The Space

Space:
Our place is a two bedroom urban oasis with a large living room, kitchen, and bathroom area just minutes from the subway. You will be sharing the space with two friendly and fun performers. We boast a calm, quiet, and peaceful place with great energy. We like to keep our apartment clean, clutter free, and provide a space where you can unwind from the bustle of the city. Your room would be the living room area with a super comfortable over-sized sofa and ottoman. The room has a large flat screen television, WiFi, and is extremely cozy. There is also a curtain that you may choose to use for additional privacy. The apartment is warm and has minimal street noise for a quiet and comfortable night's sleep.

Location:
The apartment is located just 5 blocks from the F, Q, and R trains in Park Slope and is an easy 15 minute subway ride into Manhattan. The apartment is situated in the industrial part of Park Slope, however, is in a very safe location. We are five minute walk from a great selection of locally owned bars, unique and fabulous restaurants, and eclectic shopping. There are some great yoga studios within walking distance, a YMCA, and multiple gyms close by. Additionally, we are a ten-minute walk to Prospect Park.

Building and Parking:
The building is a ten unit brick apartment complex that is bug-free. We live on the fourth floor of a walk-up, so please note that there is no elevator and there are stairs. Although we do not recommend having a car in the city, street parking is not hard to find near the apartment. If you do choose to park on the street please pay attention to street cleaning closures.

Amenities:
We provide: sheets, pillows, blankets, towels and toiletries such as: shampoo, conditioner, soap, razors. We have a fully stocked kitchen and some space in the fridge reserved for your perishable items.

Note:
We use all natural cleaning products for those that might have allergies or be sensitive to harsh chemicals or smells.

Check Out/Check In:
Check out is at 12:00 pm (This is a suggested time to accommodate our guests. If you should require additional time we can stow your packed luggage.)
Check in is at 2:00 pm. (Again, this is a suggested to to accommodate incoming guests. Your check in can be earlier provided that there is no guest prior to your arrival.)

Requests:
Our preference is to host people who have a history and reviews on Air B and B, however, if you are a first-timer we request that you have an updated biography and photo(s) and provide us with a short description of your trip to New York City.

House Rules:
We ask that you respect the space and our neighbors by maintaining quiet hours before 8:00 am and after 11:00 pm.
This is a no smoking building and apartment.
We just ask that you please help to keep our space tidy and beautiful.

Welcome!:
We welcome you to New York, our home, and want to make sure that your stay here is fabulous!

Guest Access

Guests will have access to all communal spaces: Living Room, Kitchen, Bathroom. Additionally, guests have access to WiFi, storage space, Flat Screen TV, refrigerator, bathroom toiletries and occasionally Raymond cooks....so delicious food might be on hand!

Interaction with Guests

We love to get to know our guests and have made many wonderful friends through Air B and B, however, we want to respect your space and time and are sensitive to someone who might prefer to keep to themselves. With that said we have enjoyed many a meal in the neighborhood, Thanksgiving Day celebrations, wine/beer/tea at our Magic Kitchen Table, and great conversations with all of our wonderful guests.

  • My second time staying with Raymond and Heather. Had a wonderful experience! Thanks guys :)

  • Our son stayed with Raymond and Heather for a month while he was interning in Manhattan. Raymond and Heather were very flexible with arrival and also with a potential change in departure. They were available via text and phone at all times for questions which was greatly appreciated with the extended stay. They were awesome with advice and shared their own interests to be sure Aaron made the most of his time in the city. He left having had a fabulous experience professionally and personally...and evidently Raymond is a great cook :-) We would recommend R&H without hesitation.-

    Aaron's review ;
Heather and Raymond are awesome and super accommodating. You definitely will not feel like a stranger in the apartment. I stayed with them for a month while I had an internship at a recording studio in Manhattan. My schedule was pretty crazy but they were super accommodating of me coming home at all hours of the morning. They are super nice and I had a great time hanging out with both of them!

  • My stay with Raymond and Heather was the epitome of AirBnB experiences! They are by far the nicest, friendliest and most welcoming hosts one could ask for. It's no surprise their ratings are so high, and I am happy to give five stars to these superstars! Heather is an absolute doll, and Raymond is by far one of the funniest people I have ever met. Like tears rolling down my face, I can't breathe kind of funny. An absolute joy and one of the greatest surprises of my vacation! As for the room, it was very cozy and though it appears out in the open I never once felt like I didn't have privacy. The bed is comfortable and the space is relaxing. The location is not far from the subway and it's not too far to head into Manhattan. I didn't feel like I was out in the boonies at all. I explored a lot of Brooklyn on this trip so it was actually a perfect location for me. I came home late often and never felt unsafe walking alone from the subway to the apartment. Heather and Raymond are so awesome, I wish I could clone them and have every travel experience be as great as it was with them. They are the best of the best and I feel so lucky to have met them and spent some time getting to know them. They are awesome! Thank you for making my vacation so much fun. You guys are the best!!

  • What a fantastic experience I had in Brooklyn, New York. And this due to Raymonds and Heathers support. Great hosts, lovely persons and very nice room with a comfortable couch/bed. Communication in advance was very good and they helped me with everything: public transportation (how to get from the airport to their apartment), breakfast/lunch/dinner - possibilities in Brooklyn and in Manhattan, laundry, ...
I felt like home from the beginning and I'm happy everything worked out so well!
Thanks a lot. I really enjoyed my stay and had a wonderful time. I highly recommend their place!

  • My stay with Raymond and Heather was probably one of the most fun trips I've had in recent years. Unfortunately, Raymond was away on business for the duration of my stay. But I communicated with him on several occasions about directions and getting around before my trip and he was extremely helpful. Heather was an absolute blast. She is kind and a fantastic hostess. She introduced me to a fantastic pizza place and we had many amazing conversations during our time together. It genuinely surprised me how nice and relaxed they both are. Coming from Texas, where hospitality is a must, Heather really made me feel welcome in her home. The space is beyond comfortable and the cozy feel is complimented very well by the proximity to Brooklyn and all the fun and exciting things it has to offer. I felt right at home from the moment I stepped in the door and I know for sure that if I am ever back in New York that I will go out of my way to stay with Raymond and Heather again.

  • Raymond and Heather are both friendly and attentive! I had travel delays and other problems (entirely on my end) and they were understanding and communicative.
