County Donegal is located in the north east of Ireland. So far north, that Donegal is home to Malin Head, the most northern tip of the Irish mainland. Its Gaelic name ‘Dún na nGall’ translates as “fort of the foreigners”, suggesting much of Donegal’s unique spirit.
A 200 year old cottage in beautiful country location .Large living room with big comfy sofas to lounge in while you feed pot bellied stove on chilly evenings or sit outside in large garden and enjoy peace of country side.

There is a hotel/spa/bar within walking distance.The Letterkenny Golf club is less than a mile away .Other leisure activities include fishing and horse riding ,bowling; pitch and putt ,walking and swimming.
The heritage town of Ramelton only a 5 min drive and the stunning beaches of Rathmullan and Portsalon are all within easy reach.The Glenveagh National Park and Castle are only a 20 minute drive away.
Derry City ,Belfast and the Giant's Causeway are within easy driving distance .Derry City has many wonderful sights such as the 400 year old City Walls and the Peace Bridge across the River Foyle
In Ireland we pride ourselves on our welcome ( " a stranger is just a friend we have yet to meet " ) and if I had one piece of advice for anyone planning a trip to Donegal or Ireland it would be to take your time . While my country is lovely it is the people you meet along the way who will make your trip forever memorable ....

.I am not originally from Donegal I have all the enthusiasm of someone who has just discovered all its many charms.
I am an avid reader and we are both film buffs .I am interested in archaeology and history. we are not adverse to odd glass of red wine ,a long chats and can guarantee any visitor the most heartfelt welcome.
We have travelled throughout Europe and are big fans of airbnb as both hosts and guests ,we hope that this makes us sensitive to guests needs and we are always happy with suggestions to help make your stay in our home as enjoyable as possible .
