A hop and a skip from Prospect Park, our studio is fully equipped, and ready for your visit!
A complete renovation was completed when we launched this rental, including a brand new bathroom and kitchen, fresh walls, and refinished original hardwood floor. There is a queen sized bed and a pullout sofa, a new dishwasher, and internet access. There is a large south facing exposure, and a separate entrance on the ground floor of the house.
It's two blocks west/south of Bartel Pritchard Circle--that's the south west entrance of Prospect Park, with a movie theater and many small shops and restaurants. Seventh Avenue, at the other end of our street, also has dozens of restaurants and specialty food and clothing stores. We are two blocks from the F train, and the 7th ave. bus is at the end of our block.
The space is ideal for up to two, but we can accommodate up to four, for monthly, weekly, or shorter term rentals. Please check my calendar for availability, and feel free to be in touch with any questions about your stay. I love the city and welcome the opportunity to show it off to visitors!
Interaction with guests
My family lives above the studio. We are usually home, though at times when school is out - summer break and standard vacations - we're often away. But I'm always available by text or email.
Other things to note
My family lives in the house above the studio - we are two adults, three kids, and a dog. While we are always as considerate as possible, the house is old, the floors creak, and I know that people hear us above them. We're up and about by 6:30am on weekdays, and not till closer till 8am on weekends. All three kids are out at school on weekdays and frequently out till late afternoon, but on weekends or after school we're a busy crew. We have friends over, we play out front, we go in and out a lot.
It's important to me that anyone considering staying here be aware that there *will* be noise! Many guests—particularly solo travelers— have mentioned feeling more secure when they know they're not alone in the big city. But if you've read all this and you're thinking - ugh! - don't hope for the best. At the very least you will hear the floors creak. There are plenty of great spots in the area, and I really don't want to spoil anyone's long awaited vacation! Or visit, or work trip, whatever the circumstance—I want whoever stays here to be happy with what they find!
Thank you for not smoking inside or directly outside of the house.
Please be conscientious about electrical consumption - I would appreciate if you would turn off the Air Conditioner if you go out, and whatever lights are not necessary.
Do feel free to leave the outdoor and hallway light on for your safety; both have energy efficient bulbs in and are intended for this purpose!
