in real neighbourhood with real Italian people and still be able to see whatever Rome has to offer.

  • We really liked the apartment. It's tastefully fitted out, has plenty of space in the 3 bedrooms, was clean and well located. An easy bus trip for 1.50Euro to the Colosseum and a 500m walk to catch the train to the Vatican (plus another bus or 1km walk) which was also easy. We found it a great spot for touring from for our family. There was a. Little bit of noise at night from a bar close by on Sat night, but not a problem for us.

  • The flat was very comfortable, warm ( thanks Amedeo for heating) and equipped all necessary things to spend great week in Rome. Amedeo was very kind to us, he met us at late evening ( about 11 pm) and helped to bring the heavy baggage to the third floor.

  • First class accommodation in a lovely area of Rome. The local restaurants were great and very reasonable. The transport links into the main sites of Rome were easy to access. The flat was quite, clean and tidy - just what we needed. Many thanks Amedeo!

  • The flat is really spacoius and comfortable. There's everything you may need during vacation or business trip to Rome. The location is perfect, park nearby and very good connection to any place in city center by tram, train & bus. Famous Trastevere district is just 15 minutes walk away. The district itself is very good to stay in. The bus stop is almost around the corner. There is also small supermarket & cafe in next building.
4 of us stayed in Amedeo's flat for a week and liked it very much. Although Amedeo was unable to meet us on arrival he warned me in advance that his friend will help us and provided all contact details. We met Amedeo couple days later, and he was very nice & helpful.
I definitely recommend this place and hope to have a chance to stay here again!
    Thanks, Amedeo!

  • Nice place to be in Rome. Spacious, Clean and welcoming.
Amedeo helps with every question you have. Bus 75 takes you directly to Collosseum if you don't want to walk.

  • We had a great time in Rome! We stayed for 7 days and it was great to come back home at Gianicolo Dream Art House to relax and profit of such calm and confortable environment. The flat is very well equiped and confortable. We were two couples and there was a lot of room for everybody. The bus "75" is right around the corner at takes to Coliseum, Plaza Venezia, Termini Station in 15 minutes. We also walked to Trastevere through the steps of Villa Sciarra and took there tram "8" to Plaza Venezia in 10 minutes. There's a good supermarket and a lovely café just rong the corner. We hope to be back again. Thanks Amedeo for the welcoming!

  • Excellent choice for a stay in Rome! I even recommended the apartment to my cousin in the UK on the last leg of our trip before I ever made it back home to the states. (No surprise that it was already booked for the dates of her trip.) Very clean, very comfortable, and Amedeo was wonderful to work with, both before our arrival and once we arrived. Because of our good experience, we hope to use airbnb whenever we travel in the future. Found the neighborhood absolutely perfect after long days of sightseeing. Close to public transportation and easy to get to Trastevere and the city center. And, our best Rome meals were just around the corner from the apartment, much better than those the tourists frequent in Trastevere and the city center. (I would definitely recommend Il Vascello for a lovely dinner!) The only suggestion I would make, if you are a coffee drinker, is either that Amadeo purchase a coffee maker, or that guests make sure to pick up a jar of instant coffee...It seems that Romans don't do coffee to go like we are used to in the states and other places...the idea, I think, is to actually relax in a cafe and have one's morning coffee, but we needed a little wake up brew before going out into the world. Great apartment & great experience!

  • Loved this apartment! There were 3 separate bedrooms (one with single only), bathroom with stand up shower, new modern kitchen, new washing machine, wifi, two balconies, and beautiful hardwood flooring. We stayed here and were comfortable, and happy. Would definitely recommend this apartment!
